Relationship Among Self-Esteem, Blame And Guilt, And Sexuality Of Infertile Young Women

    Get PDF
This descriptive correlational study purported to ascertain the relationships among self-esteem, blame and guilt, and sexuality of infertile young adult women, and to explore the basis for the study the Roy Adaptation Model (1976) was utilized. The convenience sample was comprised of 31 infertile women with diverse conditions who had undergone medical treatments for at least one year. The Infertility Questionnaire (IFQ) of Bernstein, Potts, and Mattox (1985) and researcher-developed questions were used in data collection to assess adaptation of the women to infertility. Quantitative data were analyzed using Pearson\u27s Product Moment Correlation while content analysis was used to describe the qualitative data. Data were collected at a private infertility clinic for three consecutive weeks. Results of the study supported the three correlational hypotheses. When infertile women experience blame and guilt, self-esteem and sexuality are decreased. Also, as self-esteem is lowered, sexuality is decreased. The main coping strategies used by these women were prayer, hobbies, anger, and crying. Perceived supportiveness of significant others and health care providers was found to decrease emotional distress. Implications for clinical practice and nursing education were suggested, and three recommendations for further research were offered

Nuclear safety policy working group recommendations on nuclear propulsion safety for the space exploration initiative

    Get PDF
An interagency Nuclear Safety Working Group (NSPWG) was chartered to recommend nuclear safety policy, requirements, and guidelines for the Space Exploration Initiative (SEI) nuclear propulsion program. These recommendations, which are contained in this report, should facilitate the implementation of mission planning and conceptual design studies. The NSPWG has recommended a top-level policy to provide the guiding principles for the development and implementation of the SEI nuclear propulsion safety program. In addition, the NSPWG has reviewed safety issues for nuclear propulsion and recommended top-level safety requirements and guidelines to address these issues. These recommendations should be useful for the development of the program's top-level requirements for safety functions (referred to as Safety Functional Requirements). The safety requirements and guidelines address the following topics: reactor start-up, inadvertent criticality, radiological release and exposure, disposal, entry, safeguards, risk/reliability, operational safety, ground testing, and other considerations

Although the cerebral cortex and the directly connected thalamus are paramount to this particular form of epilepsy, several other parts of the mammalian brain are likely to influence this oscillatory activity. We have recently shown that some of the cerebellar nuclei (CN) neurons, which form the main output of the cerebellum, show synchronized oscillatory activity during episodes of cortical SWDs in two independent mouse models of absence epilepsy [1]. The CN neurons that show this significant correlation with the SWDs are deemed to “participate” in the seizure activity and are therefore used in our current study designed to unravel the potential causes of such oscillatory firing patternsPeer reviewe

Article 386 paragraph 1 of Law Number 23 Year 2014 concerning Regional Government which made for increasing the regional government's performance. The innovation that took place in the city of Manado in 2016 was a successful innovation in the region. After the issuance of Government Regulation Number 38 of 2017 concerning Regional Innovation, it's stated that regional innovation is organized by the head of the Research and Development Agency (R & D). Applying a qualitative approach through literature studies. It aims to contribute ideas about various efforts that can be done by R & D of Manado City institutions in carrying out their functions in Government Regulation Number 38 of 2017 concerning Regional Innovation. Agencies must be the organization responsible for regional innovation by providing solutions for regional innovation, becoming the Independent Team Coordinator to deal with problems that occur in these countries. Agencies must carry out additional budgets to support tasks to improve the Regional Innovation System

Evaluasi Komplikasi Plate Exposure Pasca Reseksi Amelobl Astoma Mandibula Dengan Rekonstruksi Pelat Titanium Di Rsup Dr. Sardjito YOGYAKARTA

Resection of the jaw is a primary option of treatment in mandibular ameloblastoma with bone damage. Mandibular resection will cause mandibular stability disturbance due toloss of some part of the bone. Instability of the mandible can cause aesthetic, physiological, and psychological malfunctioning. To restore its stability, installment of mandibular reconstruction plate on the remaining mandibular by using screws. However, it is not uncommon that plate exposure occurs following mandibular reconstruction, caused by inaccurate adaptation of the plates to the mandibular bone. A 3D stereolithography modelcan help provide the best assesment on the bone defect, plan the making of the more easily pre-operative curved plates and provide more accurate faster surgery time. Objective: To evaluate plate exposure after mandibular resection with titanium reconstruction plates in Dr. SardjitoHospital. Case report: A case was reported on mandibular reconstruction after resection of ameloblastoma with titanium plate performed in Dr. Sardjito Hospital that experienced intra-oral plate exposure and oro-cutaneous fistula on the left mandible. The clinical evaluation showed the curved titanium plate did not adapt well with the remaining mandibular bone; therefore, the titanium plate was removed without replacing it with a new plate. Inappropriate adaptationof curved titanium plate is one of the main causes of plate exposure. The use of a 3D stereolithography model is very helpful for the success of mandibular reconstruction
