    An Investigation of the Relationship Between Level of Aggression, Communication Skills and Computer Game Addiction Among Secondary School Students: Structural Equation Modelling

    Computer game addiction is a widespread problem, especially among children and adolescents. In order to prevent or minimize computer game addictions, it is substantial to understand why they became addicted to computer games. The reasons behind computer game addiction will also direct prospective interventions. Therefore, the research is based on these variables, considering that communication skills and aggression may cause computer game addiction. The research aims to examine the relationship between computer game addiction and aggression levels and communication skills in secondary school students by using structural equation modeling. According to the constructed structural equation model, it was expected that students' communication skills would be effective on aggression in computer game addictions. The method of the research was determined as a correlational pattern from quantitative research methods. The sample of the study consists of 1123 secondary school students (5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade) who are studying in six public schools in the Serdivan, Sakarya in the 2019-2020 academic year. Data from students were collected using personal information form, Computer Game Addiction Scale for Children, Aggression Scale, and Communication Skills Evaluation Scale. The collected data were analyzed with SPSS 22.0 and AMOS. As a result of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, the data showed normal distribution. Therefore, parametric tests (independent sample t-test, ANOVA) were used. In order to find answers to the problem sentence of the research, firstly, the relationship between the variables of the research was analyzed in the SPSS. Then, the structural equation model was tested in AMOS. As a result of the analysis, it was seen that the middle school students who participated in the research had low computer game addiction levels and their communication skills affected computer game addiction through aggression. Also, according to the findings, communication skills directly affected the aggression; aggression directly affected computer game addiction.     Kendini Bilme ve Psikolojik İyi Oluş Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesi

    Bu araştırmanın amacı, kendini bilme ile psikolojik iyi oluş arasındaki ilişkiyi ve kendini bilme ile psikolojik iyi oluş kavramlarının algılanan ebeveyn tutumları değişkenine göre farklılaşma durumunu incelemektir. Araştırmanın sonuçları kendini bilme ile psikolojik iyi oluşun pozitif ilişkili olduğunu göstermiştir. Basit regresyon analizi sonuçlarına göre kendini bilmenin psikolojik iyi oluşu ve çevresel hakimiyet, öz kabul, bireysel gelişim, yaşam amacı, diğerleriyle olumlu ilişkiler ve özerklik boyutlarını anlamlı bir şekilde pozitif yönde yordadığı bulunmuştur. Çoklu regresyon analizi sonuçlarına göre psikolojik iyi oluşun tüm boyutlarını içeren son modelde, standartlaştırılmış beta katsayılarının kendini bilmeyi yordamasındaki göreli önem sıralarına göre çevresel hakimiyet, öz kabul, yaşam amaçları ve özerklik alt boyutlarının kendini bilmeyi anlamlı bir şekilde yordadığı görülmüştür. Bireysel gelişim ve olumlu ilişkiler boyutlarının ise öz bilginin anlamlı bir yordayıcısı olmadığı görülmüştür. Öğretmen adaylarının kendini bilme ve psikolojik iyi oluş düzeylerinin ebeveyn tutumlarına göre farklılaştığı bulunmuştur. Kendini bilmenin bireylerin daha işlevsel bir hayat yaşamasına yardımcı olabileceği söylenebilir

    Boyun Eğici Davranışları Azaltmaya Yönelik Bilişsel Davranışçı Psiko-Eğitim Programının Kişilerarası Duyarlılık, Öfke ve Düşmanlık (Hostilite) Üzerine Etkisi

