    Türkiye aphidiinae faunasına (hymenoptera: braconidae) yeni kayıtlar ile katkılar

    Samples were collected from eight different habitats by using either a sweeping-net and Malesian trap in Edirne province of European Turkey in the Spring, Summer and Autumn of 2014. A total of six genera and 27 species have been identified. Of these, nine species (Aphidius eadyi Starý, Gonzales & Hall, 1980, A. rosae Haliday, 1834, A. picipes (Nees, 1811), Binodoxys acalephae (Haliday, 1833), Ephedrus persicae Frogatt, 1904, Lysiphlebus confusus Tremblay & Eady, 1978, Praon abjectum (Haliday, 1833), P. pubescens Starý, 1961, P. yomenae Takada, 1968) are new records for the Edirne Aphidiinae fauna and seven of them (Aphidius smithii Sharma & Subba Rao, 1959, A. microlophii Pennachio & Tremblay, 1987, Lysiphlebus fritzmuelleri Mackauer, 1960, Praon athenaeum Kavallieratos & Lykouressis, 2000, P. flavinode (Haliday, 1833), P. nonveilleri Tomanović & Kavallieratos, 2003, P. uroleucon Tomanović & Kavallieratos, 2003) are new records for Turkish Aphidiinae fauna.Edirne ili Aphidiinae faunasını tespit etmeye yönelik 2014 yılı ilkbahar, yaz ve sonbahar mevsimleri içinde yapılan bu çalışmada örnekler atrap ve Malezya tuzakları kullanılarak sekiz farklı habitattan toplanmıştır.     Yüksek Lisans TeziEdirne ili Aphidiinae faunasını tespit etmeye yönelik Nisan-Eylül 2014 tarihleri arasında yapılan bu çalışmada araştırma bölgesini temsil eden 71 lokalite ve 8 farklı habitattan materyal toplanmıştır. Aphidiinae altfamilyasının cins ve tür tanı anahtarları hazırlanmıştır.Araştırma bölgesinde çalışılan 8 farklı habitatın hepsinde aynı türe rastlanmadığı, Aphidius ervi, A. rosae ve Praon exsoletum türlerinin ekolojik açıdan en toleranslı türler olduğu, 14 türün ise (Aphidius colemani, A.eadyi, A.matricariae, A. picipes, A.smithii, A.urticae, Binodoxys acalephae, B.angelicae, Ephedrus persicae, E.plagiator, Praon abjectum, P.flavinode, P.nonveilleri, P.pubescens) sadece bir habitatta bulunmakla habitat tercihleri bakımından en sınırlı türler olabileceği tespit edilmiştir. Tür sayısı bakımından bölgede tarım alanı kenarı otsu bitkiler ve meyve bahçesi alanlarının sırasıyla en zengin habitatlar olarak yer aldığı belirlenmiştir.Araştırma sonucunda Edirne bölgesi için 16, Türkiye için 7 yeni tür kaydı verilerek Edirne ilindeki Aphidiinae tür sayısı 14’den 30’a, Türkiye Aphidiinae tür sayısı ise 47’den 54’e çıkartılmıştır.AbstractIn this study, the fauna of Aphidiinae within 71 localities and 8 different habitats in Edirne province between April-September 2014 have been investigated. Keys for species and genera were also provided.In the chosen 8 different habitats, it could not be observed the same species but Aphidius ervi, A. rosae and Praon exsoletum are ecologically the most tolerant species. In the meanwhile, 14 species (Aphidius colemani, A.eadyi, A.matricariae, A.picipes, A. smithii, A.urticae, Binodoxys acalephae, B.angelicae, Ephedrus persicae, E.plagiator, Praon abjectum, P.flavinode, P.nonveilleri, P.pubescens) have observed only in one habitat. For that reason, as well as their choise of habitat concerned they can be accepted as the most limited species of all.It was established that the herbaceous plants and fruit gardens are the richest habitats by the point of species numbers of Aphidiinae.As a result of this study, total number of species Aphidiinae in Edirne, with the addition of 16 new records, are reached to 30 and total number of species of Aphidiinae in Turkey, with the addition of 7 new records, are reached to 54

    Real time panoramic background subtraction on GPU

    In this study, we propose a method for panoramic background subtraction by using Pan-Tilt cameras in real-time. The proposed method is based on parallelization of image registration, panorama generation and background subtraction operations to run on Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). Experiments results showed that GPU usage increases speed of the algorithm 33 times without considerable performance loss and makes working real-time possible

    Rate-distortion optimization for stereoscopic video streaming with unequal error protection

    We consider an error-resilient stereoscopic streaming system that uses an H.264-based multiview video codec and a rateless Raptor code for recovery from packet losses. One aim of the present work is to suggest a heuristic methodology for modeling the end-to-end rate-distortion (RD) characteristic of such a system. Another aim is to show how to make use of such a model to optimally select the parameters of the video codec and the Raptor code to minimize the overall distortion. Specifically, the proposed system models the RD curve of video encoder and performance of channel codec to jointly derive the optimal encoder bit rates and unequal error protection (UEP) rates specific to the layered stereoscopic video streaming. We define analytical RD curve modeling for each layer that includes the interdependency of these layers. A heuristic analytical model of the performance of Raptor codes is also defined. Furthermore, the distortion on the stereoscopic video quality caused by packet losses is estimated. Finally, analytical models and estimated single-packet loss distortions are used to minimize the end-to-end distortion and to obtain optimal encoder bit rates and UEP rates. The simulation results clearly demonstrate the significant quality gain against the nonoptimized schemes

