    Non Inverted Isothermal Equation of state for NaCl-CsCl type Crystals

    The Pressure-Volume-temperature(P-V-T) relation using non inverted equation of state (EOS) viz. Murnaghan EOS, Usual-Tait EOS, Vinet EOS, Born-Mayer EOS, Birch EOS, Kumar EOS, Shanker EOS, Brennan Stacey EOS, Poirier- Tarantola EOS, Universal EOS and Freund & Ingalls EOS for NaCl-CsCl type crystals has been studied. It is found that except Murnaghan EOS, Brennan-Stacey EOS and Poirier Tarantola EOS all other EOS gives close agreement with each other even at high compression ranges. Also another remarkable characteristic observed when the value of compression decreases from 0.5 the variation in value of pressure as calculated by different EOS increases

    Livestock Sector in North-Eastern Region of India: An Appraisal of Performance

    Although agriculture is the prime source of livelihood for a majority of rural population in the North-Eastern region (NER) of India, dependence on livestock as an alternative source of income is significant. Responding to the burgeoning demand for livestock products in a sustainable manner is a big challenge. The widening gap between the demand and supply of livestock products can be met through bringing out changes in the production structure or opening up the international trade. In this context, an analysis of performance and factors influencing development of the livestock sector in NER has been carried out. The growth of livestock sector has been found slower in the NER than at the national level. However, a significant proportion of landless labourers, small and marginal farmers have access to livestock resources and acceleration in the growth of livestock in NER offers significant opportunities for household income augmentation and employment generation. Several factors identified to influence households’ decision to rear livestock include availability of labour, occupation, caste, farm-size, availability of irrigation, and access to information sources. The study has shown that the NE states should take technical, institutional and policy initiatives for the improvement of breeds, feed availability, disease control and food safety of livestock.Livestock Production/Industries,

    Pendidikan merupakan fondasi penting yang menopang kemajuan suatu bangsa. Kualitas dan sistem pendidikan yang ada menjadi tolok ukur kemajuan negara tersebut. Tanpa pendidikan, suatu negara akan tertinggal jauh dari negara-negara lainnya. Dalam era pendidikan 4.0, pemanfaatan teknologi digital dalam proses pembelajaran menjadi sangat penting. Salah satu contohnya adalah penggunaan sistem absensi berbasis komputer untuk meningkatkan disiplin belajar siswa. Namun, masih ada beberapa sekolah yang menggunakan sistem absensi manual, seperti yang terjadi di SMAN 1 Kurik. Sistem absensi manual sering mengalami masalah seperti kertas basah, hilang, rusak, atau tercecer. Hal ini menyulitkan pihak sekolah dalam mencatat kehadiran siswa dan mengolah data absensi untuk laporan rapot. Oleh karena itu, penulis bertujuan untuk merancang sebuah sistem informasi pencatatan absensi siswa berbasis website yang dapat mendukung proses absensi di sekolah. Dengan adanya sistem ini, diharapkan pihak sekolah dapat dengan mudah melaporkan informasi kehadiran siswa. Penulis berupaya untuk menggantikan sistem absensi manual yang kurang efektif dengan sistem absensi yang terkomputerisasi. Dengan demikian, diharapkan efisiensi dan efektivitas dalam mengelola absensi siswa dapat ditingkatkan, serta memudahkan proses pengolahan data untuk keperluan administrasi sekolah

    A port is a location on a coast or shore containing one or more dock ships and transfer people or cargo to or from land. Port locations are selected to optimize access to land and navigable water, for commercial demand, and for shelter from wind and waves. Indonesia as an archipelago countrywould make the port has a very strategic and vital role. Indonesia has many ports that exist since colonial ages and still remain operational, one of which is Camat Port. The purpose of this study is to know the history of the port in Selatpanjang that being one and only port since Dutch Colonial Ages until 1990s. the method was descriptive method, where data were collected through interviews, documentation and literature (library studies). Data analysis was done by qualitative. Time the study began after the publication of the research license until the completion of the last revision of the essay writer. The results showed that the Camat Port in Selatpanjang formerly named is Boom Selatpanjang which has a very long history. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the first built by the Dutch Colonial Government to facilitate Ducth Colonial access towards Selatpanjang

    Pengaruh Pembelajaran Berbasis Turnamen dan Games terhadap Motivasi Belajar Siswa

