Praktyki zawodowe jako źródło informacji o rynku pracy i usług z zakresu tłumaczeń prawniczych w Barcelonie

In this paper we present our methodological approach that enabled us, as a co-ordinator of translation internships, to gather relevant information about major tendencies in the labour market and legal translation services market in the area of Barcelona city (Spain). In the first part of the paper we explain how we understand the relationship between universities, employees and professional groups. Later on, we present results of the studies dealing with the employment of the graduates from translation programmes and the classification of job profiles in the translation activities in Barcelona. In the second part of the paper, we include results of our analysis based on data collected between 2006-2009, from post-graduate courses, during our previous function as a co-ordinator of legal translation internships in the Department of Translation and Interpreting (Departament de Traduccio i d’Interpretacio), Autonomous University of Barcelona (Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona - UAB). We conclude by exposing principal tendencies in the labour market and legal translation services market in Barcelona, and propose several strategies for future modifications.W niniejszym artykule pokazujemy od strony metodologicznej, w jaki sposób koordynowanie praktyk zawodowych pozwala na zebranie informacji dotyczących ogólnych tendencji rozwoju rynku pracy i usług z zakresu tłumaczeń prawniczych dla wybranego obszaru geograficznego (Barcelona). Wykorzystujemy przykłady zebrane przez autorkę podczas koordynowania praktyk z zakresu tłumaczeń prawniczych na poziomie studiów podyplomowych w latach 2006–2009 w Zakładzie Tłumaczeń Pisemnych i Ustnych (Departament de Traducció i d’Interpretació) Autonomicznego Uniwersytetu w Barcelonie (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona)

Conceptualizing translation in Poland in 2018

This paper aims to provide an account of our survey on the semiotic nature of the concept of translation among young Polish native speakers. The methodological strategy adopted is a con­structive replication of Sandra Halverson’s survey conducted in Norway in 1997. We claim, in our main hypothesis (stemming from a theoretical background of prototype semantics, which we used for measuring our object), that the concept of translation is not uniform and includes different semiotic types of translation, some of which are perceived as central (prototypical), and others as peripheral. According to our additional hypothesis, young Polish native speakers have a broad notion of translation (encompassing a wide range of intralingual and intersemiotic translations), even broader than their Norwegian counterparts, more than twenty years ago. Our data has been collected in 2018 using a seven-item questionnaire (seven different text pairs) with a seven-value scale from 103 subjects. While the main hypothesis has been confirmed, the additional hypothesis was rejected, with Polish respondents conceiving the concept of translation more narrowly. The methodological format of a replication produced an ambivalent effect: on the one hand, it yielded positive incentive, and on the other hand, it became our principal hindrance

Vinylphosphonium and 2-aminovinylphosphonium salts – preparation and applications in organic synthesis

The main synthetic routes towards vinylphosphonium salts and their wide applications in organic synthesis are discussed in this review. Particular attention is paid to the use of these compounds as building blocks for the synthesis of carbo- and heterocyclic systems after their prior transformation into the corresponding phosphorus ylides, followed by the intramolecular Wittig reaction with various types of nucleophiles containing a carbonyl function in their structures

Diethyl 1-(<i>N</i>-acetylamino)-1-(diphenylphosphinoyl)-1-phenylmethylphosphonate

Diethyl 1-(N-acetylamino)-1-(diphenylphosphinoyl)-1-phenylmethylphosphonate was synthesized at room temperature, starting from 1-ethoxy derivative of diethyl 1-(N-acetylamino)-1-phenylmethylphosphonate via the corresponding phosphonium salt as a reactive intermediate in the Michaelis–Arbuzov-like reaction with methyl diphenylphosphinite. The structure of the compound obtained was confirmed by spectroscopic techniques (1H, 13C, 31P NMR, IR, and MS)

Zasady postępowania ortopedycznego w złośliwych nowotworach kości w wieku rozwojowym

Primary bone sarcomas are not frequent entities, but constitute important issue especially in pediatric population. Advances in chemotherapy and diagnostic modalities allowed limb saving resections of malignant bone tumors became leading surgical option. To be successful the treatment of primary bone tumors should be conducted in dedicated centers by experienced team of specialists. Nevertheless, the rules of such treatment should be known widely to improve diagnosis, medical care over oncologic patient and communication between specialists. In this review paper the authors present current rules of surgical approach to bony malignancies in children and adolescents.Złośliwe nowotwory układu ruchu są rzadkimi, lecz istotnymi klinicznie chorobami, szczególnie w populacji pediatrycznej. Postępy w skuteczności leczenia chemioterapeutycznego oraz poprawa możliwości diagnostycznych spowodowały zastąpienie amputacji operacjami oszczędzającymi kończyny w chirurgicznym leczeniu guzów kości. Choć leczenie tych chorób powinno być prowadzone w specjalistycznych centrach, wiedza o zasadach postępowania w złośliwych nowotworach kości powinna być szeroko znana, dla poprawy procesu diagnostycznego, opieki nad pacjentem onkologicznym i ułatwienia komunikacji między medycznymi profesjonalistami. W niniejszym przeglądzie autorzy przybliżają zasady chirurgicznego postępowania w złośliwych nowotworach układu ruchu u dzieci i młodzieży
