Milimili. Collecting Parallel Data via Crowdsourcing
We present a methodology for gathering a parallel corpus through
crowdsourcing, which is more cost-effective than hiring professional
translators, albeit at the expense of quality. Additionally, we have made
available experimental parallel data collected for Chechen-Russian and
Fula-English language pairs
Towards Conceptualizing EU Cybersecurity Law. ZEI Discussion Paper C253 2019
The European Union has a wide spectrum of legal instruments
addressing various aspects of cybersecurity, ranging from electronic
communication laws, data protection regulations through network and
information security legislation to instruments dealing with
cybercrime and recommendations on coordinated response to large
scale cyber incidents – all this without having a commonly accepted
definition of cybersecurity
A Case Study on Investigation of Component Age Dependent Reliability Models - EC JRC Network on Use of Probabilistic Safety Assessments (PSA) for Evaluation of Aging Effects to the Safety of Energy Facilities - Task 4
The report presents the results of a case study on "Investigation of component age dependent reliability models" implemented by INPE and JRC IE in the frame of EC JRC Ageing PSA Network Task 4 activities. Several cases of Generalized Linear Model were proposed and investigated for the cases of continues and discrete data. The Fisher Chi-2 minimization approach was applied for goodness of fit test and parameters elaboration. Finally, uncertainty analysis was done for estimated parameters and model extrapolations. The results were analyzed and compared with other approaches.JRC.F.4-Nuclear design safet
Quantum Group Representations and Baxter Equation
In this paper we propose algebraic universal procedure for deriving "fusion
rules" and Baxter equation for any integrable model with
symmetry of Quantum Inverse Scattering Method. Universal Baxter Q- operator is
got from the certain infinite dimensional representation called q-oscillator
one of the Universal R- matrix for affine algebra (first
proposed by V. Bazhanov, S.Lukyanov and A.Zamolodchikov for quantum KdV case).
We also examine the algebraic properties of Q-operator.Comment: 14 pages, Latex file, corrected references and acknowledgment
Scaling laws for single-file diffusion of adhesive particles
Single-file diffusion refers to the Brownian motion in narrow channels where
particles cannot pass each other. In such processes, the diffusion of a tagged
particle is typically normal at short times and becomes subdiffusive at long
times. For hard-sphere interparticle interaction, the time-dependent mean
squared displacement of a tracer is well understood. Here we develop a scaling
theory for adhesive particles. It provides a full description of the
time-dependent diffusive behavior with a scaling function that depends on an
effective strength of adhesive interaction. Particle clustering induced by the
adhesive interaction slows down the diffusion at short times, while it enhances
subdiffusion at long times. The enhancement effect can be quantified in
measurements irrespective of how tagged particles are injected into the system.
Combined effects of pore structure and particle adhesiveness should speed up
translocation of molecules through narrow pores.Comment: 6 pages, 2 figures plus 4 pages, 3 figures in S
Metasurfaces with maximum chirality empowered by bound states in the continuum
We demonstrate that rotationally symmetric chiral metasurfaces can support
arbitrarily sharp resonances with the maximum optical chirality determined by
precise shaping of bound states in the continuum (BICs). Being uncoupled from
one circular polarisation of light and resonantly coupled to its counterpart, a
metasurface hosting the chiral BIC resonance exhibits a narrow peak in the
circular dichroism spectrum. We propose a realization of such chiral BIC
metasurfaces based on pairs of dielectric bars and validate the concept of
maximum chirality by numerical simulation
Probabilistic-Entropic Concept of Sustainable Development of the Example of Territories
Nowadays the problem of sustainable development became one of the topical issues. However, many authors point to conceptual complexity, which is that the concept “sustainable development” includes two terms “development” and “sustainability.” At the same time, each of these terms is treated not unambiguously. It leads to the emergence of different interpretations of sustainable development in relation to specific systems. A new concept of sustainable development of systems is proposed. According to this concept, the sustainable development of a complex multidimensional system will be understood as the dynamics consisting in the presence of a trend of balanced change in the entropies of randomness and self-organization while maintaining an acceptable risk level in multidimensional systems. The proposed concept is approved on practical examples. Dynamics of vector entropy and multidimensional risk of Yekaterinburg and Sverdlovsk regions in 1992–2017 is given
Liquid crystal ordering in the hexagonal phase of rod-coil diblock copolymers
Density functional theory of rod-coil diblock copolymers, developed recently by the authors, has been generalised and used to study the liquid crystal ordering and microphase separation effects in the hexagonal, lamellar and nematic phases. The translational order parameters of rod and coil monomers and the orientational order parameters of rod-like fragments of the copolymer chains have been determined numerically by direct minimization of the free energy. The phase diagram has been derived containing the isotropic, the lamellar and the hexagonal phases which is consistent with typical experimental data. The order parameter profiles as functions of temperature and the copolymer composition have also been determined in different anisotropic phases. Finally, the spatial distributions of the density of rigid rod fragments and of the corresponding orientational order parameter in the hexagonal phase have been calculated
