Hamiltonian reduction and supersymmetric mechanics with Dirac monopole
We apply the technique of Hamiltonian reduction for the construction of
three-dimensional supersymmetric mechanics specified by the
presence of a Dirac monopole. For this purpose we take the conventional supersymmetric mechanics on the four-dimensional conformally-flat spaces
and perform its Hamiltonian reduction to three-dimensional system. We formulate
the final system in the canonical coordinates, and present, in these terms, the
explicit expressions of the Hamiltonian and supercharges. We show that, besides
a magnetic monopole field, the resulting system is specified by the presence of
a spin-orbit coupling term. A comparison with previous work is also carried
out.Comment: 9 pages, LaTeX file, PACS numbers: 11.30.Pb, 03.65.-w, accepted for

Kebijakan Operasi Pasar dan Pasar Beras di Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam
Rice is a strategic commodity in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) Province. The government intervention policy on rice is quite intensive particularly through subsidy policy at farm and off farm levels. During the period of early January 2006 until last February 2006 the price of rice at consumer level keep hiking. Meanwhile at the same time, NAD was allocated 12,000 tons imported rice from central government policy to preserve local stock. This study aimed to get a comprehensive overview about rice market in NAD Province, hence, market operation and rice importing policies will not have negative effect to the producer level even as the government controling rice price at consumer level. The study used survey technique at every level of marketing channel to get input-output data. Secondary data was collected from several institutions. The research finding point out that monthly rice stock availability at district level in NAD Province is very dynamic. On Januari 2006 there was rice defisit on several districts, this explained why NAD Province experiencing a deficit as much as 13.975 tons during that time. Rice market operation policy conducted by BULOG Regional Division NAD on January 2006 had small impact in controling rice price at consumer market. This phenomenon indicates a significant rice deficit in NAD Province and confirmed there is no overstock at the trader during that period as a response of the implementation of the INPRES No. 13, 2005 on rice policy. This study suggested the rice policies should be directed not only to controlling consumer price during high price (rice deficit) but also to avoid the farmer paddy price below the floor price (paddy surplus)

Proximal Jejunal Diverticle: Cause of Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding
Five percents of patient presenting with gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding, the etiology of bleeding could not be found by upper endoscopy and colonoscopy. Almost 75% of which, the abnormality is detected in small bowel. One of the etiologies in small bowel bleeding is jejunal diverticle. In this paper, we reported a female, 38 years old, came with upper GI bleeding since one month ago. She had undergone several diagnostic procedures, such as abdominal ultrasound, abdominal computed tomography scan (CT-scan), upper and lower endoscopy, but there were no conclusion to explain the cause of bleeding. However, barium follow through examination found a diverticle, pouch-like shape, at jejunal proximal projection. Then, she underwent surgical treatment. Small intestine bleeding is best investigated by capsule endoscopy and double balloon enteroscopy. However, in limited conditions, small bowel follow through can be used to screen the source of bleeding in small intestine. The specific diagnosis of small intestine diverticle is possible by radiologic contrast study using various form of barium. Small bowel diverticle does not require surgical treatment, unless refractory symptoms or complications occur. Jejunal diverticle is one of sources in small intestinal bleeding. Small bowel follow through can still be used to diagnose jejunal diverticle
Detecting Neutrino Magnetic Moments with Conducting Loops
It is well established that neutrinos have mass, yet it is very difficult to
measure those masses directly. Within the standard model of particle physics,
neutrinos will have an intrinsic magnetic moment proportional to their mass. We
examine the possibility of detecting the magnetic moment using a conducting
loop. According to Faraday's Law of Induction, a magnetic dipole passing
through a conducting loop induces an electromotive force, or EMF, in the loop.
We compute this EMF for neutrinos in several cases, based on a fully covariant
formulation of the problem. We discuss prospects for a real experiment, as well
as the possibility to test the relativistic formulation of intrinsic magnetic
moments.Comment: 6 pages, 4 b/w figures, uses RevTe
Artifact Rejection Methodology Enables Continuous, Noninvasive Measurement of Gastric Myoelectric Activity in Ambulatory Subjects.
