Augmented reality device for first response scenarios

    Get PDF
A prototype of a wearable computer system is proposed and implemented using commercial off-shelf components. The system is designed to allow the user to access location-specific information about an environment, and to provide capability for user tracking. Areas of applicability include primarily first response scenarios, with possible applications in maintenance or construction of buildings and other structures. Necessary preparation of the target environment prior to system\u27s deployment is limited to noninvasive labeling using optical fiducial markers. The system relies on computational vision methods for registration of labels and user position. With the system the user has access to on-demand information relevant to a particular real-world location. Team collaboration is assisted by user tracking and real-time visualizations of team member positions within the environment. The user interface and display methods are inspired by Augmented Reality1 (AR) techniques, incorporating a video-see-through Head Mounted Display (HMD) and fingerbending sensor glove.*. 1Augmented reality (AR) is a field of computer research which deals with the combination of real world and computer generated data. At present, most AR research is concerned with the use of live video imagery which is digitally processed and augmented by the addition of computer generated graphics. Advanced research includes the use of motion tracking data, fiducial marker recognition using machine vision, and the construction of controlled environments containing any number of sensors and actuators. Z kart dziejów bydgoskiej oświaty 1830/1945-2008

The genesis of education in Bydgoszcz, including Polish and German, springs from the operation of schools in the Middle Ages. After 1466, parish schools still played the main role; municipal and monastic, especially Jesuit, schools existed as well. Public people’s schools educated pupils in the elementary rangę. The schools in Bydgoszcz were of multidenominational character. In the period of the partitions of Poland, the operation of education developed in accordance with the policy of the German authorities. It is assumed that the oldest elementary school in Bydgoszcz, within the city limits until the year 1918, was the school established in 1830 in the building in 82 Dworcowa Street. Polish education in Bydgoszcz derived models from rich and extensive traditions - traditions of the Polish independent ideas and traditions of independent operations, organie work traditions, and social activist traditions - dating back to the 19,h century, the epoch of national captivity and collective resistance against the partitioners. The years 1945-1989 in Bydgoszcz in the period of the Polish People’s Republic are issues of education reconstruction, formation of the school authorities and administration, as well as reconstruction and development of education in a communist State. The history of education in Bydgoszcz is not sufficiently compiled, and it reąuires a comprehensive monographic, and later synthetic study. The changing networks and districts of schools from their establishment to the year 1989 need to be researched. During political transformations in Poland after the year 1989, education organisation and structure were changed completely. The transformations forced the necessity to adapt the education system to the new conditions and needs of the democratic State. Besides State schools, later self-govemment schools called public, many different non-public, social and private schools and education institutions were established. Numerous education associations, associations for the managerial personnel, were established and they started to run non-public schools and institutions. This article is a contribution to the history of education in Bydgoszcz illustrated with an example of two typical public schools: Primary School No. 29 and Middle School No. 3 in Bydgoszcz, functioning in the Bydgoszcz self-govemment education system. The education operation of both schools in Bydgoszcz is presented here as an example of the didactic-educational process of self-govemment schools in Bydgoszcz, with an emphasis that each school is different, has its own tradition, and is active in different communities and districts of the city

    Apomorfina w zaawansowanej chorobie Parkinsona

In 1920, under the decisions of the Treaty of Versailles, Bydgoszcz returned to the motherland. Along with the regions of Kuyavia and Pomerania, the city was taken over by the troops of general Józef Haller. At the head of his army, the general moved into the city. He became a symbol of the establishment of Polish power, gaining general liking of the residents. Under his command, Bydgoszcz residents fought in the ranks of the ”Blue Army”, and later in the Polish-Bolshevik war in 1920. In the inter-war period, the tradition of fame and memory of the "Blue General" was cultivated vy the Pomeranian Council of the Association of General Haller's Soldiers, which was seated in Bydgoszcz. During World War Two, a part of his soldiers participated in the fight for Poland's freedeom.  After the war, general Haller shared the emigrant's fate and stayed in London till the end of his life. When the communists had taken power in Poland, it was impossible to cultivate the memory of the merits of the "emigration" general. Revival of the operation of patriotic organisations, including the Association of General Haller's Soldiers, was forbidden. The democratic transformations in Poland after the year 1989 allowed operation of different associations and communities, Haller organistations as well. In 2000, the Polish General Haller and His Soldiers Memorial Association was established in Jurczyce, the birthplace of general Józef Haller. Bydgoszcz residents also participated in the establishment of this association. One of the branches of the General Józef Haller and His Soldiers Memorial Association was established in Bydgoszcz. The main goal of this association was propagation of the fame and memory of general Józef Haller and his soldiers amidst Bydgoszcz residents, especially school youth. The associaion took many educational-patriotic documentation initiatives. It was active in the years 2000-2013. &nbsp

Zespół Guillaina-Barrégo jako pierwsza manifestacja zespołu POEMS

    Get PDF
POEMS syndrome is a rare multisystem disorder, characterized by the presence of polyneuropathy, organomegaly, endocrinopathy, monoclonal protein and skin changes. The variety of clinical pictures and asynchronous manifestation of dominant features make diagnosis difficult. We report a case of a 42-year-old man with polyneuropathy who was initially negative for monoclonal protein and so Guillain-Barré syndrome was diagnosed. Other signs and symptoms, including monoclonal gammopathy, developed later in the course of the disease and finally POEMS syndrome was diagnosed.Zespół POEMS należy do rzadkich chorób układowych, charakteryzujących się występowaniem polineuropatii, organomegalii, endokrynopatii, obecnością białka monoklonalnego i zmian skórnych. Różnorodny obraz kliniczny oraz niewystępowanie głównych objawów w jednym czasie znacznie utrudniają i opóźniają diagnostykę. W pracy przedstawiono przypadek 42-letniego mężczyzny z obwodową polineuropatią, u którego początkowo nie stwierdzono obecności białka monoklonalnego i rozpoznano zespół Guillaina-Barrègo. Później ujawniły się inne objawy i ostatecznie rozpoznano zespół POEMS
