Radio resources reuse and partitioning for OFDMA multi-hop relay cellular networks

    No full text
Relays are being adopted as a cost effective solution to improve the coverage of cellular networks and provide ubiquitous service to all users. To meet the growing demand for mobile data, we need to improve radio resources reuse capability. Partitioning of radio resources is a common practice in cellular network as it provides a simple and reliable way to distribute the resources over systems nodes. The reuse factor of one is hard to achieve in legacy cellular systems; with relaying and with adopting OFDMA and Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) technologies, we will try to achieve this goal by partitioning the radio resource over the relays within a single cell and efficiently reuse them. Some reuse schemes are proposed and studied along with other schemes presented in the literature. The tradeoff between outage performance and throughput enhancement is studied and the impact of power control, the number of hops and reuse capability is considered
