INVESTIGATING ATTITUDE AND IMAGES OF SUPERIOR INTELLIGENT AND GIFTED STUDENTS TOWARDS SCIENTISTS

The objective of this research was to investigate attitude and images of superior intelligent students and gifted students towards scientists. 34 superior intelligent students from 5th, 6th, and 7th grades had participated to the research. In the research, Chambers' (1983) Draw a Scientific Person Test (DAST), Scientific Person Attitude Scale and Personal Information Questionnaire were used. The DAST-c checklist of student drawings with Draw a Scientific Person Test (DAST) included the physical characteristics of the scientist, research symbols, information symbols, technology signs, science gender of the person. In the Scientific Person Attitude Scale, the thoughts of the students’ thoughts about the work of the scientist, gender of the scientists, social life and social activities of the scientists, and character, emotions, properties, and work life of the scientists was evaluated. The results of the study indicated that superior intelligent and gifted students perceived scientists as individuals who wore laboratory aprons, used glasses, messy-looking people that used laboratory as the working environment. Majority of gifted female children draw female scientists where majority of gifted male children draw male scientists.  Article visualizations

Economic crisis international relations and the future of globalization

2007 yılının ortasında ABD’de ipotekli konut kredilerinde başlayan kriz 2008 yılının ikinci yarısından itibaren ABD ve Avrupa’da finans krizine yol açmıştır. 2008 sonundan itibaren de bütün dünyadaki reel sektör krizden olumsuz etkilenmeye başlamıştır. Kriz 1929 yılında başlayan ve İkinci Dünya Savaşı’na giden basamaklardan biri olan Büyük Buhran ile karşılaştırılmaktadır. Hâlihazırdaki ekonomik krizin de küreselleşme ve dünya politikası üzerinde bir kısım etkilerinin olması doğaldır. Krizin sonuçta geçici bir evre olduğu dikkate alınarak bu çalışmada, kriz sonrasında uluslararası sistemde baskın çıkacak eğilimler tartışılmış ve küreselleşme sürecinin değişen yoğunlukta derinleşmeye devam edeceği iddia edilmiştir.The crisis that began in mortgage credits in the middle of 2007 in the United States triggered a financial crisis starting from the middle of 2008 in the U.S. and Europe. At the end of 2008 real sector all over the world began to be negatively affected from the crisis. Current crisis is compared with Great Depression that had begun in 1929 and become one of the steps going to the Second World War. It is very usual to expect that current crisis will have some influences on globalization and the world politics, too. Taking into account that the crisis is a transitionary period, in this essay, dominant tendencies in international relations after the crisis are debated and it is argued that globalization process will continue to deepen with changing intensity
