    Mechanical and thermal properties of beef tallow/rice husk charcoal-based plaster for building applications

    The construction industry represents the largest energy-consuming sector globally, primarily due to its substantial operational processes power demand. To address this, there has been an increased emphasis on using materials capable of absorbing and storing heat as alternative energy storage in buildings. Phase Change Materials (PCMs) demonstrate this capability, harnessing the latent heat principle to absorb surplus heat energy and subsequently release it in times of deficiency. This study examines the mechanical and thermal properties of wall cladding materials integrated with PCMs, specifically beef tallow and rice husk charcoal. These composites were produced via direct incorporation, with rice husk charcoal weight fractions of 8, 10, and 12 %. This approach resulted in weight fractions of 28, 30, and 32 % in the plaster layer material. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) tests confirmed the PCM composite's chemical compatibility across all its components, with the composite morphology appearing as microcapsules. In terms of thermal conductivity, the addition of rice husk charcoal to beef tallow enhanced the PCM composite's performance. This enhancement indicated that approximately 10 % of rice husk charcoal weight fraction could be successfully incorporated into the plaster layer material without leakage. At an ambient temperature of 45 Â°C, a plaster composite with 30 wt. % PCM met the standard compressive strength for plaster coating. Furthermore, it was found that this composite could reduce the temperature by 2.4 Â°C.     [Title: The System of Community Trust in the Unda Watershed Klungkung Regency] The Unda River watershed (DAS) is located in Klungkung Regency. The Unda watershed is derived from 7 rivers: (1) Bajing River, (2) Barak River, (3) Krekuk River, (4) Mangening River, (5) Masin River, (6) Sah River, and (7) Telagawaja River. The length of the river is 24,400 meters, 77 meters wide, 80 to 1 meter deep, 75 meters in height with 5.422 liter / second up to 7,390 liter / sec of water flow. The upper limit of the Unda River is Telagawaja River, including the Selat Village, Klungkung District, while the downstream of this river ends in Banjar Karangdadi and Banjar Pasurungan, Kusamba Village, Dawan Subdistrict, which further extends into the sea to the Badung Strait. The river is almost never dry throughout the year. Communities in this river still have a system of trust for cultural activities, one of the cultural elements of the religious system that is still used this river for the bath (pesiraman) the gods (betara). In addition, people still use this river for self-cleaning, sacrificial sacrifice, ashes, and fertility and safety ceremonies.     High Myostatin Serum Related with High Prevalence of Sarcopenia Among Elderly Population in Pedawa Village, Bali, Indonesia

    BACKGROUND: Sarcopenia is defined as a decrease in muscle mass accompanied by a decrease in muscle strength and performance. Sarcopenia arises from the disruption of the complex balance between anabolic and catabolic factors. Myostatin strongly influences muscle growth inhibition. Deletion and function loss of myostatin causes hyperplasia and skeletal muscle hypertrophy.METHODS: This study was an analytical cross-sectional study. Seventy respondents aged ≥60 years in Pedawa Village, Bali, Indonesia were selected by using the stratified random sampling technique. Sarcopenia status was assessed according to Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia (AWGS) criteria, including muscle mass, grip strength, and walking speed. While the myostatin serum levels was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).RESULTS: The incidence of sarcopenia in the elderly was 45 people (64.3%). Based on the analysis, there was a significant difference between myostatin levels in sarcopenia subjects (47.59 ng/mL) and non-sarcopenia subjects (39.7 ng/mL). Based on the statistical calculations, it was determined that the cut-off range of myostatin levels was 48.91 ng/mL. The prevalence ratio of sarcopenia incidence based on the myostatin levels in the elderly was 3.84, while based on the combination of age risk and myostatin levels was 9.75.CONCLUSION: Based of the data, there are significant differences of myostatin level between elderly people with and without sarcopenia. The prevalence of high myostatin levels in elderly is almost 4 times higher than low myostatin levels in the elderly.KEYWORDS: myostatin, sarcopenia, elderl