    The purpose of this paper is to determine the role of tournaments and games-based learning in improving students' motivation. The method used in this research is quasi experimental study (quasi-experiment). Shape design experiments is the one shot case study. Subjects in this study is graders X.1 MA Ahmad Yani Jabung using tournaments and games-based learning. Data collection techniques in this study using a closed questionnaire. The data analysis in this research is descriptive analysis and T test (t-test) using SPSS 16.0 software for windows. Based on the results of the study the average score of student motivation before using tournaments and games-based learning is 72.55. While the average score of students' motivation after the tournament and games-based learning is 74.35. Hypothesis test results showed that the number P-value for the t-test is 0.001. This means that 0.001 <0.05, it can be concluded that the tournaments and games-based learning significantly influence students' motivation to learn geography. Based on these results the researchers recommend tournaments and games-based learning can be applied in the classroom to the students, especially the subjects of geography.Tujuan dari penulisan ini yaitu untuk mengetahui peran pembelajaran berbasis turnamen dan games dalam peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu penelitian quasi experiment (eksperimen semu). Bentuk desain eksperimennya adalah one shot case study. Subjek dalam penelitian ini merupakan siswa kelas X.1 MA Ahmad Yani Jabung dengan menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis turnamen dan games. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini dengan menggunakan angket tertutup. Analisis data pada penelitian ini yaitu analisis deskriptif dan uji T (t-test) dengan menggunakan software SPSS 16.0 for windows. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian rata-rata skor motivasi siswa sebelum menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis turnamen dan games yaitu 72,55. Sedangkan rata-rata skor motivasi belajar siswa setelah pembelajaran berbasis turnamen dan games yaitu 74,35. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa angka P-value untuk t-test yaitu 0,001. Hal ini berarti 0,001 < 0,05, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis turnamen dan games berpengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar geografi siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut peneliti merekomendasikan pembelajaran berbasis turnamen dan games dapat diterapkan di kelas pada siswa terutama mata pelajaran geografi

    The purpose of this study is to investigate the interaction effect compost fertilizer and multiple doses of NPK fertilizer as well as getting the best treatment between compost fertilizer and NPK fertilizer on the growth of oil palm (Elais guinensis Jacq.) immature phase II. This research has been conducted in experimental gardens Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau Jl. Bina Widya Baru Simpang KM 12.5, Tampan, Pekanbaru. This research was conducted for 4 months starting in mid-Maret 2015 until mid-Juli 2016 , research was conducted with a Randomized complete Block Design (RCBD) factorial consisting of two factors, The first factor is the compost (K), which consists of three composision K0 = compost of 0 g/plant K1= TKKS and restaurant waste compost K2= rice straw compost and market waste second factor is the dose NPK fertilizer which consists of three levels ie M0 = NPK fertilizer dose of 0 g / plant M1 = NPK fertilizer dose of 750 g / plant M2 = fertilizer NPK dose of 1500 g / plant. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and extended with further research into the standard 5% DNMRT. Parameter observation is the increase of plant height (cm), number of leaves (leaf), girth (cm), midrib length (cm) and total frond (leaf). The results showed composting TKKS + garbage restaurants 7000 g / plant and NPK1500 gram / best plants at as height and length midrib while straw + junk market 7000 g / plant and NPK1500 gram / best plants for parameter number of leaves, girth and number of fronds immature oil palm plants

    A prospective observational study of foetal outcome in twin pregnancy delivering at a tertiary health care center of South Gujarat

    Background: Worldwide increased incidence of twin gestation. The rates of twin gestation have a direct effect on the rates of preterm birth and its co-morbidities. Importantly, this increased risk applies to each fetus and is not simply the result of more foetuses.Methods: This prospective study was carried out in department of obstetrics and gynaecology. 100 consecutive subjects fulfilling inclusion criteria   admitted to labour room and obstetrics intensive care enrolled over a period of around 1 year.Results: In this study twin delivery accounted for 1.3% of all delivery at our institute. On analysing neonatal morbidities Prematurity was commonest 65%, VLBW (23% first twin, 30% second twin), RDS (9% first twin, 13% second twin), birth asphyxia (7% first twin, 12% second twin), neonatal hyperbilirubinemia (7% first twin, 8% second twin). 34% of first twin and 40% of second twin required NICU admission. Early neonatal death observed in 6% of first twin and 8% of second twin. It was observed that proportion of neonatal complications was more in MCDA as compared to DCDA and in un-booked subjects as compared to booked subjects. This difference is statistically significant among both twin (p value<0.05).Conclusions: Twin pregnancy is associated with high perinatal morbidity. Specialized obstetrics and Intensive Neonatal care can decrease neonatal morbidity and mortality in twin gestation. We need to be extra vigilant in monochorionic twins and twin pregnancy with inadequate antenatal care

