    Synthesis, characterization, biological and electrical conductivity studies of some Schiff base metal complexes

    Metal complexes of VO(IV), Zr(IV), Th(IV) and UO2(VI) with Schiff base ligands derived from 4-nitrobenzoylhydrazide with 2-hydroxy-5-methylacetophenone (H2L1) or 2-hydroxy-5-chloroacetophenone (H2L2) have been prepared. All the complexes have been characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility measurement, electronic and IR spectra and thermogravimetric analysis. The IR spectral data suggested that the ligands behave as dibasic tridentate moiety towards the central metal ion coordinating through phenolic oxygen, enolic oxygen and azomethine nitrogen atoms. The elemental analyses show a 1:1 metal:ligand stoichiometry for all the complexes except Th(IV) which has 1:2 stoichiometry. The thermal analysis evidenced that thermal transformations of complexes are processes according to TG curves including dehydration, thermolysis and oxidative degradation of Schiff base. The final product of decomposition is the most stable metallic oxide. The kinetic analysis of the thermogravimetric data was performed by using the Coats-Redfern method. Solid state electrical conductivity of the complexes has been measured in their compressed pellet form over a 310-413 K temperature range. All the complexes show semiconducting behavior as their conductivity increases with increasing temperature and a function of ionic size.     Budaya Literasi Melalui Program Gls Dalam Menumbuhkembangkan Minat Baca Siswa SD Negeri Melayu

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan Budaya Literasi melalui program Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) dalam menumbuhkembangkan minat baca siswa di SD Negeri Melayu berdasarkan dari segi implementasi serta peran pihak sekolah dalam mendukung program GLS di SD Negeri Melayu. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Adapun objek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V SD Negeri Melayu tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini terbagi atas dua yakni sumber data primer dan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari wawancara, kuesioner (angket), observasi, studi dokumentasi, studi kepustakaan. Data dalam penelitian ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan 3 tahap yaitu data reduction, data display, dan Conclusion drawing/Verification. Program GLS di SD Negeri Melayu mulai diterapkan pada tahun 2016 yang merupakan bentuk kebijakan pemerintah dalam mewujudkan budaya literasi bagi siswa melalui kegiatan membaca 15 menit setiap dari seblum pelajaran dimulai, sebagaimana tertuang dalam Permendikbud Nomor 23 Tahun 2015. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh hasil bahwa: (1) Budaya literasi melalui implementasi GLS dalam menumbuhkembangkan minat baca peserta didik SD Negeri Melayu belum berjalan efektif dari segi tahap-tahap pelaksanaan.Namun,melalui tahap pembiasaan dalam wujud menumbuhkembangkan minat baca siswa SD Negeri Melayu telah dilihat dari kegiatan siswa didalam kelas sebelum memulai pelajaran, telah membiasakan diri untuk membaca selama 15 menit; (2) Peran pihak sekolah dalam mendukung program GLS di SD Negeri Melayu melalui penyediaan sarana dan pasarana, serta arahan dan motivasi guru maupun pustakawan terhadap siswa dalam tahap pembiasaan merupakan wujud kerjasama seluruh pihak sekolah SD Negeri Melayu dalam menumbuhkembangkan minat baca siswa

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis Pengaruh kepuasan kerja terhadap turnover intention dengan komitmen organisasi sebagai variabel intervening.Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah karyawan tetap yang berada di PT. Astra International Tbk, Honda. Sampel penelitian ini sebanyak 100karyawan dalam PT. Astra International Tbk, Honda dengan menggunakan analisis jalur. Dari model analisis tersebut nilai dari variabel dependen diperoleh dari hasil kuesioner dan menggunakan skala likert. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model yang diteliti telah memenuhi uji kelayakan model. Kepuasan kerja yang menunjukkan hasil positif dan signifikan terhadap komitmen organisasi, kepuasan kerja menunjukkan hasil positif dan signifikan terhadap turnover intention , komitmen organisasi menunjukkan hasil positif dan signifikan terhadap turnover intention dankepuasan kerjaberpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap turnover intention melalui komitmen organisasi.     Densities and ultrasonic speed of 2-hydroxy-5-methyl-3-nitro acetophenone in N,N-dimethylformamide at different temperatures

