    Creep and Electrochemical Corrosion Behavior of Heat-treated Mg-9Al-1Zn Alloy

    The high-strength Mg-9Al-1Zn alloy has been extensively investigated due to its potential application as a structural material in the automotive industry. The main challenges for its use are the low creep and corrosion resistance. In this work, heat treatment at 415 °C for 2 h was conducted on as-cast Mg-9Al-1Zn to improve its creep resistance. The corrosion behavior of the alloy was studied by the electrochemical method in an NaCl solution. The creep test results under 66.5 MPa load at 200 °C indicated one order of magnitude higher creep resistance of the heat-treated alloy relative to the as-cast one. The heat-treated specimen was ruptured after 6.5 h while the as-cast one was ruptured within 0.6 h. Creep occurred locally following the ÎÂČ phase in the alloy as evident from the cavities observed after the test. Reduction in the density of the discontinuous ÎÂČ precipitates resulting from heat treatment of the alloy lowered the susceptibility to creep. The smaller volume fraction of ÎÂČ precipitates suppressed the cathodic reaction during the polarization test and raised the electrochemical impedance spectra during the EIS test. The heat treatment improved not only the creep resistance but also the corrosion resistance of the Mg-9Al-1Zn alloy

    Profesi akuntan publik diperlukan untuk dapat memberikan pendapat atas kewajiban laporan keuangan agar laporan keuangan tersebut tidak memberikan informasi yang menyesatkan kepada masyarakat dan pemakainya. Seorang auditor harus memiliki komitmen organisasional dan komitmen profesional yang tinggi. Pertanda awal adanya komitmen organisasional dan komitmen profesional adalah adanya kepuasan kerja. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh komitmen organisasional dan komitmen profesional terhadap kepuasan kerja auditor. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan metode survey yang menggunakan kuesioner sebagai pengumpul data pokok. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua level organisasi yang bekerja di kantor akuntan publik di wilayah Surakarta, Yogyakarta dan Semarang. Metode pengumpulan sampel dilakukan dengan sampel jenuh, dengan mengambil sampel penelitian sebanyak 74 responden dari sebelas kantor akuntan publik. Uji validitas dan reliabilitas dengan menggunakan korelasi product moment dan cronbach’s alpha. Analisis data dengan menggunakan analisis regresi berganda. Berdasarkan hasil regresi diperoleh rumus persamaan Y= 29,120 + 1,130 X1 + 0,160 X2 dan berdasarkan hasil uji t variabel Komitmen Organisasional nilai thitung 15,525, dan Komitmen Profesional nilai t hitung 2,097, berdasarkan hasil perhitungan tersebut seluruh variabel Independen berpengaruh secara individu terhadap Kepuasan Kerja dengan nilai semua thitung > t tabel serta probabilitas < 0,05. Berdasarkan nilai thitung serta nilai beta variabel Komitmen Organisasional yang menunjukkan nilai tertinggi dibanding nilai variabel Komitmen Profesional maka variabel komitmen organisasional merupakan variabel yang paling dominan. Berdasarkan hasil uji F diperoleh Fhitung sebesar 139,114 > Ftabel sehingga secara bersama-sama variabel Komitmen Organisasional dan Komitmen Profesional berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Kepuasan Kerja Auditor. Koefisien determinasi (RÂČ) diperoleh nilai sebesar 0,797 ini menunjukkan bahwa variabel Komitmen Organisasional dan Komitmen Profesional mempunyai kontribusi pengaruh terhadap variabel Kepuasan Kerja sebesar 79,7%. Sedangkan sisanya sebesar 20,3% mendapat kontribusi dari variabel lain yang tidak terdapat di dalam model atau tidak penulis teliti seperti variabel lingkungan, jaminan, upah dan lain sebagainya

