In the title multi-donor Schiff base compound, C19H13N3O·CH3OH, the dihedral angle between the mean planes of the phenanthroline and phenol rings is 59.3 (1)°. The Schiff base molecule is linked to the solvent molecule by an O—H⋯O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, the components are linked by O—H⋯N hydrogen bonds, weak O—H⋯N interactions and π–π stacking interactions [centroid–centroid distances = 3.701 (1) and 3.656 (1) Å]

Synthesis of Peripherally Tetrasubstituted Phthalocyanines and Their Applications in Schottky Barrier Diodes

New metal-free and metallophthalocyanine compounds (Zn, Co, Ni, and Cu) were synthesized using 2-hydroxymethyl-1,4-benzodioxan and 4-nitrophthalonitrile compounds. All newly synthesized compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, UV-Vis, 1H-NMR, MALDI-TOF MS, and GC-MS techniques. The applications of synthesized compounds in Schottky barrier diodes were investigated. Ag/Pc/p–Si structures were fabricated and charge transport mechanism in these devices was investigated using dc technique. It was observed from the analysis of the experimental results that the charge transport can be described by Ohmic conduction at low values of the reverse bias. On the other hand, the voltage dependence of the measured current for high values of the applied reverse bias indicated that space charge limited conduction is the dominant mechanism responsible for dc conduction. From the observed voltage dependence of the current density under forward bias conditions, it has been concluded that the charge transport is dominated by Poole-Frenkel emission

Synthesis and characterization of a new vic-dioxime ligand and its complexes with cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II)

782-785A new vic-dioxime ligand (LH4), 1, 10-phenanthrolino-5,6-bis(2,3-dihyroxyimino-1-aza) propane has been synthesized from the reaction of 5,6-diamino-1,10-phenanthroline with anti- chloromethylglyoxime. The ligand reacts with Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) salts to form complexes. The complexes have been characterized by FTIR, 1H NMR (DMSO-d6), elemental analyses and magnetic measurements. Protonation constants of the ligand and overall formation constants of the complexes have been calculated from potentiometric data using the program TITFIT

1395-1399A new Schiff base ligand, N-quino[8 ,7-b]azin-5-yl-2 ,3,5,6,8, 9,11,12-octahydrobenzo [b][ 1,4,7,10,13]pentaoxacyclopentadecin- 15-ylmethanimine (1) has been synthesized from the reaction of 5-amino-1, 10-phenanthroline with 4'- formylbenzo- 15-crown-5. The ligand reacts with Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) salts to form complexes. The ligand and the complexes have been characterized by FTIR, 1H NMR (DMSO-d6), UV-vis, elemental analysis, mass spectra (LC-MS) and magnetic measurements. The metal to the ligand ratio of the Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes have been found to be 1:2. Protonation constants of the ligand and overall formation constants of the complexes have been calculated from potentiometric data using the computer program TITFIT
