Aim: to study the state of local immunity and oral hygiene in patients with GP suffering from AN.Materials and methods: 35 patients with AN were examined at the age of 19-35 years. In the study we used immunological methods, an index assessment of the state of oral hygiene (PMA, API, GI).Results and discussion: in patients of I group poor oral hygiene was established. The amount of lysozyme in the oral fluid in I group was 0.014 ± 0.07 g/l. A decrease SIgA (11SIgA) was established in patients of I group: I, II and control (135.31 ± 23.17, 130.26 ± 24.21 and 300.34 ± 27.38 mg/l, respectively). A tendency to an increase in the level of IgG in the oral fluid in patients of group II compared with I and the control group (5.35 ± 0.36, vs. 4.57 ± 0.04 and 4.98 ± 0.23 g/l, respectively) was established. Conclusions: poor oral hygiene is an objective indicator which reflects low motivation to maintain oral health. The observed immunodeficiency (11SIgA) in patients with GP is a mirror image of changes occurring in the body of patients with AN.Aim: to study the state of local immunity and oral hygiene in patients with GP suffering from AN.Materials and methods: 35 patients with AN were examined at the age of 19-35 years. Critical behavior of three-dimensional magnets with complicated ordering from three-loop renormalization-group expansions

The critical behavior of a model describing phase transitions in 3D antiferromagnets with 2N-component real order parameters is studied within the renormalization-group (RG) approach. The RG functions are calculated in the three-loop order and resummed by the generalized Pade-Borel procedure preserving the specific symmetry properties of the model. An anisotropic stable fixed point is found to exist in the RG flow diagram for N > 1 and lies near the Bose fixed point; corresponding critical exponents are close to those of the XY model. The accuracy of the results obtained is discussed and estimated.Comment: 10 pages, LaTeX, revised version published in Phys. Rev.

Common Causes of Vertigo and Dizziness in Different Age Groups of Patients

    Get PDF
© 2016, Springer Science+Business Media New York.Dizziness and vertigo are among the most common symptoms occurring in clinical practice. However, the data on the main causes of dizziness and vertigo remain contradictory. We have analyzed the causes of dizziness in 590 outpatients who were referred to the neurologist. The most common causes of vertigo and dizziness in outpatient practice were benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) (33.9 %), phobic postural vertigo (PPV) (21.4 %), Ménière’s disease/delayed endolymphatic hydrops (20 %), vestibular neuronitis/labyrinthitis (8.1 %), and vestibular migraine (4.1 %). Stroke as a cause of vertigo or dizziness was diagnosed only in 0.8 % of patients. Peripheral vestibular disorders were the most frequent cause of vertigo and dizziness in all age groups of patients: in patients younger than 45 years they were diagnosed in 57 % and in patients older than 60 years in 63.3 % of cases. PPV was the second most common cause of dizziness in patients younger than 45 years (37.4 %) but was established only in 7.6 % of patients older than 60 years. Most of the causes of vertigo and dizziness can be reliably diagnosed with bedside examination while laboratory investigation can be considered as an important but complementary entity

A wider Europe? The view from Russia, Belarus and Ukraine

On the evidence of national surveys conducted between 2000 and 2006, there is a declining sense of European self-identity in the three Slavic post-Soviet republics of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. Attitudes towards the European Union and the possibility of membership are broadly supportive, but with a substantial proportion who find it difficult to express a view, and substantial proportions are poorly informed in comparison with the general public in EU member or prospective member countries. Those who are better informed are more likely to favour EU membership and vice versa. Generally, socioeconomic characteristics (except for age and region) are relatively poor predictors of support for EU membership as compared with attitudinal variables. But ‘Europeanness’ should not be seen as a given, and much will depend on whether EU member countries emphasize what is common to east and west or establish ‘new dividing lines’ in place of those of the cold war

