Networked Control System for the Guidance of a Four-Wheel Steering Agricultural Robotic Platform

A current trend in the agricultural area is the development of mobile robots and autonomous vehicles for precision agriculture (PA). One of the major challenges in the design of these robots is the development of the electronic architecture for the control of the devices. In a joint project among research institutions and a private company in Brazil a multifunctional robotic platform for information acquisition in PA is being designed. This platform has as main characteristics four-wheel propulsion and independent steering, adjustable width, span of 1,80 m in height, diesel engine, hydraulic system, and a CAN-based networked control system (NCS). This paper presents a NCS solution for the platform guidance by the four-wheel hydraulic steering distributed control. The control strategy, centered on the robot manipulators control theory, is based on the difference between the desired and actual position and considering the angular speed of the wheels. The results demonstrate that the NCS was simple and efficient, providing suitable steering performance for the platform guidance. Even though the simplicity of the NCS solution developed, it also overcame some verified control challenges in the robot guidance system design such as the hydraulic system delay, nonlinearities in the steering actuators, and inertia in the steering system due the friction of different terrains

Proposta de Custeamento das Atividades de Armazenagem Paletizada pelo Sistema ABC em uma Cooperativa de Plantadores de Cana de Açúcar

Este trabalho apresenta um estudo do uso da formulação de custeio de armazenagem, substituindo o sistema tradicional chamado de “Custeio por Absorção”, pela utilização do sistema ABC, demonstrando maneiras eficazes em suas alocações de custos, a produtos e clientes, demonstrando sua superioridade em informações do processo, onde os custos são apurados de acordo com atividades consumidas por produtos ou clientes. Foi realizado um estudo, na Cooperativa de Plantadores de Cana do Oeste do Estado de São Paulo, onde foi possível analisar aspectos entre o sistema de custeio ABC, assim possibilitando uma melhor visão e uma tomada de decisão precisa. Deste modo, o sistema ABC aplicado em armazenagem mostra-se importante, ao demonstrar todas as posições de custo do sistema, proporcionando assim um ganho no posicionamento em relação à tomada de decisão, pelo fato de o sistema de absorção ser prejudicado pela falta de informações, tornando a administração lenta e com posicionamentos incorretos, prejudicando o bom desenvolvimento empresarial em um ambiente totalmente globalizado e competitivo, deixando à organização a margem de erros em suas tomadas de decisões

Impactos na Saúde Associados ao Uso de Psicoestimulantes: Uma Revisão Sistemática

This article conducts a systematic review of health impacts associated with the use of psychostimulants, encompassing clinical and recreational contexts. The introduction emphasizes the relevance of the topic given the prevalence of these substances and the need to understand their comprehensive effects. The methodology employed involved an extensive literature search on platforms such as PubMed and Scopus, establishing clear inclusion/exclusion criteria, and applying rigorous assessment of the quality of selected studies. In the discussion, we explore the therapeutic benefits of these psychostimulants, highlighting their efficacy in treating conditions such as Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). However, the analysis also covers physical and mental risks, especially when these substances are used outside the medical context, demonstrating associations with cardiovascular complications and psychiatric disorders. The crucial differentiation between therapeutic and recreational use is emphasized, underscoring the importance of an individualized assessment to understand the risks and benefits associated with each usage context. The conclusion emphasizes the need for clarity in communication about the use of psychostimulants, a careful evaluation of long-term impacts, and the implementation of public health strategies sensitive to social and cultural influences. This work contributes to a comprehensive understanding of health impacts related to psychostimulants, providing valuable insights for healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers in managing these substances in different contexts.Este artigo realiza uma revisão sistemática dos impactos na saúde associados ao uso de psicoestimulantes, abrangendo contextos clínicos e recreativos. A introdução destaca a relevância do tema diante da prevalência dessas substâncias e da necessidade de compreender seus efeitos abrangentes. A metodologia adotada envolveu uma busca bibliográfica extensiva em bases como PubMed e Scopus, estabelecendo critérios claros de inclusão/exclusão e aplicando uma avaliação rigorosa da qualidade dos estudos selecionados. Na discussão, exploramos os benefícios terapêuticos desses psicoestimulantes, evidenciando sua eficácia no tratamento de condições como o Transtorno de Déficit de Atenção e Hiperatividade (TDAH). Contudo, a análise abrange também os riscos físicos e mentais, especialmente quando essas substâncias são utilizadas fora do contexto médico, evidenciando a associação com complicações cardiovasculares e transtornos psiquiátricos. A diferenciação crucial entre o uso terapêutico e o recreativo é destacada, enfatizando a importância de uma avaliação individualizada para compreender os riscos e benefícios associados a cada contexto de uso. A conclusão ressalta a necessidade de clareza na comunicação sobre o uso de psicoestimulantes, uma avaliação cuidadosa dos impactos a longo prazo e a implementação de estratégias de saúde pública sensíveis às influências sociais e culturais. Co-simulation tools for networked control systems: revision and utilization

Networked control systems (NCSs) are distributed control systems in which the sensors, actuators, and controllers are physically separated and connected through an industrial network. The main challenge related to the development of NCSs is the degenerative effects caused by the inclusion of this communication network in the closed loop control. In order to mitigate these effects, co-simulation tools for NCS have been developed to study the network influence in the NCS. This paper presents a revision about co-simulation tools for NCS and the application of two of these tools for the design and evaluation of NCSs. The TrueTime and Jitterbug tools were used together to evaluate the main configuration parameter that affects the performance of CAN-based NCS and to verify the NCS quality of control under various timing conditions including different transmission period of messages and network delays. Therefore, the simulation results led to the conclusion that despite the transmission period of messages is the most significant factor among the analyzed in the design of NCS, its influence is related to the kind of system with greater effects in NCSs with fast dynamics
