Analizirane su prednosti, ovisno o kriterijima, za svaku završnu koturu te je na temelju provedene analize odabrano najpovoljnije rješenje za eksploataciju tehničko – građevnog kamena na eksploatacijskom polju „Tambura“.This paper presents the method of optimization of the final exploitation contours of crushed stone surface mine “Tambura” and offers the optimal solution. Three-dimensional models of final exploitation contours were created in accordance with the existing legislation, available data and professional practice. Mineral resource reserves were calculated for each of the models by using a computer modelling method. The advantages of every final contour were analysed in accordance with their criteria. Based on this analysis, the optimal solution for the final contours of exploitation of technical – building stone in the surface mine “Tambura” was chosen

Mining design is usually evaluated with different multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods when it comes to large open pit or underground ore mines, but it is not used on quarry sites. Since Croatia is mostly mining stone, the implementation of such methods in decision making of the quarry mine design is imperative but left out. In this paper, the PROMETHEE II and AHP decision-making methods are implemented on the quarry site to find out the best final quarry design contour. By implementing the MCDM methods, the best quarry model was chosen based on 22 different criteria parameters out of three final quarry designs. The chosen model is not only financially sound but also has the least environmental impact

Using risk assessment in a work process that can influence people, machinery, and environment enables simple and quick method of establishing potential hazards and giving those a risk rating. The big advantage is that hazards are defined for a specific case, and consequently, risk ratings are defined for each hazard. Adding risk ratings for each hazard makes it possible to assess total model risk rating and determine the average risk rating of each model. Distributional risk assessment is an additional method of analysing each model and it provides a visual overview. Additional risk control measures were applied to the least critical model to assess the hazards, and thus model risks were reduced to the least value. Risk assessment was performed on the example of “Očura II” quarry haul road based on a new risk assessment algorithm
