Nadilaženje granica javnog medijskog servisa: vrednovanje novih modela

This article addresses the need for new models of public service media. First, the article looks at the core factors, or borders, that frame the quest for new models: the digitalization, deinstitutionalization, and globalization of communication. It then outlines some suggested models for public service. Finally, the models are assessed in terms of how they respond to some core challenges for public service media as a concept and as an institution.Ovaj rad ističe potrebu za novim modelima javnog medijskog servisa. Prvo se u radu daje pregled ključnih faktora, odnosno granica koje uokviruju potragu za novim modelima, a to su: digitalizacija, deinstitucionalizacija i globalizacija komunikacije. Potom se sažeto opisuju pojedini predloženi modeli javnog medijskog servisa. Na kraju rada ti su modeli vrednovani s obzirom na to kako odgovaraju na potrebu nužnog nadilaženja starih granica postojećeg javnog medijskog servisa

Talking alone: Reality TV, emotions and authenticity

"This article examines reality TV as an illustration of contemporary confessional culture in which the key attraction is the disclosure of true emotions. This article hopes to contribute to the understanding of the production of self-disclosure through a formal analysis of international and domestic dating, adventure and lifestyle-oriented reality shows broadcast on Finnish television between 2002 and 2004. The diverse programmes verify that reality TV shows capitalize on a variety of talk situations within one programme, but it is the monologue that is used as a truth-sign of direct access to the authentic. We also suggest that the power of monologue in the reality genre promotes the transformation of television from a mass medium to first-person medium addressing masses of individuals." PENGARUH MEKANISME GOOD CORPORATE GOVERNANCE DAN PROFITABILITAS TERHADAP TAX AVOIDANCE Studi pada Perusahaan Pertambangan Berbasis Syariah yang Terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia Tahun 2011-2015

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan menguji secara empiris mengenai pengaruh mekanisme good corporate governance dan profitabilitas terhadap tax avoidance pada perusahaan pertambangan berbasis syariah yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) pada tahun 2011-2015. Faktor-faktor yang diuji dalam penelitian ini yaitu, mekanisme good corporate governance dan profitabilitas. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dan metode asosiatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari website IDX. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penlitian ini adalah perusahaan pertambangan berbasis syariah yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI), berdasarkan metode purposive sampling. Pengujian hipotesis penelitian menggunakan statistik uji hipotesis. Untuk mengetahui besarnya pengaruh mekanisme good corporate governance dan profitabilitas digunakan analisis regresi linier sederhana, analisis korelasi, dan koefisien determinasi. This study uses secondary data from financial reports obtained from the Sejahtera Cooperative. This study uses quantitative methods with descriptive format. The results from this study showed cooperative financial performance based on the aspect of likuidity ratio is considered very unhealthy. ABSTRAK ANALISA STRUKTUR MENGGUNAKAN SEISMIK ATRIBUT SPECTRAL DECOMPOSITION DAN AMPLITUDE PADA LAPANGAN “SAMAS” FORMASI BEKASAP CEKUNGAN SUMATRA TENGAH Oleh : Aslama 115.090.041 Penelitian terletak di Lapangan “SAMAS” daerah Cekungan Sumatra Tengah Formasi Bekasap. Daerah penelitian ini merupakan sebagai salah satu daerah yang dioperasikan oleh PT. Chevron Pacifik Indonesia (CPI) yang memperlihatkan tanda-tanda cadangan hidrokarbon yang terbesar, terutama terletak pada daerah bagian timur Cekungan Sumatera Tengah. Hidrokarbon dapat terakumulasi di reservoar disebabkan oleh sesar pada lapisan batuan. Sesar akan menjadi jalur migrasi dari hidrokarbon untuk terakumulasi di sebuah reservoar sehingga penting untuk dideteksi lebih lanjut. Sesar pada daerah penelitian merupakan sesar mayor dan minor yang berarah utara-selatan dan baratlaut-tenggara. Untuk dapat mendeteksi patahan/sesar dari data seimik pada daerah penelitian di Lapangan “SAMAS” yang terletak pada daerah Lapangan Minyak Minas, dapat menggunakan beberapa metode atribut seismik yaitu Spectral Decompotition dan Amplitude Atribut . Berdasarkan hasil analisa metode Spectral Decomposition pada map slice horizon top dan bottom Formasi Bekasap menghasilkan data yang lebih berkualitas baik, hal tersebut di buktikan dengan kehadiran fault dan kenampakan closure pada daerah penelitian. Hasil dari metode Spectral Decompitition dapat diperlihatkan pada empat slice frekuensi yaitu 40 Hz hingga 55 Hz pada range 5 Hz. Pada metode Amplitude Atribute, map slice horizon top dan bottom Formasi Bekasap hanya memperlihatkan kehadiran fault . Penentuan time window 70 ms di nilai dapat memetakan lapisan pada map slice horizon top dan bottom Formasi Bekasap, sehingga dapat menampilkan persebaran struktur sesar pada map slice horizon. Diversidad y derechos. La conexión entre la reforma mediática y los medios públicos

This article addresses the gap between media reform movements and support for public service media (PSM). It argues that the “critical juncture” created by the challenges of digitalization has shifted the focus from diversity to communication rights as a central aim for media reform. It posits that rights-based approach would position PSM in the framework of different media reform movements, and hence foster new alliances by connecting it to media freedom and digital rights discourses. In addition, it suggests that media reform movements would benefit from supporting PSM as a tool for achieving democratic communication rights.El siguiente artículo aborda la distancia existente entre los movimientos que defienden la reforma de los medios y el propio apoyo a los medios públicos. En él, se defiende que el “momento crítico” que se ha generado a partir del reto de la digitalizacion ha acabado por desplazar el foco del tema de la diversidad a la concepción de la comunicación como derecho en tanto que aspiración central dentro de la reforma mediática. El texto argumenta que un acercamiento basado en la comunicación como derecho posicionaría a los medios públicos dentro del marco de acción de los movimientos pro-reforma y, por lo tanto, permitiría promover nuevas alianzas al conectar estos movimientos con discursos centrados en las ideas de la libertad mediática y los derechos digitales. Además, se sugiere que los movimientos proreforma pueden beneficiarse de su propia defensa de los medios públicos como herramienta de cara a lograr derechos democráticos asociados a la comunicación

Why advocate for public service media? Perspectives from organizations for media development

In this commentary, we discuss how five prominent media development organizations (BBC Media Action, Council of Europe, DWA, PMA and UNESCO) define public service broadcasting (PSB)/public service media (PSM) and how they envisage its role and functions in their recent projects and reports. In view of the increasing challenges of the current media landscape, international donors are looking at models to provide a path to independent media and journalism and several international organizations support projects and institutional arrangements they label PSB/PSM. However, given the fundamental questions that existing PSBs face, is PSB a meaningful tool for media development? And how do these various advocates for PSB/PSM understand the concept and why do they feel that it is worth supporting? We find that there seems to have been a shift, common to all five organizations, towards defining PSB/PSM in terms of public service ethos, and we explain why this should be seen as a welcome development
