Numerical representation of the quality measures of triangles and triangular meshes

In this note a new procedure to represent the quality measure for triangles is proposed. The triangles are identified by their three angles and are represented in a bounded domain, called angle representation region, according to the area co-ordinates, which are common and well known by finite element users. The developed representation can also be used in order to visualize the characteristics of any quality measure. This new procedure is extended to graphically represent triangular meshes in the angle representation region

LAS BASES ACTUALES PARA EL ESTUDIO DEL ENEOLÍTICO Y LA EDAD DEL BRONCE EN EL SUDESTE DE LA PENÍNSULA IBÉRICA

Las bases para el estudio del Eneolítico y la Edad del Bronce en el Sudeste de la Península Ibérica se remontan a la segunda mitad del s. XIX.En esas épocas los hermanos Louis y Henri Siret iniciaron sus excavaciones en el Norte de la provincia de Almería; desde Almizaraque y Herrerías extendieron sus excavaciones con el tiempo por toda la provincia de Almería alcanzando al río Andarax donde L. Siret dio a conocer el famoso yacimiento de Los Millares; por el Norte alcanzó a la zona de Mazarrón-Lorca en la provincia de Murcia. Por el Oeste realizó exploraciones por la región de Guadix-Fonelas-Baza en la provincia de Granada, pero nunca se asomó a la Vega de Granada ni al borde Suroeste de dicha provincia y la zona de Jaén quedó practicamente inexplorada

Thermal response of Sanabria lake to global change (NW Spain)

Are large water bodies able to act as sensors of global change? As accumulators of water and heat, some of their thermal characteristics might be altered by long term (decadal) hydrometeorological changes and thus may be used as indicators of the effects of global change on fluvial ecosystems. This work focuses on the effect of global change (climate change plus water quantity and land use changes) in the internal organization of Sanabria Lake, specifically in its thermal annual cycle. The existence of temporal trends in the thermal behaviour of the lake was investigated based on the water temperature profiles are available since 1986. Data analyses include the non-parametric Mann-Kendall trend test and the Sen slope estimate to evaluate long term and seasonal patterns of hydrometeorological and in-lake thermal variables. The main results surprisingly point to a net lake cooling that could be explained by a stronger thermocline and a weaker vertical transfer of heat to the hypolimnion during the stratification period. These results contribute to understand and quantify the effects of global change on Iberian freshwater bodies.Peer ReviewedPostprint (published version
