Electro-hyperthermia in Oncology
Hyperthermia is a rapidly developing treatment method in oncology.
The classical effect is based on well-focused energy absorption
targeting the malignant tissue.
Unfortunately, the heat-shock protein (HSP) synthesis may considerably
suppress the treatment’s efficiency, causing cells to adapt
and survive the shock. Electro-hyperthermia heats the targeted tissue
by means of electricity, producing less HSP in the cells than classical
hyperthermia.
The main improvement is keeping the energy absorption within
the extracellular matrix (ECM). By heating the ECM, ion-mobility
increases, metabolic rates increase, and the heat destroys the cells’
membrane before the heat-shock activates the intra-cellular HSP
mechanisms
Onkotermia
A hipertermia a szövetek melegĂtĂ©se mestersĂ©ges vagy termĂ©szetes Ăşton. A hipertermia onkolĂłgiai
felhasználása egyszerű elven alapszik: a tumoros szövet anyagcseréje eleve magasabb mint az
egĂ©szsĂ©gesĂ©; a meleg hatására a felmelegĂtett tumoros szövetek tovább növelik anyagcserĂ©jĂĽket,
de ehhez nem elég az oxigén ellátás; oxigén-hiány (hypoxia) keletkezik, megindul az anaerob
anyagcsere, a szövet savanyodás miatt elpusztul. Ez az eljárás ma már a tumor-kezelések nagyon
dinamikusan fejlődő formája. A klasszikus effektus a jól fókuszált hőhatáson alapszik, melyben a
fő technikai és kezelési paraméter az elért hőmérséklet és annak eloszlása. Sajnálatos módon, a
hőkezelések hő-rezisztenciát és vele párhuzamosan gyógyszer- és sugárzási-rezisztenciát
fejleszthetnek ki, ami a további kezelĂ©seket hatástalanĂtja. Az onkotermia fizikai elveken alapulĂł
mĂłdszer, megfelelĹ‘ hatásfokkal, a mĂ©lyen fekvĹ‘ daganatokra fĂłkuszáltan melegĂti fel a szöveteket,
és egyben (a klasszikus hő-terápiás hatások megőrzése mellett) lehetővé teszi a kezelési
rezisztencia elkerülését is
On the changes of the electronic structure of early-transition-metal-systems at hydrogenation
The hydrogenation effect on Sc, Y, La, Cd and Eu has been investigated by XPS. The stability, the charge transfer as well as the microscopic behaviours of the processes have been discussed
Macroscopic collectivity on microscopic base in living systems
The collective phenomena in living systems is discussed on the dynamic frustration
basis.
The frustrated connection is introduced on all the organising levels of the living
phenomenon:
· for water states (proton migration),
· for proteins and protein-structures (metabolic charge transfer),
· for cells (membrane states and ordering),
· for tissues (social signals),
· for organs and organism (overall transport problems).
It is shown, that the cancer-genesis is tightly connected with the failure of the
collectivity in the system. The relevant mechanisms of the collectivity is analised in
details for the better understanding the malignant tumor development
