Objective. To determine the relationship between digital marketing and customer loyalty in the development of commercial sustainability in the province of Tarma, Junín region (Peru). Methods. The research had a quantitative approach and was of basic type, correlational level and non-experimental-cross-sectional design; two instruments were used: the digital marketing questionnaire and the customer loyalty questionnaire. The first questionnaire consisted of 12 items referring to the dimensions of digital marketing and the second consisted of 15 items referring to the dimensions of customer loyalty. The sample consisted of 120 customers of commercial establishments in the province of Tarma. Results. 47.5 % of respondents considered that the implementation of digital marketing in commercial establishments is regular, 36.7 % considered that there is a low implementation and only 15.8 % considered that there is a high implementation of digital marketing. Referring to the customer loyalty questionnaire, 63.3 % considered that customer loyalty in commercial establishments occurs regularly, 21.7 % considered that customer loyalty is high and 15 % considered that customer loyalty is low. Conclusion. There is a direct and statistically significant relationship between digital marketing and customer loyalty in the development of sustainability in the province of Tarma, Junín region.Objetivo. <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Human papillomavirus (HPV) has been associated with several disorders of the genital tract, skin and oropharynx. The aims of our study were to evaluate the prevalence of HPV infection in women between 15 and 54 years of age in North Sardinia, Italy, to identify the prevalence of High Risk - Human papillomaviruses (HR-HPV) genotypes and to establish a correlation between molecular and cytological results.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>From 2007 to 2009 we consecutively enrolled women aged 15-54 years admitted to public and private outpatient settings. All the participants filled in a questionnaire about the socio-cultural state, sexual activity and awareness about HPV. 323 cervical specimens were tested for HPV-DNA and HPV genotypes with INNO-LiPA HPV Genotyping CE Amp kit. Samples showing positivity to some HPV genotypes were re-tested using "in house" quantitative Real-Time PCR assays.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Overall HPV-DNA positivity was detected in 35.9% of the women. The prevalence of HR-HPV infection among HPV positive samples was 93.1% with a specific prevalence of HPV 16, 51, 31, 53 and 18 of 54.3%, 37.9%, 10.3%, 6.9% and 5.2%, respectively. Co-infection with any HPV, HR-HPV, LR-HPV and HR/LR-HPV type was 18.3%, 14.9%, 0.9% and 2.5%, respectively; HPV 16/51 co-infection was detected in 64.6% of the HR-HPV co-infection group. The most frequent HPV-genotypes detected were 16 (32.5%) and 51 (22.7%). Among the 57 patients harboring mono-infection the most prevalent HPV genotypes were 16 (38.6%) and 31(10.5%). A multivariate analysis identified a statistical significant association between HPV infection and age and between HPV infection and previous sexual transmitted diseases. A statistically significant association between cytological cervical lesions and generic HPV exposure was identified.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>To our knowledge, this is the first survey evaluating the prevalence of HPV infection in Northern Sardinia and drawing attention to the unusual high proportion of genotype HPV 51. Given the recent implementation of a widespread immunization program with vaccines not containing HPV 51, it has been relevant to prove the high prevalence of this HPV genotype from the start of the vaccination campaign, in order to avoid in the future attributing to the vaccination program a possible selection effect (HPV replacement).</p

Association of narcolepsy-cataplexy with HLA-DRB1 and DQB1 in Mexican patients: A relationship between HLA and gender is suggested

<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Narcolepsy-cataplexy is characterized by excessive daytime sleepiness with recurrent episodes of irresistible sleep, cataplexy, hallucinations and sleep paralysis. Its aetiology is unknown, but it is positively associated with the human leukocyte antigens (HLA) in all studied populations. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the association of HLA class II <it>DRB1</it>/<it>DQB1 </it>alleles with narcolepsy-cataplexy in Mexican Mestizo patients.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>This is a case-control study of consecutive patients and ethnically matched controls. We included 32 patients diagnosed with typical narcolepsy-cataplexy, of the National Institute of Neurology, of the Institute of Psychiatry and at the Center of Narcolepsy at Stanford University. As healthy controls, 203 Mexican Mestizos were included. <it>DRB1 </it>alleles were identified using sequence based typing. A PCR-SSOP reverse dot blot was used for <it>DQB1 </it>typing. Allele frequency was calculated by direct counting and the significance of the differences was assessed using the Yates Chi square. Odds ratio and confidence intervals were evaluated.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>HLA-<it>DRB1</it>*1501 (OR = 8.2; pc < 0.0001) and <it>DQB1</it>*0602 (OR = 8.4; pc < 0.0001) were found positively associated with narcolepsy. When deleting <it>DQB1</it>*0602+ patients from the analysis, <it>DQB1</it>*0301 was also found increased (OR = 2.7; p = 0.035; pc = NS). <it>DQB1</it>*0602/<it>DQB1</it>*0301 genotype was present in 15.6% of the cases (OR = 11.5; p = 0.00035), conferring a high risk. <it>DRB1</it>*0407 (OR = 0.2; p = 0.016 pc = NS) and <it>DQB1</it>*0302(OR = 0.4; p = 0.017, pc = NS) were found decreased in the patients. The gender stratification analysis showed a higher risk in females carrying <it>DRB1</it>*1501 (OR = 15.8, pc < 0.0001) and <it>DQB1</it>*0602 (OR = 19.8, pc < 0.0001) than in males (OR = 5.0 for both alleles; p = 0.012, pc = NS for <it>DRB1 </it>& p = 0.0012, pc = 0.017 for <it>DQB1</it>). The susceptibility alleles found in Mexicans with narcolepsy are also present in Japanese and Caucasians; <it>DRB1</it>*04 linked protection has also been shown in Koreans. A stronger HLA association is suggested in females, in accordance with the sexual dimorphism claimed previously.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>This knowledge may contribute to a better understanding of the disease pathogenesis in different populations. The evaluation of the risk to develop narcolepsy-cataplexy in carriers of the described alleles/genotypes may also be possible. A larger sample should be analysed in Mexican and in other Hispanic patients to confirm these results.</p