    The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of the cognitive behavioral psychoeducation program, which aims to reduce the submissive behaviors on the interpersonal sensitivity and hostility. The research was carried out with high school students studying at 12th class of Ümraniye Merkez Anadolu high school, located in Istanbul during 2014/2015 academic year. Submissive Acts Scale and Brief Symptom Inventory were used for selecting the experimental objects. 24 students who met the inclusion criteria were assigned randomly to experimental (n=12) and control groups (n=12). After the groups were formed, ten (10) week sessions were started for experimental group. Psychoeducation program, which was based on cognitive behavioral approach, was applied to the experiment group in order to see the decrease of submissive behaviors, whereas any program was not executed for control group. The data were analyzed by two-factors ANOVA for mixed designs (Split-Plot). According to research findings, the psycho-education program was found to have a significant effect on the submissive behavior, interpersonal sensitivity, hostility levels of the participants in the experimental group. To determine the reason of this difference, Bonferroni Adjustment multiple comparisons tests were used. The results of Bonferroni adjustment multiple comparisons tests and the variance analysis showed that psychoeducation program is effective for decreasing the submissive behaviors, interpersonal sensitivity and hostility and it was seen that the effect continues to increase as well as being permanent after sixty (60) days. Results of this study show that the cognitive behavioral psychoeducation program can be used to reduce submissive behavior, interpersonal sensitivity and hostility levels for adolescents.Bu çalışmanın amacı, araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanmış olan boyun eğici davranışları azaltmaya yönelik bilişsel davranışçı psiko-eğitim programının kişilerarası duyarlılık, öfke ve düşmanlık (hostilite) üzerine etkisinin incelenmesidir. Araştırma; deney ve kontrol gruplu ön-test, son-test ve izleme testi modeline dayalı bir deneysel çalışmadır. Katılımcılar 2014-2015 öğretim yılında İstanbul Ümraniye Merkez Anadolu Lisesi’nin 12. sınıfında öğrenim gören öğrenciler arasından Boyun Eğici Davranış Ölçeği ve Kısa Semptom Envanteri uygulanarak belirlenmiştir. Psiko-eğitim programına katılma ölçütlerine sahip 24 öğrenci, seçkisiz atama yolu ile 12 kişi deney, 12 kişi kontrol grubuna yerleşecek şekilde seçilmiştir. Deney grubuna araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan 10 oturumluk boyun eğici davranışları azaltmaya yönelik bilişsel davranışçı psiko-eğitim programı uygulanmış, kontrol grubuna ise herhangi bir işlem yapılmamıştır. Gruplar arası farkı belirlemek amacıyla karışık desenler (split-plot) için iki faktörlü ANOVA yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre uygulanan psiko-eğitim programının deney grubunda bulunan katılımcıların boyun eğici davranış, kişilerarası duyarlılık, öfke ve düşmanlık düzeyleri üzerinde anlamlı etkisi olduğu görülmüştür. Bu farklılığın kaynağını belirlemek amacıyla Bonferroni uyumlu çoklu karşılaştırma testinden yararlanılmıştır. Bonferroni uyumlu çoklu karşılaştırma testi ve varyans analizinden alınan sonuçlar bilişsel davranışçı psiko-eğitim programının ergenlerin boyun eğici davranışları, kişilerarası duyarlılık, öfke ve düşmanlığı azaltmada etkili olduğunu göstermiş ve bu etkinin 60 günlük izleme sonucunda da kalıcılığını koruduğu görülmüştür. Bu çalışmanın sonuçları bilişsel davranışçı psiko-eğitim programının ergenlerin boyun eğici davranış, kişilerarası duyarlılık ve öfke ve düşmanlık düzeylerini  azaltmada kullanılabileceğini göstermektedir

    Teachers Views On Variations At Organization Structure Of National Education

    The aim of this study is to examine how the changes occurred at national education organization structure are perceived by teachers according to gender, professional career and the institution which schooling grade the teachers work. The study was carried out with the correlational research method. According to results obtained in study; It’s observed that Gender parameter has shown significant difference on deciding organizational need and evaluating organizational variations of Organization Structure of National Education. It’s observed that there is no significant difference on planning, applying and philosophical aspects of Organizational Variation At National Education Organizational Structure, there exist significant difference at variable of Professional seniority and this variation was observed for the teachers who have 1-5 and 16-20 years’ service period. It’s observed that there is no significant difference on planning, applying and philosophical aspects of Organizational Variation At Organization Structure of National Education, there exist significant difference at variations of organization structure of National Education, there exist significant difference on planning and evaluating organizational variation according to school type and this difference is observed between primary and high school teachers.     This study is aimed to investigate the conceptions of employer and master instructors on students from vocational education center. Workgroup of the study comprises totally 318 people who work as employers and master instructors in the field of production and serving in Kayseri and Sakarya cities, in 2011. Data is collected via personal information form and determining conceptions of employer and master instructors on students in vocational education survey, which was developed by researchers for the purpose of determining the conceptions of employers and master instructors on students from vocational education center. Descriptive analysis such as frequency and percent was used in data analysis. Besides, Kay- square technique was used according to positions of employers and master instructors, by the aim of determining the conceptions of employers and master instructors on students from vocational education. According to research, significant differences between conceptions of employers and master instructors about students from vocational education center were found. Results of the study were discussed in related literature and submitted suggestions for future studies.Bu araştırmada, işverenler ve usta öğreticilerin mesleki eğitim merkezlerinden gelen öğrencilere yönelik görüşleri incelenmiştir. İlişkisel tarama modelinin kullanıldığı bu araştırmada çalışma grubunu 2011 yılında Sakarya ve Kayseri İllerinde üretim ve hizmet alanlarında işveren ve usta öğretici olarak çalışan toplam 318 kişi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada işveren ve usta öğreticilerinin Mesleki Eğitim Merkezlerinden gelen öğrencilere yönelik görüşlerini belirlemek amacıyla araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen Kişisel Bilgi formu ve İşveren ve Usta Öğreticilerin Mesleki Eğitim Öğrencilerine Yönelik Görüşlerini Belirleme Anketi kullanılmıştır.  Verilerin çözümlenmesinde frekans ve yüzde gibi betimsel analizlerin yanı sıra İşveren ve Usta Öğreticilerin Mesleki Eğitim Öğrencilerine Yönelik Görüşlerini Belirlemek için işveren ve usta öğreticilerin iş yeri pozisyonlarına göre Kay-kare analizi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçları, işverenler ve usta öğreticilerin mesleki eğitim merkezinden gelen öğrencilere yönelik görüşlerinde anlamlı farklılıklar olduğunu göstermiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçları ilgili literatür çerçevesinde tartışılmış ve gelecek araştırmalara yönelik öneriler sunulmuştur

