D6.7 Report on the experience of conducting the case studies

    Get PDF
One of the main aims of the case studies was to publish improved market reports. The data collected as part of the six case studies have been, or will shortly be, published in the five improved national organic market reports and one first regional market report (MOAN case study). This will make a contribution towards filling the many gaps that continue to exist in organic market data collection in Europe

In the title mixed-ligand silver(I) coordination polymeric complex with the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug diclofenac (C14H11Cl2NO2) (diclH) and pyrimidine (pym), namely poly[{ÎŒ2-2-[2-(2,6-dichloroanilino)phenyl]acetato-Îș2O:Oâ€Č}(ÎŒ2-pyrimidine-Îș2N1:N3)silver(I)], [Ag(C14H10Cl2NO2)(C4H4N2)]n or [Ag(ÎŒ-dicl)(ÎŒ-pym)]n, the very distorted tetrahedral AgN2O2 coordination centres comprise two N-atom donors from bridging pym ligands [Ag—N = 2.381 (3) and 2.412 (3) Å] and two carboxylate O-atom donors from dicl ligands [Ag—O = 2.279 (2) and 2.280 (2) Å], which bridge Ag atoms, giving a centrosymmetric dinuclear units with a short Ag...Ag separation [2.8931 (5) Å]. Within the units are short intraligand C—Cl...π(pym) interactions [3.6409 (15) Å]. The units are linked through the bridging N atoms of the pym ligand into a two-dimensional sheet–polymer structure lying parallel to (100) and stabilized by inter-ring π–π interactions between the pym ligands [Cg...Cg = 3.4199 (17) Å]. Additional inter-unit C—H...O and C—H...Cg hydrogen-bonding interactions between the sheets give an overall three-dimensional structure

Ondokuz Mayis University [PYO.MUH.1904.11.015]A new two-dimensional polymeric [Ag-2(mu-Hpydc)(2)(mu-pyz)](n) (1) (H (2) pydc = pyridine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid, pyz = pyrazine), has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, thermal analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction. X-ray diffraction analyses show that Hpydc exhibits novel coordination mode in 1, acts as a bridging ligand between two Ag(I) centers via deprotonated carboxylate mu-O1 atoms, forming binuclear [Ag-2(mu-Hpydc)(2)] units (Ag center dot center dot center dot Ag separation is 2.9482(4) ). These units are connected to each other through pyz and Hpydc ligands, leading to two-dimensional polymeric structure. The coordination geometry around the silver(I) ions in the complex is a highly distorted square-pyramidal (tau = 0.229) with an AgN2O3 chromospheres. The solid state photoluminescence properties of 1 and H (2) pydc have been studied at room temperature. Furthermore, the complex has been tested for its in vitro antibacterial activity and is determined to be highly effective for antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogenic bacteria cells. A new polymeric 2D silver(I) complex [Ag-2(mu-Hpydc)(2)(mu-pyz)](n) (1) (H (2) pydc = pyridine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid, pyz = pyrazine) has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, thermal analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The solid state photoluminescence properties of 1 and H (2) pydc have been studied at room temperature and also it has been tested for its in vitro antibacterial activity

The value of coronary artery calcium score in the early diagnosis of coronary artery disease in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Context view, showing the west elevation of Red Square; The trapezoidal building features an interesting combination of elements of Russian medieval architecture and a steel framework and glass roof, a similar style to the great Victorian train stations of London. Each arcade is on three levels, linked by walkways of reinforced concrete. Shukhov was the inventor of a new family of doubly-curved structural forms. These forms, based on non-Euclidean hyperbolic geometry, are known today as hyperboloids of revolution. Shukhov developed not only many varieties of light-weight hyperboloid towers and roof systems, but also the mathematics for their analysis. It is still open today, and is a popular tourist destination for those visiting Moscow. Source: Wikipedia; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page (accessed 6/22/2009

Comparison of Pneumatic, Ultrasonic and Combination Lithotripters in Percutaneous Nephrolithotripsy

Purpose We aimed to compare the outcomes of pneumatic (PL), ultrasonic (UL) and combined (PL/UL) lithotripsy performed in percutaneous lithotripsy (PNL) according to success rates and stone clearence. Materials and Methods The medical records of 512 patients treated with PNL between April 2010 and April 2013 were evaluated. Postoperative stone analysis revealed as calcium oxalate in 408 of these patients. The operation notes of 355 patients recorded in detail with complete parameters were reviewed. According to stone disintegration method, patients were divided into three groups: PL only in Group I, UL only in Group II, and UL/PL combination in Group III. Number of patients was 155, 110 and 90, respectively. Results Fluoroscopy screening time was significantly shorter in group II, and III compared to group I (p<0.001). The failure rates were 13.5% (21 patients) for group I, 3.6% (4 patients) for group II, and 3.3% (3 patients) for group III. There was a significant statistical difference in favor of group II and III by means of success (p=0.023). Group II and III had larger FSA, and this was statistically significant (p=0.032). Stone disintegration time (SDT) was 64.0±41.92 minutes for group I, 49.5±34.63 for group II, and 37.7±16.89 for group III. Group III has a statistically significant shorter SDT (p=0.011). Conclusions We concluded that, in cases with high stone burden, where faster and efficient lithotripsy is needed, combined ultrasonic / pneumatic lithotripter may be the ideal choice and in suitable cases ultrasonic lithotripter usage provides important advantages to the surgeon

<p>We report the synthesis of two square-pyramidal copper(II) complexes, [Cu(2,5-pydc)(2-aepy)(H2O)]·H2O, <b>1</b>, and [Cu(2,5-pydc)(2-ampy)(H2O)]·H2O, <b>2</b> (2-aepy = 2-(aminoethyl)pyridine, 2-ampy = 2-(aminomethyl)pyridine, 2,5-pydc = pyridine-2,5-dicarboxylic acid or isocinchomeronic acid). The synthesized complexes have been characterized by X-ray diffraction, FT-IR, elemental, and thermal analysis techniques. The crystal structure of <b>1</b> was established by X-ray analysis. Powder X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the complexes are pure. The inhibition of human serum paraoxonase 1 (PON 1, EC 3.1.8.1) enzyme with these complexes were investigated. We used diethyl 4-nitrophenyl phosphate as a substrate to measure the paraoxonase activity of PON 1 enzyme spectrophotometrically. Complexes <b>1</b> and <b>2</b> decreased the <i>in vitro</i> PON 1 activity with different inhibition mechanisms. Complexes <b>1</b> and <b>2</b> inhibited paraoxonase activity of this enzyme as competitively and noncompetitively, respectively.</p