The purpose of this investigation was to study the ethnic peculiarities of sleep disorders in European and Mongoloid races living in Eastern Siberia. In this study we performed questioning of409 respondents of Europeans (Russian) 203 (49.63 %) and Mongoloid (Buryats) 206 (50.37 %) aged 20-60 years. Living in the Irkutsk region and the Buryat Republic. Gender structure: 270females (66.9 %) and 125 males (33.1 %). Standard questionnaire of Stanford Sleep Research Center (USA) included a complex of questions about problems of sleep and their subjective assessment: no problems; light problem, moderate problem, severe problem. PSG-monitoring applying system GRASSTELEFACTOR Twin PSG (Comet) with amplifier As 40 with integrated module for sleep SPM-1 (USA). It was revealed that "light" sleep problems note 25.1 % of native ethnic group respondents (Buryats) and 38.3 % of Russian respondents (p < 0.05). The moderate sleep disorders were characteristic of 8.7 % Buryats and 3.1 % Russian (p < 0.05), and the severe sleep disorders 5.3 % and 2.2 %, respectively (p < 0.05). Severe sleep disorders noted 7.2 % Buryat women versus 1.8 % in the group of Russian women (p < 0.05), among men the severe sleep disorders is significantly higher (23.8 % in the Buryats and Russian 14.6 %, p < 0.05). We identified correlation between body mass index (BMI) and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in males of Mongoloid race (with OSA BMI was 33.37 kg/cm2, without 24.86 kg/cm2, p < 0.05). According to the results of the PSG study in males of the both ethnic groups, a higher incidence of moderate and severe OSA in the Buryats (28.2 % and 20.1 %, respectively, p < 0.05). In general, these results confirm the presence of more severe sleep disorders in Mongoloids (including OSA), but certain anatomical features for the formation of OSA we have not found, that require further study

    Positive Quantum Brownian Evolution

Using the independent oscillator model with an arbitrary system potential, we derive a quantum Brownian equation assuming a correlated total initial state. Although not of Lindblad form, the equation preserves positivity of the density operator on a restricted set of initial states

We conduct the comparative study of the impact of biogenic metals citrates such as zinc, magnesium, iron obtained using nanotechnology, on growth of mycelium and biosynthetical activity of medicinal fungi Trametes versicolor at their cultivation in a liquid medium. To characterize the biosynthetic activity, we determine mass fraction of organic acids, exopolysaccharides concentration of phenolsulfate method, the protein content by Lowry, cellulolytic activity in carboxymethylcellulose (CMC-activity) and filter paper (FP-activity). We select concentration of citrate biogenic metals (0,3 g/dm³), whose use contributed to a higher concentration of biomass T. versicolor by 2,5 times. We demonstrate that citrates of magnesium and zinc stimulated production of T. versicolor biomass, citrates of magnesium increased the protein content and CMC-activity, the iron citrate promoted the exopolysaccharides synthesis of T. versicolor. We determine the use of essential biometals nanocitrates in the nutrient medium positively effects biosynthetic properties of the medicinal mushroom T. versicolor. It reveals an opportunity to modify the macro-and microelement composition of mushroom mycelium in the future.Статья посвящена изучению влияния цитратов биогенных металлов цинка, магния, железа, полученных с помощью нанотехнологий, на рост и биосинтетические свойства лекарственного гриба Trametes versicolor при выращивании в глубинных условиях. Tricritical behavior of the frustrated XY antiferromagnet

Extensive histogram Monte-Carlo simulations of the XY antiferromagnet on a stacked triangular lattice reveal exponent estimates which strongly favor a scenario of mean-field tricritical behavior for the spin-order transition. The corresponding chiral-order transition occurs at the same temperature but appears to be decoupled from the spin-order. These results are relevant to a wide class of frustrated systems with planar-type order and serve to resolve a long-standing controversy regarding their criticality.Comment: J1K 2R1 4 pages (RevTex 3.0), 4 figures available upon request, Report# CRPS-94-0
