How does employer brand affect work engagement? The mediating role of emotional labor
This research aims to investigate the effects of employer brand on emotional labor and work engagement.
The developed theoretical model was tested using structural equation modeling. The data used in the
research were obtained from the employees working in five-star hotels in Ankara. According to the
findings, while employer brand does not significantly affect the surface acting dimension of emotional
labor, it affects the deep acting and natural acting dimensions positively and significantly. On the other
hand, deep acting and natural acting have a positive and significant effect on work engagement, whereas
surface acting does not have a significant effect on work engagement. In terms of mediation effect, deep
and natural actings mediate the impact of employer brand on work engagement. As a result, this research
contributes to the literature by providing a cross-section of the benefits of the employer brand to
organizations
The Impacts Of Perceived Organizational Support And Job-Related Affective Well-Being On Counterproductive Work Behavior: A Study In Service Sector
This study examines whether perceived organizational support and job-related affective well-being in the service sector impact counterproductive work behaviors exhibited by employees. Service sector employees (n = 706) in Turkey completed questionnaires assessing perceived organizational support, job-related affective well-being, and demographics. Multivariate statistical methods such as descriptive statistics and structural equation modeling were used to analyze the questionnaire responses. No other study examining this trilateral relationship has thus far been reported in the literature. Therefore, this study's examination of all three variables is significant as it may more accurately reflect circumstances in the service sector. The findings of this study reveal that perceived organizational support impacts job-related affective well-being. Accordingly, while a positive impact exists between perceived organizational support and positive emotions, a negative impact exists between perceived organizational support and negative emotions. In addition, perceived organizational support partially impacts counterproductive work behaviors of employees such as theft of organizational property, withdrawal behavior, and abuse. Using employee emotions as a mediating variable as per the Job-related Affective Well-being Scale (JAWS), we found that positive emotions do not impact employee theft, withdrawal behavior, and abuse, whereas negative emotions positively and significantly impact these behaviors. Furthermore, negative emotions play a mediating role in the relationship between perceived organizational support and counterproductive work behaviors
Kariyer Seçim Faktörleri ve Sektörün Bu Faktörleri Öğrencilere Sunma Düzeyine İlişkin Bir Araştırma - Research Into Career Choice Factors And The Levels At Which Industry Present These Factors To Students
Career choice is one of the most important choices that students have made
throughout their lives. The examination of the factors affecting this choice is of great
importance in terms of people, educational institutions and policy makers. The match
between what a person sees as important aspects of a career and the extent to which
they believe a particular career offers these factors will play a crucial role in that
person’s decision making process. Consequently the purpose of this study is to
understand what factors respondents found important when considering a career and
how well they thought the banking industry offered these. The instrument used in this study was adapted from a survey conducted by Richardson (2009). Respondents were
asked to rate 20 factors in response to the question. In the study, it was found that there
was a significant difference in 19 of the 20 factors. From the results it is clear that
students generally do not believe that a career in banking industry will offer them the
factors that they find important