The increasing prevalence of functional and motility gastrointestinal (GI) disorders is at odds with bottlenecks in their diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. Lack of noninvasive approaches means that only specialized centers can perform objective assessment procedures. Abnormal GI muscular activity, which is coordinated by electrical slow-waves, may play a key role in symptoms. As such, the electrogastrogram (EGG), a noninvasive means to continuously monitor gastric electrical activity, can be used to inform diagnoses over broader populations. However, it is seldom used due to technical issues: inconsistent results from single-channel measurements and signal artifacts that make interpretation difficult and limit prolonged monitoring. Here, we overcome these limitations with a wearable multi-channel system and artifact removal signal processing methods. Our approach yields an increase of 0.56 in the mean correlation coefficient between EGG and the clinical "gold standard", gastric manometry, across 11 subjects (p < 0.001). We also demonstrate this system's usage for ambulatory monitoring, which reveals myoelectric dynamics in response to meals akin to gastric emptying patterns and circadian-related oscillations. Our approach is noninvasive, easy to administer, and has promise to widen the scope of populations with GI disorders for which clinicians can screen patients, diagnose disorders, and refine treatments objectively
An exact study of charge-spin separation, pairing fluctuations and pseudogaps in four-site Hubbard clusters
An exact study of charge-spin separation, pairing fluctuations and pseudogaps
is carried out by combining the analytical eigenvalues of the four-site Hubbard
clusters with the grand canonical and canonical ensemble approaches in a
multidimensional parameter space of temperature (T), magnetic field (h),
on-site interaction (U) and chemical potential. Our results, near the average
number of electrons =3, strongly suggest the existence of a critical
parameter U_{c}(T) for the localization of electrons and a particle-hole
binding (positive) gap at U>U_{c}(T), with a zero temperature quantum critical
point, U_{c}(0)=4.584. For U<U_{c}(T), particle-particle pair binding is found
with a (positive) pairing gap. The ground state degeneracy is lifted at
U>U_c(T) and the cluster becomes a Mott-Hubbard like insulator due to the
presence of energy gaps at all (allowed) integer numbers of electrons. In
contrast, for U< U_c(T), we find an electron pair binding instability at finite
temperature near =3, which manifests a possible pairing mechanism, a
precursor to superconductivity in small clusters.
In addition, the resulting phase diagram consisting of charge and spin
pseudogaps, antiferromagnetic correlations, hole pairing with competing
hole-rich (=2), hole-poor (=4) and magnetic (=3) regions in the
ensemble of clusters near 1/8 filling closely resembles the phase diagrams and
inhomogeneous phase separation recently found in the family of doped high T_c
cuprates.Comment: 10 pages, 7 figure
Damping of differential rotation in neutron stars
We derive the transport relaxation times for quasiparticle-vortex scattering
processes via nuclear force, relevant for the damping of differential rotation
of superfluids in the quantum liquid core of a neutron star. The proton
scattering off the neutron vortices provides the dominant resistive force on
the vortex lattice at all relevant temperatures in the phase where neutrons
only are in the paired state. If protons are superconducting, a small fraction
of hyperons and resonances in the normal state would be the dominant source of
friction on neutron and proton vortex lattices at the core temperatures K.Comment: 5 pages, Revtex, Phys. Rev. D 58, Rapid Communication, in pres
3D Oscillator and Coulomb Systems reduced from Kahler spaces
We define the oscillator and Coulomb systems on four-dimensional spaces with
U(2)-invariant Kahler metric and perform their Hamiltonian reduction to the
three-dimensional oscillator and Coulomb systems specified by the presence of
Dirac monopoles. We find the Kahler spaces with conic singularity, where the
oscillator and Coulomb systems on three-dimensional sphere and two-sheet
hyperboloid are originated. Then we construct the superintegrable oscillator
system on three-dimensional sphere and hyperboloid, coupled to monopole, and
find their four-dimensional origins. In the latter case the metric of
configuration space is non-Kahler one. Finally, we extend these results to the
family of Kahler spaces with conic singularities.Comment: To the memory of Professor Valery Ter-Antonyan, 11 page