    The pandemic has led to further the importance of telemedicine, teleconsultation and technology as essential components for delivering of care in all settings. Prior to the pandemic, the instruction surrounding the safe delivery of virtual care in undergraduate medical education was sparse and informal. For care to be delivered to the high standards expected of Canadian physicians, the University of Ottawa undergraduate medical program (UGME) made the decision to define virtual care as a series of tools to facilitate and support the safe delivery of care. By focusing on virtual care as a set of tools, it provides the framework for skill development for future clinicians early in their careers and provides a critical thinking pathway to support the ever-evolving landscape of digital technology in the provision of safe, effective, timely and patient-centered care. This white paper shares our experience creating a virtual care curriculum and the possible implications for medical education.La pandĂ©mie a fait ressortir l’importance de la tĂ©lĂ©mĂ©decine, de la tĂ©lĂ©consultation et de la technologie comme Ă©lĂ©ments essentiels de la prestation des soins de santĂ©, et ce, dans tous les contextes. Avant la crise sanitaire, la prestation sĂ©curitaire de soins virtuels n’était abordĂ©e que rarement et de façon informelle dans la formation de premier cycle. Pour garantir le respect des normes Ă©levĂ©es en matiĂšre de prestation de soins auxquelles sont assujettis les mĂ©decins canadiens, le programme de formation prĂ©doctorale de l’UniversitĂ© d’Ottawa a pris la dĂ©cision de dĂ©finir les soins virtuels comme une sĂ©rie d’outils destinĂ©s Ă  faciliter et Ă  appuyer la prestation sĂ©curitaire des soins. En considĂ©rant les soins virtuels comme une sĂ©rie d’outils, il trace un cadre pour le dĂ©veloppement des compĂ©tences des futurs cliniciens en dĂ©but de carriĂšre ainsi qu’une voie de rĂ©flexion critique pour accompagner l’évolution continue du numĂ©rique dans la prestation de soins sĂ»rs, efficaces, opportuns et centrĂ©s sur le patient.     Behavioral adaptation within cross-cultural virtual teams

    With today\u27s business environments no longer confined to national borders, much work is undertaken in global virtual teams. Such teams consist of members located in different countries that communicate via technology media to complete a project task. Much of the research in this area has been focused on the technological aspects of such environments; there is, however, a lack of research into the behavioral aspects and the issue of cultural differences in particular. It has been acknowledged that when cultural diversity is neither recognized nor acted upon, significant challenges can arise for the team. Current advice in the literature suggests that team members should adapt their normal working behavior in consideration of cultural differences. However, there is little indication of how team members should do so. This study investigated if and/or how team members adapt their behavior in cross-cultural virtual teams. The results of this study indicate that team members can adapt their behavior in both spoken and written communication as well as allowing for religious beliefs and time zone differences. This paper discusses specifically how behavior can be adapted, including a discussion of behaviors that caused concern. Finally, a framework of behavioral adaptations is presented for ways to improve cross-cultural virtual team interactions.<br /

    Degradation Behavior of Coatings Formed by the Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation Technique on AZ61 Magnesium Alloys Containing 0, 1 and 2 wt% Ca

    The characteristics of coatings formed by Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO) are affected by the composition of metal substrates. In this work, the effect of alloying element Ca (0, 1 and 2 wt%) on the degradation behavior and apatite-forming ability of PEO coated AZ61 magnesium alloys was clarified by means of polarization measurements in 0.9% NaCl solution and an in-vitro test in Simulated Body Fluid (SBF), respectively. The AZ61 alloys were subjected to plasma electrolytic oxidation at a constant current of 200 A/m2 at 25°C for 8 min in 0.5 M Na3PO4 solution. The surface investigation suggested no significant effect of Ca content on the morphology of the PEO coating formed on the AZ61 specimens. The coatings exhibited an eruption-like structure decorated with micropores and microcracks. Their average thicknesses were 13.2, 17.4 and 14.3 ”m for AZ61, AZ61-1Ca and AZ61-2Ca, respectively. The polarization measurements showed no significant difference in the corrosion potentials (-1.60 VAg/AgCl) and corrosion current densities (1.61×10-5 A cm-2) of all the coated specimens. Similarly, there was no significant effect of Ca on the apatite-forming ability in SBF, as indicated by the lack of apatite deposition on all the coated specimens after 14 days of immersion. Further sealing of the PEO coatings by chemical treatment in NaOH solution is suggested to enhance the corrosion resistance
