Ubiquitously, the pursuit of progress has taken the road of socioeconomic improvement. Both men and women are intricate in this enlargement process. For the said determination both have to do positive productive accomplishments and to upsurge their income for their folks and the country. The glassy of income and benefaction of a household depends on the obtainability of engagement chances for the adult members of that household. As apposite employments are threatened in the country, the formation of self-employment openings becomes the most important objective of households to enhance income, and thus, to enhance the chance to cover the basic necessities. But the poor households do not have the amount of capital that is required for starting up a self-employment activity. Therefore, financial support is one important part of the maintenance of income strategies. In a macho society like Pakistan, men hold the supreme power to control households and society as a whole, and woman are frequently secluded in their homes because of cultural, religious and social restrictions. The households are supervised by women who are either widows, divorced or have a disabled husband. However, with the great decline of their socio-economic situation women are breaking through the traditional norms and coming forward to participate in the development activities outside their homestead. Therefore in this research it was tried to find out whether women in study area are acknowledged in using micro credit. The study was guided by a structured questionnaire containing the closed research questions: on how respondents use credit in the light of their gender demographic traits. Cluster sampling techniques were applied to get a total of 150 respondents. Data analysis was based on descriptive statistics using various statistical tools like regression, correlation, t- test and ANOVA with the help of tables and charts. The Study verdicts exposed that male made better use of micro credit. But their counterpart was not too behind. Changing culture has been replacing this trend and the counterpart of the day has been progressing. However educated, experienced and the respondents who had full time business had been playing vital role in this respect. If the population is business trained and the women are provided favorable culture in which they can a have a stage to show their talents, they would become strong competitors in this field with their counter parts and would play attractive role in development

Empowering Recommendations with NLP: Exploiting Textual Reviews for Enhanced Rating-Based Systems

    Get PDF
This research paper proposes a rating-based recommender system that leverages Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of recommendations. Traditional recommender systems primarily rely on numerical ratings provided by users to make predictions. However, these ratings often lack detailed information about user preferences and suffer from sparsity and inconsistency issues. By incorporating NLP, we aim to extract valuable insights from textual reviews and improve the recommendation process. Our system utilizes sentiment analysis, topic modelling, and text embeddings to capture the implicit information in reviews and generate more personalized and context-aware recommendations. The experimental results demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed rating-based recommender system compared to conventional approaches

The Effect of Ratio-based Incentive on Wind Capacity Development and Investment Risk of Wind Units: A System Dynamics Approach

    Get PDF
Different capacity incentives like feed-in-tariff have been considered to encourage companies to invest in wind power units. One of the main challenges of the electricity market policymakers is the determination of this fixed payment based on limited funding in a way that the investment cost of wind units is compensated and the associated investment risk is reduced. The main contribution of this paper is the introduction of a method to manage the amount of payment or incentives during a time horizon to reach the targeted wind capacity and reduce its investment risk. In this regard, the ratio-based incentive is introduced. To study the effects of such a policy, the long-term behavior of the electricity market is simulated by a dynamic model, which is a useful tool for policymakers to analyze the effects of their policies. Then, conditional value at risk and value at risk concepts are used to measure the risk of wind capacity investment. The results illustrate that the ratio-based incentive is more effective than the feed-in-tariff in the context of decreasing the risk of investment, reducing total CO2 production, electricity price reduction, and speed of providing higher amounts of wind capacity

Using variational methods and critical point theory, we establish multiplicity results of solutions for second-order differential systems generated by impulses. Indeed, employing two sorts of three critical points theorems, we establish the multiplicity results for weak solutions of the problem and verify that these solutions are generated by impulses.Publisher's Versio

Employees’ attitude is very important to management because they settle on the actions of workers in the organization. The repeatedly held finding is that “A contented worker is a productive worker”. A contented work force may engender delightful mood within the organization to perform well. Employees perform differently in the scenario of their different demographics. The specific problem addressed in present study was to examine the impact of academicians’ (working in higher education institutions (Universities) of Peshawar) gender along with their designation, length of service, qualifications, marital status, age and sector on their job performance. Data were gathered through structured questionnaire from 218 randomly selected academicians’ strata of public universities and private universities at Peshawar. Regression analysis exposed that there exists collectively as well as individually positive highly correlation and positive significant impact of o Male, younger, highly educated, married academicians on their job performance. Keywords: Job performance, Demographic factor

A Novel Hybrid Framework for Co-Optimization of Power and Natural Gas Networks Integrated With Emerging Technologies

    Get PDF
In a power system with high penetration of renewable power sources, gas-fired units can be considered as a back-up option to improve the balance between generation and consumption in short-term scheduling. Therefore, closer coordination between power and natural gas systems is anticipated. This article presents a novel hybrid information gap decision theory (IGDT)-stochastic cooptimization problem for integrating electricity and natural gas networks to minimize total operation cost with the penetration of wind energy. The proposed model considers not only the uncertainties regarding electrical load demand and wind power output, but also the uncertainties of gas load demands for the residential consumers. The uncertainties of electric load and wind power are handled through a scenario-based approach, and residential gas load uncertainty is handled via IGDT approach with no need for the probability density function. The introduced hybrid model enables the system operator to consider the advantages of both approaches simultaneously. The impact of gas load uncertainty associated with the residential consumers is more significant on the power dispatch of gas-fired plants and power system operation cost since residential gas load demands are prior than gas load demands of gas-fired units. The proposed framework is a bilevel problem that can be reduced to a one-level problem. Also, it can be solved by the implementation of a simple concept without the need for Karush–Kuhn–Tucker conditions. Moreover, emerging flexible energy sources such as the power to gas technology and demand response program are considered in the proposed model for increasing the wind power dispatch, decreasing the total operation cost of the integrated network as well as reducing the effect of system uncertainties on the total operating cost. Numerical results indicate the applicability and effectiveness of the proposed model under different working conditions
