    Förbehandling av bioslam för ökad biogasproduktion Eftersom bioslam från aktivslamsteget i reningsprocessen ger en lägre metanproduktion än primärslam bör förbehandlingen ske på bioslam. Effekten av olika förbehandlingsmetoder är dock svårbedömd och ofta erhålls inget positivt energiutbyte då energin av ökad produktion av biogas kan vara mindre än tillförd energi vid behandlingen. Vissa förbehandlingsmetoder som ozonering kan vid överdosering oxidera substrat och ge minskad biogasproduktion   Litteraturstudien kompletterades med mätning av biometanpotential efter förbehandling av bioslam (Khayi, 2014). Som förbehandlingsmetoder valdes frysning (djupfryst och lättfryst) och uppvärmning. Vid 35 dagars rötning producerade djupfryst slam 221 Nml CH4/g VS, lättfryst 115 Nml CH4/g VS, det uppvärmt 181 Nml CH4/g VS och det obehandlade (referens) 148 Nml CH4/g VS (Nml, normalmilliliter är gasvolym omräknad till en atmosfärs tryck). Djupfrysning och uppvärmning ökade biogasproduktionen medan lättfrysning gav minskad biogasproduktion.   Uppgradering av biogas Vid uppgradering separeras koldioxid från biogasen varvid metangas erhålles.  Uppgradering kan ske genom att koldioxiden absorberas av ett fast (PSA-teknik med zeoliter eller aktivt kol) eller flytande medium (vattenskrubber, polyetylenglykol eller monoetanolamin) eller med membranteknik. Investeringskostnaden för uppgradering är starkt beroende av storleken på anläggningen snarare än av vilken teknik som används, men vid små är investeringskostnaden för membranteknik något lägre.   Genom intern metananrikning i rötkammaren kan metanhalten i den producerade biogasen ökas.     High-Efficiency Modified Fresnel Reflectors for Solar-Energy Concentration

    A study has been made of the Fresnel reflector and two variations of this reflector for use as solar-energy collectors. One variation is the conical Fresnel reflector in which the serrations are located on the inner surface of a cone. It is shown that this reflector can have a collection efficiency of 1.00 for any rim angle, if the proper cone angle is selected. Equations are developed for the design of the second variation which consists of a reflector plane that is not perpendicular to the incoming light rays. Segments of this reflector can be used to form a pyramidal collector which combines the desired flatness of the Fresnel reflector with the high efficiency of the conical Fresnel reflector. This collector can have an efficiency which is very close to 1.00 when a sufficient number of reflective sides are used

    Role of Charm Factory in Extracting CKM-Phase Information via B --> DK

    In this paper we study the impact of data that can be obtained from a Charm Factory on the determination of the CKM parameter gamma from decays of the form B -> D0 K where the D0 decays to specific inclusive and exclusive final states. In particular, for each exclusive final state ff, the charm factory can determine the strong phase difference between D0-> f and D0-bar -> f by exploiting correlations in psi(3770)-> D0 D0-bar. This provides crucial input to the determination of gamma via the interference of B+- -> K+- D0 -> f with B+- -> K+- D0-bar -> f. We discuss how the method may be generalized to inclusive final states and illustrate with a toy model how such methods may offer one of the best means to determine gamma with 10^8-10^9 B-mesons.Comment: 12 pages, 7 figures, Version 2: Fixed typos; add reference; Version 3: fixed latex glitc

    Bounds on charged higgs boson in the 2HDM type III from Tevatron

    We consider the Two Higgs Doublet Model (2HDM) of type III which leads to Flavour Changing Neutral Currents (FCNC) at tree level. In the framework of this model we can use an appropriate form of the Yukawa Lagrangian that makes the type II model limit of the general type III couplings apparent. This way is useful in order to compare with the experimental data which is model dependent. The analytical expressions of the partial width Γ(tH+b)\Gamma (t \to H^+ b) are derived and we compare with the data available at this energy range.