    The Effect Of Psycho-Education Program On Increase The Tendency To Forgive and Five Factor Personality Properties Of Forgiveness Tendency

    The basic aim of this study is to examine the effect of psycho-education program for gaining the tendency to forgive on Big five personality traits. The study was carried out via experimental design to determine the cause and effect relationship between the independent variable (big five personality traits) and the dependent variable (tendency to forgive). The study was conducted with Pretest- Posttest Control Group Design. 24 university students who attended to the study were randomly assigned to the experimental and the control group each of which consisted of 12 university students. The data was collected through Big Five Personality Traits Scale and Heartland Forgiveness Scale. Within the scope of the study, experimental group was given10-week psycho-education program to gain positive personality traits and to gaining forgiveness tendency while control group was not given any intervention. The effectiveness of the group counseling process was tested by the same scale in pre-experimental, post-experimental and follow up processes. According to the findings of the study, it was found that all of the personality traits were effective in order to help to increase the tendency of forgiveness of individuals with high scores for neuroticism, one of the big five personality traits, and low scores for forgiveness, that is people with less forgiveness competency. The findings were discussed in the light of the literature and recommendations were made accordingly

    The Validity And Reliability Of The Turkish Version Of The Online Counseling And Face-To-Face Counseling Attitudes Scale

    The purpose of this study is to examine the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Online Counseling Attitudes Scale (OCAS) and Face-to-Face Counseling Attitudes Scale (OCAS) (Rochlen, Beretvas, & Zack, 2004). OCAS and FCAS loaded on four factors and the factors were named Value of Online Counseling (OC-V), Discomfort with Online Counseling (OC-D), Value of Face-to-Face Counseling (FC-V) and Discomfort with Face-to-Face Counseling (FC-D). The results of confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the four dimensional model was well fit (x²=323.61, df=157, p=0.00000, RMSEA=.056, NFI=.94, CFI=.96, IFI=.96, RFI=.92, GFI=.91, and SRMR=.071). Factor loadings ranged from .47 to .88. The internal consistency coefficients of four subscales were .84, .80, .88 and .78. Overall, findings demonstrated that OCAS and FCAS may be used as a valid and reliable instrument in order to assess attitudes toward online counseling and face to face counseling of individuals

    Sleep Quality and Self-compassion as Predictors of Aggression in High School Students

    In the current study, the relationships between Aggression, Self-compassion and Sleep Quality of high school students have been examined. 529 high school students (66% females and 34% males) participated in the study. Data were collected from participants through using a Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Aggression Questionnaire (AQ), Self-Compassion Scale (SCS), and Descriptive Questionnaire. The predictors of aggressiveness of the variables determined by simple correlation were investigated by multiple linear regression. According to the results, there was a positive and significant relationship between aggression levels and all sub-dimensions of self-compassion and sleep quality. In addition, it was observed that the levels of aggressiveness were significantly predicted by the sub-dimensions of self-compassion and sleep quality, and that the first three most effective predictive variables were over-identification, self-judgment and sleep quality

    Reality therapy is kind of therapy which is quite effective in dealing with social phobia and related problems. The aim of this experimental study is to present the effect of psycho-education program based on reality therapy on dealing with adolescence shyness. Shyness scale and Subjective Shyness associated Wellbeing Scale were used in order to collect data in the research. In the study consisting of an experiment group of 12 and control group of 12, and education program based on reality therapy was applied and pretest and posttest study was carried out on the results. As a result of the applied program in consequence of statistical analyses. Shyness levels of the individuals in the experiment group decreased and their Shyness associated Subjective Wellbeing levels increased. This situation proves that the studies based on reality therapy are effective in dealing with adolescence shyness
