Jaundice is one of the most common causes of admission to hospital in newborns which is often associated with several complications. Aim: The present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of H. vulgare in reducing jaundice. Materials and Methods: In this double-blind, randomized controlled trials 70 term infants hospitalized due to jaundice in 2014 were enrolled. Control group was treated with full-time phototherapy alone using LED except when the infants were breastfed and case group with phototherapy, as per the protocol in the control group, along with and topical H. vulgare seed flour three times a day. Data were analysed using and analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) and paired t-test in SPSS version 16.0. Results: There was a significant difference in mean indirect bilirubin level between the two groups p0.05. Conclusion: H. vulgare flour can cause decrease in indirect bilirubin. Because the rate of decrease in indirect bilirubin can be effective in preventing severe complications due to bilirubinemia, H. vulgare can be used as a complementary therapy to treat jaundic

Background: The purpose of this study is to investigate the impacts cognitive behavioral sex therapy has on decreasing anxiety and increasing sexual function of people with vaginismus. Methods: The sample for this study was randomly chosen from a population of married women aged 20 to 35 years who were referred to both Farhangian Shahid Abuzari and Vali-Asr Therapeutic Centers in Shahr-e-Ray. Thirty female subjects were chosen and were divided into two groups; experimental group and control group. The pre-test was administered for both groups. The pre-test consisted of the items on Spielberger’s state-trait anxiety inventory (SATI) as well as the items on Rosen et al. (2000) Female Sexual Function Index. Then, the subjects in experimental group were treated with 12 sessions of cognitive behavioral therapy for vaginismus’ sexual dysfunctions. At the end, post-test was administered for both groups. Results: The results of covariance analysis demonstrated that cognitive behavioral therapy for sexual dysfunctions will lower the anxiety and, at the same time, it can also enhance sexual performance of females with vaginismus in the experimental group compared with control (P<0.05). Conclusions: Given the effects of cognitive behavioral therapy on people with vaginismu for improving sexual awareness about sexual function, it is recommended that young couples should be trained as this can help them to sustain their marital life and prevent sexual dysfunction

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Stress inoculation training on three different measures: the amount of Self-Assertion, the amount of non assertion Risk behavior and the degree of discomfort of physically-motor handicapped girl Students.Method: This study is a semi-experimental investigation. The statistical population is all physically -motor handicapped girl Students of high schools isfahan in 1389. Twenty one students were sampled and via random method were grouped and assigned in two groups. The experimental group (10 people) and the control group (11 people). In order to collect data the questionnaire Gambiril-Richi has been used.Prior to the first meeting planned for the Stress inoculation training, Pre-test was conducted by Self-Assertion questionnaire. Then for the experimental group, 8 weekly/ 90-minutes each training sessions was held. In each of these meetings one of the fundamental skills was taught in the Meichenbaum model and immediately after that, test was conducted on both groups. For the data analyses covariance analysis was used. Results: The results of the analysis indicate that Stress inoculation training has led to significant increase in Self-Assertion (p<0.01) and led to decrease Risk behavior (p<0.01) and the degree of discomfort (p<0.01) on physically-motor handicapped girl students. Conclusion and recommendations: findings of this study lead to the conclusion, that Stress inoculation training enhances the self-assertion of the physically- motor handicapped girl students. Therefore, such programs can be applied to increase students' exceptional abilities to work in all professions which require such social abilities and so to enhance their life quality and future perspectives

Background Ionizing and non-ionizing radiation are widely used in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Considering the potential risks of radiation, radiation safety training courses are important for medical staff. Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of one-day radiation safety training program in increasing the radiation safety knowledge of physicians. Methods In this descriptive-analytical study, subjects were 12 physicians (6 general practitioners and 6 nonradiologist specialists) participated in the training program organized by Qazvin University of Medical Sciences in 2018. A researcher-made questionnaire was used for surveying physicians before and after the training. The mean and standard deviation of the scores were first calculated. Then, the pre- and post-test scores were compared using Wilcoxon signed-rank test, and the correlation of these scores with their age, gender, expertise area, and work experience was examined by Spearman's correlation test. Findings The mean total scores of the physicians before and after training were 7.00±2.56 (ranged 3-11) and 11.92± 2.31 (ranged 8-15) out of 18, respectively. The radiation safety knowledge of physicians significantly increased after training (P<0.001). No significant relationship was found between their scores and their age, gender, expertise area and work experience. Conclusion The radiation safety training program was effective in increasing the radiation safety knowledge of physicians and it can be used for a larger community of physicians
