Editorial: new challenges In theory and practice of corporate governance
The aim of international conference “New Challenges in Corporate Governance: Theory And Practice” is to move the field closer to a global theory by advancing our understanding of corporate governance, which combines insights from the literature on firm governance bundles with insights from the national governance systems literature, investigating new perspectives and challenges for corporate governance and outlining possible scenarios of its development
Equivalence between Poly\'a-Szeg\H{o} and relative capacity inequalities under rearrangement
The transformations of functions acting on sublevel sets that satisfy a
P\'olya-Szeg\H{o} inequality are characterized as those being induced by
transformations of sets that do not increase the associated capacity.Comment: 9 page
The isoperimetric problem for a class of non-radial weights and applications
We study a class of isoperimetric problems on R+ N where the densities of the weighted volume and weighted perimeter are given by two different non-radial functions of the type |x|kxN α. Our results imply some sharp functional inequalities, like for instance, Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg type inequalities
Sharp estimates for solutions to elliptic problems with mixed boundary conditions
We show, using symmetrization techniques, that it is possible to prove a
comparison principle (we are mainly focused on comparison) between
solutions to an elliptic partial differential equation on a smooth bounded set
with a rather general boundary condition, and solutions to a suitable
related problem defined on a ball having the same volume as . This
includes for instance mixed problems where Dirichlet boundary conditions are
prescribed on part of the boundary, while Robin boundary conditions are
prescribed on its complement
on field durability tests of mechanical systems the use of the fatigue damage spectrum
Abstract: In the present paper the authors, starting from a previously proposed method for the combination and the synthesis of equivalent load conditions (by only managing PSD representations of the load conditions), developed a new approach based on the concept of Fatigue Damage Spectrum and on the system dynamics. The proposed approach was then validated by a durability test case, in which two different acceleration motion based load conditions, a norm load condition (by using laboratory test) and an operative one (by using acceleration measurements acquired during an experimental activity conducted on a transport vehicle) were compared
