    Antioxidant and hypoglycemic potential of phytogenic cerium oxide nanoparticles

The purpose of this research was to investigate the antioxidant and hypoglycemic potential of green synthesized CeONPs using Mentha royleana leaves extract. The morphological and physicochemical features of CeONPs were evaluated by UV–Visible spectrophotometry, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Energy Dispersive X-rays and Fourier-transform infrared spectrometry, Dynamic light scattering, Atomic Force Microscopy, Zeta Potential. The average size range of synthesized CeONPs diameter between 46 and 56 nm, crystalline in shape, with Polydispersity index value of 0.2 and subatomic particles mean diameter was 4.5–9.1 nm. The antioxidant capability of CeONPs was assessed using DPPH, ABTS+, hydrogen peroxide, hydroxyl radical scavenging, and reducing power tests. The hypoglycemic potential of CeONPs was investigated using alpha-amylase, alpha-glucosidase, glucose absorption by yeast cells, and antisucrase. The effective concentrations were 500 and 1000 µg/ml found good in suppressing radical species. To explore the hypoglycemic potential of CeONPs, alpha-amylase, alpha-glucosidase, glucose absorption by yeast cell, and antisucrase assays were performed. Glucose absorb by yeast cells assay was tested for three distinct glucose concentrations: 5 mmol/L, 10 mmol/L, and 25 mmol/L. Green synthesize CeONPs showed a dose-dependent response, higher concentrations of CeONPs imposed a stronger inhibitory impact on the catalytic site of enzymes. This study suggest that CeONPs could possibly binds to the charge carrying species and act as competitive inhibitor which slow down the enzyme substrate reaction and prevents enzymatic degradation. The study’s findings were outstanding, which bodes well for future medicinal applications of CeONPs.Peer Reviewe

    Valuation, Information and Industry Perspectives of Equity Carve-outs

    Nous étudions l’évaluation, l’information et les perspectives industrielles lors des scissions de filiales par introduction en Bourse (ECO). Dans notre première étude, nous estimons les effets de richesse aux différentes étapes d’une ECO et leur lien sur les rentabilités boursières anormales de la société mère de la filiale. Nous trouvons que c’est la période de construction du livre d’ordres de l’introduction en bourse qui permet au marché financier de mieux estimer les effets de richesse positifs pour la société mère. Dans notre second travail, nousavançons que les ECO sont effectuées dans les secteurs industriels où les firmes présentent des opportunités de croissance plus faibles en moyenne. Nous démontrons que les industries concernées par des ECO ont des performances opérationnelles (mesurées par la rentabilité d’exploitation, les liquidités générées et la margeopérationnelle) plus faibles. Nous montrons également que les fusions acquisitions réalisées dans les industries où une ECO a eu lieu durant les trois années précédentes créent moins de valeur pour l’offreur que les fusions acquisitions qui ne sont pas concernées par une ECO. La dernière étude de cette thèse analyse l’impact d’une ECO sur la divergence d’estimations des analystes financiers et sur le nombre d’analystes suivants la société mère. Nous trouvons que la divergence d’estimations et le nombre d’analystes augmentent après une ECO.We study the valuation, information and industry perspectives of equity carve-outs.     Non-Linear Thermal Radiations and Mass Transfer Analysis on the Processes of Magnetite Carreau Fluid Flowing Past a Permeable Stretching/Shrinking Surface under Cross Diffusion and Hall Effect

    The flow of conducting Carreau fluid on a permeable stretching/shrinking surface is analytically investigated by considering the thermal radiation, mass transfer, and cross diffusion effects. A uniform external magnetic field is employed which gives rise to Hall current. The nonlinear PDEs are converted to a set of ODEs using similarity transformations. The developed ODEs are solved using the well established mathematical procedure of Homotopy Analysis Method (HAM). The influence of associated parameters over the state variables of the Carreau fluid are analytically studied and discussed through different graphs. It is found that fluid velocity augments (drops) with the rising power law index and Hall parameter (velocity slip and material parameters). The temperature field increases with the higher Dufour number and radiation parameter values, and decreases with larger Prandtl number. The concentration field augments with the larger Soret number and velocity slip parameter values whereas drops with the rising Schmidt number. The variations in skin friction, local Nusselt and Sherwood numbers are discussed using tables and it is noticed that the mass and heat energy transfer rates are controlled by the varying values of Dufour and Soret parameters. The comparison between present and published work shows complete agreement

    In this study, the Daftardar–Jeffery polynomials are incorporated in the homotopy of the optimal homotopy asymptotic method (OHAM) for solving the generalized Hirota–Satsuma coupled system of Korteweg–de Vries equations. The results are displayed through graphs and tables. The results obtained in this study are also compared with the published work on OHAM, which shows that OHAM-DJ is more explicit, reliable, and an efficient analytical technique. The exactness of the developed method can be improved by performing the higher iterations

    On the Analysis of the Non-Newtonian Fluid Flow Past a Stretching/Shrinking Permeable Surface with Heat and Mass Transfer

    The 3D Carreau fluid flow through a porous and stretching (shrinking) sheet is examined analytically by taking into account the effects of mass transfer, thermal radiation, and Hall current. The model equations, which consist of coupled partial differential equations (PDEs), are simplified to ordinary differential equations (ODEs) through appropriate similarity relations. The analytical procedure of HAM (homotopy analysis method) is employed to solve the coupled set of ODEs. The functional dependence of the hydromagnetic 3D Carreau fluid flow on the pertinent parameters are displayed through various plots. It is found that the x-component of velocity gradient (f′(η)) enhances with the higher values of the Hall and shrinking parameters (m,ϱ), while it reduces with magnetic parameter and Weissenberg number (M,We). The y-component of fluid velocity (g(η)) rises with the augmenting values of m and M, while it drops with the augmenting viscous nature of the Carreau fluid associated with the varying Weissenberg number. The fluid temperature θ(η) enhances with the increasing values of radiation parameter (Rd) and Dufour number (Du), while it drops with the rising Prandtl number (Pr). The concentration field (ϕ(η)) augments with the rising Soret number (Sr) while drops with the augmenting Schmidt number (Sc). The variation of the skin friction coefficients (Cfx and Cfz), Nusselt number (Nux) and Sherwood number (Shx) with changing values of these governing parameters are described through different tables. The present and previous published results agreement validates the applied analytical procedure