    Kloniranje, izražajnost i pročišćavanje bjelančevine 28 iz vanjske membrane Salmonelle enterice serovar Typhimurium za razvoj podjediničnog cjepiva - kratko priopćenje

    Salmonella Typhimurium, a major gastrointestinal pathogen, poses a global threat to human health. Public health problems associated with this organism have increased to the extent that it has become a major issue. The bacterium is becoming resistant to the commonly available antibiotics, and vaccines also suffer from limitations such as short lived immunity. Therefore, there is an urgent need for the development of an effective vaccine. The outer membrane proteins (Omps) of Salmonella have proven their capability to be developed as a vaccine candidate for prevention of salmonellosis. With this aim, in the present study the Omp28 gene of Salmonella Typhimurium was amplified, cloned and expressed under an IPTG induction system. The recombinant protein thus produced was purified and tested for its antigenicity. The antigenicity of the purified protein was confirmed by western blotting with antiserum raised in rabbit against Omps of S. Typhimurium. The Omp28 gene was amplified as a 330bp product. The expressed protein was found to be of approximately 28kDa and it produced a strong signal in western blot analysis. This study concluded that Omp28 may be proven to be an effective candidate for the development of r-DNA vaccine against salmonellosis.Salmonella Typhimurium glavni je gastrointestinalni patogen koji je globalna prijetnja ljudskome zdravlju. Javnozdravstveni problemi povezani s ovim organizmom povećali su se do te mjere da je postao glavno pitanje na koje se traže brojni odgovori. Bakterija postaje otporna na najčešće dostupne antibiotike, a ograničavajuća uporaba cjepiva povezana je s kratkotrajnim imunitetom. Zbog toga postoji hitna potreba za razvoj učinkovitog cjepiva. Vanjske bjelančevine membrane (engl. Outer membrane proteins, Omps) salmonele dokazale su svoju sposobnost kandidata za razvoj cjepiva koje bi se koristilo u prevenciji salmoneloze. S tim je ciljem u ovom radu, pod uvjetima IPTG indukcijskog sustava, provedeno umnažanje i kloniranje te provjerena izražajnost gena za Omp28 iz Salmonelle Typhimurium. Tako dobivena rekombinantna bjelančevina pročišćena je i testirana s obzirom na antigenu sposobnost. Antigena sposobnost pročišćene bjelančevine potvrđena je uporabom Western blot metode s antiserumom protiv Omps-a iz S. Typhimurium dobivenim od zeca. Genom Omp28 umnožen je kao 330bp produkt. Bjelančevina je imala približno 28 kDa i Western blot analizom pokazala je izraženost jakog signala. Ovim je istraživanjem zaključeno da Omp28 može poslužiti kao učinkoviti kandidat za razvoj r-DNA cjepiva protiv salmoneloze

    Multiscale and multimodal X-ray analysis: Quantifying phase orientation and morphology of mineralized turkey leg tendons

    Fibrous biocomposites like bone and tendons exhibit a hierarchical arrangement of their components ranging from the macroscale down to the molecular level. The multiscale complex morphology, together with the correlated orientation of their constituents, contributes significantly to the outstanding mechanical properties of these biomaterials. In this study, a systematic road map is provided to quantify the hierarchical structure of a mineralized turkey leg tendon (MTLT) in a holistic multiscale evaluation by combining micro-Computed Tomography (micro-CT), small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), and wide-angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD). We quantify the interplay of the main MTLT components with respect to highly ordered organic parts such as fibrous collagen integrating inorganic components like hydroxyapatite (HA). The microscale fibrous morphology revealing different types of porous features and their orientation was quantified based on micro-CT investigations. The quantitative analysis of the alignment of collagen fibrils and HA crystallites was established from the streak-like signal in SAXS using the Ruland approach and the broadening of azimuthal profiles of the small and wide-angle diffraction peaks. It has been in general agreement that HA crystallites are co-aligned with the nanostructure of mineralized tissue. However, we observe relatively lower degree of orientation of HA crystallites compared to the collagen fibrils, which supports the recent findings of the structural interrelations within mineralized tissues. The generic multiscale characterization approach of this study is relevant to any hierarchically structured biomaterials or bioinspired materials from the μm-nm-Å scale. Hence, it gives the basis for future structure-property relationship investigations and simulations for a wide range of hierarchically structured materials
