The degradation of lining of rotary furnaces in the production of zinc oxide

    Get PDF
This paper is closely connected with the complex problem of degradation relating to the refractories of rotary furnace linings in the production of zinc oxide. Zinc oxide can be produced by variety of ways, but the most common method of production which is used in Europe is indirect, i.e. pyrolytic combustion of zinc. This method is also called "French process" of manufacturing ZnO. But this mentioned method of preparation leads to the creation of the enormous amount of zinc slag including chemical complexes of elements Fe, Zn and Al. The mechanism of degradation of the lining leads to slag rests and it is closely connected with the mutual interaction of the aggressive agents with the components of the lining. This process creates a new undesired surface layer which increased the overall thickness of zinc slag. Stuck slag has the influence on rapid degradation of the linings and moreover it also decreases the production quality of ZnO. Analysis results introduced in this paper are significant information for minimizing of degradation of rotary furnaces.

Improving vehicle adaptability to the operating conditions of "smart" cities in the northern regions

The paper reviews a relevant problem of providing a higher quality of people’s living in the northern regions by the application of the modern technologies within transport in order to improve its environmental performance and efficiency. The aim of the research is to substantiate methods of increasing the adaptability of vehicles to variable low-temperature operating conditions based on a neural control system of preheating and maintaining the optimum temperature of technological fluids by SHF radiation and improving diesel fuel properties by introducing a multifunctional additive. It has been found that SHF radiation influences the physical and chemical parameters of diesel fuel, as well as the engine output parameters. SHF radiation results in a reduction of fuel consumption to 7%, smoke from the exhaust to 15%, and nitrogen oxide emission to 30%. A conclusion is made that using SHF radiation for technological fuel preheating is essential. An approach has been developed that improves low-temperature properties of diesel fuels and increases engine operation efficiency under severe climatic conditions by introducing a multifunctional additive. The additive will enable a significant decrease in fuel consumption under low-temperature operating conditions and a complex improvement of fuel properties

Model and Algorithm for Substantiating Solutions for Organization of High-Rise Construction Project

    No full text
In the paper the models and the algorithm for the optimal plan formation for the organization of the material and logistical processes of the high-rise construction project and their financial support are developed. The model is based on the representation of the optimization procedure in the form of a non-linear problem of discrete programming, which consists in minimizing the execution time of a set of interrelated works by a limited number of partially interchangeable performers while limiting the total cost of performing the work. The proposed model and algorithm are the basis for creating specific organization management methodologies for the high-rise construction project

Enterprise product sales market selection model

Efficient sales logistics is the foundation of sustainability of enterprises in the real economy. This is due to the fact that it is the closing link in the logistics system, production of goods and provides a choice of distribution channels and their participants. The choice of distribution channels, first of all, involves the determination of markets for the products manufactured by the enterprise. Due to the need to ensure the effectiveness of this choice of taking into account a large number of various factors, the solution to this problem involves the use of formalized models and techniques. The article proposes a model and methodology that provides a reasonable choice of markets for the products of an enterprise in the real sector of the economy at the initial stage of forming its marketing logistics strategy. The model is based on a formal apparatus of statistical conclusions based on nonparametric statistics. This made it possible to take into account the inherent uncertainty of the source information inherent in the considered selection problem. The proposed model may be useful for digitalization in the field of logistics management of enterprises in the real sector of the economy

Efficiency of ensuring the survivability of logistics information and control systems

    No full text
The article proposes a methodological approach to assessing the effectiveness of measures to ensure the survivability of management systems for logistics business processes. The effectiveness of these measures is determined as the degree of preservation of the capabilities of control systems to perform their functions under the conditions of destructive influences. It is proposed to use a function as an indicator of effectiveness, the argument of which is the change in the duration of the control cycle associated with the need to restore the operability of the control system after destructive influences. The proposed approach forms the basis for constructing mathematical models of decision support for the choice of means and methods of ensuring survivability for a wide class of management systems for logistic business processes

Conceptual provisions for assessing the effectiveness of energy saving

    No full text
The article discusses the conceptual provisions for assessing the effectiveness of the company’s energy saving. It clarifies the concept of “energy efficiency”, and the place of efficiency in the system of characteristics reflecting the quality of the company’s energy management. It is shown that the efficiency is advisable to be considered as a characteristic of the targeted implementation process of the company’s energy management of the relevant energy conservation measures. It reflects the degree of utilization of potential opportunity allocated for the implementation of these activities to achieve the company’s energy saving goals. That is, the efficiency is only one, although very important, aspect of assessing the quality of the company’s energy management. A general approach is proposed for the construction of performance indicators for the creation of models and methods of decision-making support in the process of planning energy saving measures. This approach is based on the requirements that the performance indicators should be measurable and, at the same time, reflect the goal in the name of which energy conservation measures are implemented in the company, accurately reflect the results of these measures, depending on the resources allocated for their implementation, and also consider the synergistic effects of their interaction

Comparing investment projects of innovative developing strategies of municipalities, based on a set of indicators

A method of comparison by a set of indicators which show the quality of investment projects and embody innovative policy of developing municipal entities is proposed. The method is based on establishing preferences for individual quality indicators of projects in accordance with the principle of maximum uncertainty (entropy) and representing their aggregate in the form of a scalar function as an argument of the vector