    Density, ultrasonic speed measurements have been made for 2-hydroxy-5-methyl-3-nitroacetophenone (HMNAP) (0.06-0.21 mol.kg-1) in N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) at four equidistant temperatures: 298.15, 303.15, 308.15 and 313.15 K. These measurements have been used to evaluate some important thermodynamic and acoustic parameters, such as apparent molar volume, limiting apparent molar volume, adiabatic compressibility, apparent molar adiabatic compressibility, limiting apparent molar adiabatic compressibility. The apparent molar volume (Vf) and apparent molar adiabatic compressibility (Ks,f), were computed using density data. These parameters, were used to discuss interactions between the ketonic (>CO) group and DMF molecule. The results are interpreted to gain insight in to the changes in molecular association equilibria and structural effects in these systems.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.4314/bcse.v27i1.1

    295-302<span style="font-size: 9.0pt;mso-bidi-font-weight:bold" lang="EN-US">Measurements of density, viscosity, ultrasonic velocity and refractive index of L-aspartic acid (0.01-0.09 mol.L-1) in 0.1 M, 0.05 M and 0.025 M aqueous zinc chloride and copper chloride solutions have been carried out at 308.15 K to evaluate some important parameters, viz. isentropic compressibility, relative association, free path length, apparent molar volume, apparent molar isentropic compressibility and molar refraction. These values are used to explain molecular association, solute-solvent interaction through hydrogen bonding and solvation. Viscosity data have been analyzed in the light of Jones-Dole equation and the constants A and B are estimated. The results have been interpreted in the light of various interactions occurring between components of the mixtures under applied experimental conditions. The aspartic acid has been found to be structure maker in aqueous zinc chloride and copper chloride solutions from molar volume and as well as viscosity data. </span

    2120-2125A new Schiff base derived from 2-hydroxy-5-chloroacetophenone and S-methyldithiocarbazate and its coordination complexes with manganese(II), iron(II) cobalt (II), nickei(II), copper(II), zinc(II), cadmium(II) and oxovanadium(IV) have been synthesized. The resulting complexes have been characterized on the basis of their elemental analyses, molecular weight, infrared spectra, reactance spectra, magnetic susceptibilities, molar conductance measurements and thermogravimetric analysis. The Schiff base acts as a tridentate diabasic donor and coordinating through the deprotonated phenolic oxygen, thi oenolic sulphur and azomethine nitrogen atoms. The antibacterial activities of the ligand and its complexes have been screened against E. coli, S. aureus, Pr. mirabilis and S. typhi. Various kinetic and thermodynamic parameters have been evaluated from the thermograv imetric data and comparable values are obtained. Solid state conductivity of ligand and its complexes have also been measured from room temperature to about 473 K, in their pellet forms and the chelates are found to show semiconducting behaviour

    Informasi Vaksin Corona Sinovac di media sosial menimbulkan berbagai macam pandangan di tengah masyarakat sehingga menimbulkan pro dan kontra terhadap tingkat kepercayaan masyarakat terkait vaksin Corona Sinovac.Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh terpaan informasi melalui media sosial terhadap tingkat kepercayaan masyarakat mengenai vaksin Corona Sinovac bagi kesehatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan sebesar 400 responden dengan tingkat kesalahan 5%. Tingkat terpaan informasi vaksin Sinovac terhadap pengguna media sosial di kota Makassar menunjukkan kategori tinggi 82% dan tingkat kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap vaksin Sinovac di kota Makassar berada pada kategori ragu dengan persentase 38%. Terpaan informasi berpengaruh positif terhadap tingkat kepercayaan masyarakat berdasarkan uji t diketahui nilai t hitung 0.217 dan nilai t tabel 1.998 maka nilai t hitung 0.217 < t tabel 1,998 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ha diterima namun hubungan kedua variabel berada pada kategori lemah dengan nilai 0.217
