Automatically Generating a Video Based on User Provided Text Input

    Get PDF
Visual stories are a popular format for online storytelling in many contexts. Visualizing text often helps a reader understand the story. There are tools that currently exist which can generate multimedia based on user input text. However, the generated media may not always match the text input and may include images that are diverse in style. This disclosure describes techniques that use generative artificial intelligence to automatically generate images, animation, and audio based on user input text and preferences. The generated assets are combined into a visual story that has a coherent visual theme and that can help viewers understand text-based content better

    Alternate Emergency Application Environment

    Get PDF
The present disclosure describes computer-implemented systems and methods for providing an alternate application environment in emergency situations by allowing a user to use an entry mechanism that is for use in emergency situations (e.g., input an alternative PIN or emergency gesture) to enter a financial or banking application on a user computing device. The input of the emergency entry mechanism may display an alternative application environment that shows alternative information about the user’s accounts, prevents the transfer of funds to another entity, and initiates security measures while the user is in the alternative application environment. As a result, the safety of users of financial and banking applications can be increased, and bad actors can be deterred from accessing users’ financial accounts

Lightweight Companion Application for Onboarding and Verification of New Users for Receiving Digital Payments

    Get PDF
Digital money transfers via payment platforms require that the sender and recipient of the money transfer both be users of the same platform. However, to access payment platform features, users need to install and configure an application on a user device, which some users may be unable or unwilling to do. This disclosure describes a lightweight solution for recipients not yet registered on a payment platform that provides a quick way to get onboarded and verified on the platform, link financial accounts, and receive incoming money transfers. Users who are onboarded via the lightweight solution can at a later time choose to upgrade their experience by downloading the full-featured payment application. At the time of upgrade, recipient information already obtained for the lightweight solution is automatically transferred to the full-featured application, thus reducing configuration effort for the user. The upgrade can enable additional features such as sending money. The described techniques can reduce friction and barriers to the use of the digital payment platform and provide a lightweight mechanism for newly onboarded users to experience the digital platform

Anatomy of musculoskeletal system in the light of the Qur’an and hadith

    Get PDF
The integration of human knowledge between the medical and health care sciences with revealed knowledge was established since the era of Al-Razi (Rhazes), Ibn Sina (Avicenna), Ibn Rushd (Averroes), Al- Zahrawi (Albucasis) and others. However, the glorious period of Islamic medicine gradually declined after the period of 'Abbasiyyah and 'Uthmaniyyah. At present, many scholars tend to separate the modern medicine and the revealed knowledge, resulting in the disconnection between these two fields. There is little to suggest the presence of reference collections that integrate the Qur’an and Hadith with medicine. This review aimed to fill that gap. Relevant Qur’anic verses and authentic Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him; henceforth PBUH) in relation to a specific field in medicine i.e. the anatomy of human musculoskeletal system was extracted. The musculoskeletal system is unique in which it forms the ‘backbone’ of normal human posture. The system plays a vital role in maintaining human daily activities. From this review, it is noted that many Qur’anic verses and Hadith relate to the musculoskeletal system. A few examples include the number human joints and its relationship with the daily prayers (Salah), the daily charitable act recommended to all Muslim, the coccyx bone that is indestructible and shall be the source for human resurrection during the hereafter, and others. These examples necessitate for a more in-depth analysis to enlighten the revealed knowledge from the medical perspective

Development of Planar, Shape-changing Rigid Body Segmentation Process for General Design Profiles

    Get PDF
This work describes the early segmentation results in the progress of a mechanism design process to produce simple planar machines that could approximate a shape change defined by a set of curves with significant differences in arc length.  The design profiles vary from one another by a combination of rigid-body displacement and shape change that includes significant differences in arc length. Where previous rigid-body shape-change work focused on mechanisms composed of rigid links and revolute joints to approximate curves of roughly equal arc length, this work introduces prismatic joints into the mechanisms in order to produce the different desired arc lengths.  The first step is to convert the design profiles into piecewise linear curves, referred to as target profiles. The piecewise linear representation that proves most useful has points identified along the curve at roughly equal distances. The second step is to compare segments of the target profiles seeking those that are best approximated by a common rigid body and those that share curvature similarities allowing for the introduction of a prismatic joint. In the end, a chain of rigid bodies that are joined by pin and prismatic joints can be produced. The chain can closely estimate the shape of a set of design profiles