    KPK commissioners are appointed through a recruitment process involving the executive (President) and the legislature (DPR). The mechanism for selecting KPK candidates tends to be political. Furthermore, the following issues will be discussed: (1) how is the recruitment system for KPK members, (2) how is the selection process for the leadership of the corruption eradication commission (KPK) according to Law Number 19 of 2019 concerning the Corruption Eradication Commission. The type of research used in the thesis is normative research. The sources of legal materials used are Primary Legal Materials, Secondary Legal Materials, Tertiary Legal Materials. Techniques for obtaining legal materials used are document studies, literature studies, internet studies. Analysis of legal materials used is descriptive data analysis method. And the conclusion of the thesis is the Corruption Eradication Commission Member Recruitment System In the Corruption Eradication Commission Law, the appointment of KPK commissioners goes through several stages of the recruitment process which is carried out with a technical selection approach. Hasil perekrutan Anggota Komisi Pemberantasan Tindak Pidana Korupsi Dalam UU KPK pengangkatan komisioner KPK melalui beberapa tahapan proses rekrutmen yang dilakukan dengan pendekatan technical selection.     Upah Minimum Kabupaten adalah standar minimum yang digunakan para pengusaha atau pelaku industri untuk memberikan upah kepada pegawai, karyawan atau buruh di dalam lingkungan usaha pada suatu Kabupaten pada suatu periode tertentu.Perkembangan upah minimum kabupaten Sumbawa mengalami peningkatan setiap tahunnya selama tahun 2013 2017. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan penelitian tentang faktor apa saja yang dapat mempengaruhi penetapan upah minimum kabupaten. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari variabel Produk Domestik Regional Bruto (X1) dan variabel Tingkat Partisipasi Angkatan Kerja (X2) terhadap Upah Minimum Kabupaten (Y). Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian asosiatif, yaitu penelitian yang bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana pengaruh  antara variabel bebas dan variabel terikat. Jenis data yang digunakan adalah data kuantitatif dan sumber data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan studi pustaka dan dokumentasi.Alat analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Uji Asumsi Klasik, Uji Regresi Linier Berganda dan Uji Hipotesis.Hasil dalam penelitian ini adalah tidak ada pengaruh yang signifikan antara variabel Produk Domestik Regional Bruto (X1) dan variabel Tingkat Partisipasi Angkatan Kerja (X2) terhadap Upah Minimum Kabupaten (Y) Sumbawa tahun 2013-2017

    Nutrition content and antioxidant activity of black garlic

    Black garlic is a garlic that has been naturally processed at a certain temperature in a long time. Therefore, the new chemical content and formulations are produced. Black Garlic has stronger antibacterial properties, as well as antioxidants two times higher than regular garlic due to it consists of Sallycysteine. The longer black garlic fermentation of Sallycysteine content increases. The study was intended to identify the nutritional content and antioxidant activity found on black garlic based on fermentation time. The research type used was an analytical observation with complete randomized design included making, observing, and analyzing nutrient content (carbohydrate, protein, and fat) and antioxidant activity on black garlic based on fermentation length. The research sample was black garlic fermented at 700C. The experiment was carried out by different treatment of fermentation length was 30 days, 40 days, 60 days, and 90 days. The results showed that nutrient content and antioxidant activity of black garlic during the fermentation process tended to increase. The highest protein content was found on 60 fermented black garlic (7.52% bb). The highest fat content was found in 90 fermented black garlic (5.4% bb). The highest carbohydrate content was found on 90 fermented black garlic (45,476% bb)

    Protein and Iron Bioavailability, Perception, Menstrual Cycle as Adolescent Girls’ Anemia Factors

    Adolescent girls are one of the groups of people who is prone to iron nutrient deficiency. Iron is required as a substitute for iron lost due to the menstrual cycle. This research aims to determine the trigger factors of anemia in adolescent girls who become participants of the prevention and control program of anemia. This type of research is an observational research with cross sectional design and using statistical test of chelstle method of Mantel Haentzel and OR value for its meaning. The results shows there are four significant triggers of anemia that is perception of adolescent about nutrition (OR = 2,24; 95% CI = 1,05 - 4,76), adherence to TTD (OR = 2,49; 95% CI = 1.11 - 5.58), protein consumption levels (OR = 3.27, 95% CI = 1.57 - 6.84), iron intake (OR = 2.81; 95% CI = 1.30 - 6.05), and duration of menstrual bleeding (OR = 8.08; 95% CI = 1.05 - 61.89). The distribution of blood booster tablets or tablet tambah darah (TTD) needs to be intensified again, accompanied by an emphasis on the benefits of TTD tablets for young women, and to continue to consume independently when the distribution of TTD is terminated. In conclusion, adolescent girls are prevalent to iron nutrient due to menstrual cycle. Therefore, nutrition counseling should also be given besides consuming fresh foods rich in protein and iron as well as vegetables and fruits, because both foods contain vitamin C which greatly helps the absorption of iron in the body