Purposes of this study were to identify the leadership style of coaches, player satisfaction and relationship between leadership style of the coaches and player satisfaction. This study comprises of 101 basketball players in Malaysian Intervarsity Championship. This study was conducted during the competition season. A descriptive study is used in carrying out this research. Two instruments, revised version Leadership Scale for Sport (RLSS) by Zhang, Jensen and Mann (1997) and Athlete Satisfaction Questionnaire (ASQ) by Chelladurai and Riemer (1997) were used to examined style of coaching behaviors whichuniversity football players preferred and their satisfaction in football team. The data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) The descriptive analysis of the data were analyzed using by means, frequencies, percentage, and standard deviations for each item were found for males, females and each level of sport involvement. For the purpose of correlation, Pearson’s was used. Correlation was done with leadership style against athlete satisfaction. The level of significance was set at p < 0.05. Athletes were more preferred training and instruction coaching behavior which the highest mean score (M = 3.01, SD = .82) and followed by positive feedback coaching behavior (M = 2.94, SD = .85), social consideration coaching behavior (M = 2.87, SD = .86), social support coaching behavior (M = 2.61, SD = .90), democratic coaching behavior (M = 2.37, SD =.92) and autocratic coaching behavior (M = 2.03, SD = .96). Team integration (M = 3.74, SD = .83) was the most important subscale influencing athlete satisfaction in universities basketball team. Analyzed of the mean scores showed that training and instruction (M = 3.65, SD = .84) was the second highest mean scored for athlete satisfaction. The others factors were external agents (M = 2.84, SD = .92) factors most obvious of which are media and local community, the lowest rated satisfied for athlete satisfaction. The overall correlations were moderate and positive indicating a substantial relationship was democratic (r = .407, p <0.01), positive feedback (r = .442, p < 0.01), training and instruction (r = .456, p < 0.01), social consideration (r = .550, p < 0.01), social support (r = .428, p < 0.01) and autocratic (r = .413, p < .0.01)

    Get PDF
Recent spikes in fuel prices and concern regarding greenhouse gas emissions, automotive design engineers are faced with the immediate task of introducing more efficient aerodynamic designs vehicles. The aerodynamic drags of a road vehicle is responsible for a large part of the vehicle’s fuel consumption and contribute up to 50% of the total vehicle fuel consumption at highway speeds. Review on the research performance of active and passive flow control on the vehicle aerodynamic drag reduction is reported in this paper. This review intends to provide information on the current approaches and their efficiency in reducing pressure drag of ground vehicles. The review mainly focuses on the methods employed to prevent or delay air flow separation at the rear end of vehicle. Researches carried out by a number of researchers with regard to active and passive flow controls method on vehicle and their effect on aerodynamic drag in terms of drag coefficient (CD) was highlighted. Passive methods i.e. Vortex Generator (VG), spoiler and splitter and active flow controls i.e. steady blowing, suction and air jet are among the methods had been reviewed. In addition several attempts to couple these flow control methods were also reviewed. Several aspects of aerodynamic drag that need for further investigation as to assist for vehicles aerodynamic design and for practical reasons were highlighted. Progressive research on active flow control was observed due to its flexibility for wide range of application without body shape modification

Effect Of Part Features On Dimensional Accuracy Of FDM Model

    Get PDF
This research investigates the dimensional accuracy of parts produced using the additive manufacturing method of Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM). The fabrication of parts was carried out based on the standard value of process parameter of Stratasys FDM 400MC machine. Parts with four common features of products in different sizes were fabricated in FDM machines using Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) material. Then, the linear dimension of each part feature was measured with a Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) that was repeated for three times. The accuracy of the fabricated part feature was computed by subtracting the nominal dimension of the part (CAD model)with the measured dimension of FDM model. An analysis of sixteen different dimensions of the part feature was identified that parts dimension had a significant effect on the dimensional accuracy of FDM model. In addition, it was found that FDM machine is less accurate in producing a circular shape part such as cylindrical, sphere and hole as the majority of them are out of the machine’s tolerance

    Get PDF
This paper describes a comparison study for the modelling of the unmanned Underwater Glider (UG) using system identification techniques based on two experimental set up. The experimental data obtained from lab tank test and pool test to infer model using a MATLAB System Identification toolbox. The experimental testing of UG only considered the horizontal movement or called as auto-heading. The modeling obtained will be used to design the suitable controller for heading control. The UG will be tested on an open loop system to obtain measured input-output signals. Input and output signals from the system are recorded and analyzed to infer a model using a System Identification MATLAB toolbox. Two models obtained based on data tabulated and verify using mathematical modelling of UG. The parameter of UG come up from the real model of UG and Solidworks software. The Underwater Lab Tank model has better performance which has faster rise time and settling time than swimming pool model and mathematical model