    Contribution to the knowledge of the Zygaenidae (Lepidoptera) of Türkiye

    The aim of this study is to contribute to the recent distribution and systematic classification of Zygaenidae (Lepidoptera) in 12 provinces in the Aegean, eastern Anatolia,&nbsp;and Thrace regions of Türkiye, with the records obtained from May 2020 to September&nbsp;2021. Specimens were collected or photographed at 49 out of 132 localities. Twenty Zygaenidae species from five genera belonging to Procridinae and Zygaeninae subfamilies were recorded:&nbsp;Theresimima&nbsp;Strand, 1917 (1 species),&nbsp;Rhagades&nbsp;Wallengren, 1863 (1 species),&nbsp;Adscita&nbsp;Retzius, 1783 (1 species),&nbsp;Jordanita&nbsp;Verity, 1946 (5 species), and&nbsp;Zygaena&nbsp;Fabricius, 1775 (12 species).&nbsp;Zygaena&nbsp;(Zygaena)&nbsp;ephialtes&nbsp;(Linnaeus, 1767) was recorded again nearly 200 years later since after Herrich-Schäffer’s first record in 1845.&nbsp;Zygaena&nbsp;(Mesembrynus)&nbsp;lydia&nbsp;Staudinger, 1887 endemic to Türkiye, was also recorded in this study. In addition, new&nbsp;localities of&nbsp;Zygaena&nbsp;(Agrumenia)&nbsp;armena&nbsp;Eversman, 1851, which is known only in Türkiye&nbsp;and Georgia, were also recorded from the Ardahan province in the eastern Anatolia region of&nbsp;Türkiye.</div

    Error Resilient Layered Stereoscopic Video Streaming

    In this paper, error resilient stereoscopic video streaming problem is addressed. Two different Forward Error Correction (FEC) codes namely Systematic LT and RS codes are utilized to protect the stereoscopic video data against transmission errors. Initially, the stereoscopic video is categorized in 3 layers with different priorities. Then, a packetization scheme is used to increase the efficiency of error protection. A comparative analysis of RS and LT codes are provided via simulations to observe the optimum packetization and UEP strategies

    The Determination of Several Morphological Features of Thrace Roller Breeds in Raised Thrace Region

    Bu çalışmada, ‘Trakya Makaracısı’ olarak bilinen güvercin ırkının bazı morfolojik özelliklerinin saptanması amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada Trakya Makaracısına ait farklı renklerde 30 erkek, 29 dişi olmak üzere toplam 59 ergin güvercin üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Güvercinlerin çeşitli vücut ölçülerinin cinsiyet ve renk alt gruplarına göre morfometrik özelliklerinin saptanmasına çalışılmıştır. Trakya makaracının öne çıkan en belirgin özelliği uçuş biçiminden isim aldıkları makara performansıdır. Bu güvercinler tepeli ve tepesiz olup renk bakımından beyaz, siyah, kırmızı, sarı, mavi ana renklerinde ve ara renkler olarak zeytini, nohudi ile çakal olarak adlandırılan ara renkleri de vardır. Bunun yanında Ölçülen ergin kuşlarda canlı ağırlık ortalaması erkeklerde 346 g ve dişilerde 324 g olup bu farklılık anlamlı bulunmuştur (P<0,05). Kuşların vücut uzunluğu ise erkek ve dişilerde sırasıyla 34,90 ve 33,93 cm olup fark anlamlıdır (P?0,05).The study was aimed to determination morphological characteristics of pigeon breed. Total 59 adult pigeon consisted of 30 male and 29 female were subjected to the research. The distiribution of descriptive statistics of this breed were investigated according to the gender and some subgroups.The most typical characteristics of Thrace Roller well flying figure called dropping down ward such as uncoiling of threads from the roller to the down wards. This pigeons are grouped according to the colour (white, black, red, yellow, blue main colour and some other intercolour and existence or nonexistence of typical feathering form on the head. The average live weights of adult pigeons were 346 and 324 g male and female respectively. The differences was statistically meaningfull (P<0,05). The average body length of adult pigeons were 34.90 and 33.93 cm male and female respectively. The differences was statistically meaningfull (P<0,05)

    Abstract Brucellosis is an infectious disease spread by consumption of non-pasteurized milk products or through contact with infected animals. Spinal involvement is one of the most important complications and the lumbar area is the most frequently affected site. Among the neurological consequences, nerve root compression can be a result of epidural abscess, granuloma or discitis secondary to vertebral body involvement. In this case report we present a 50-year-old male patient with brucellar discitis without spondylitis which caused lumbar disc herniation. We want to emphasize that discitis should also be considered in differential diagnosis of nerve root compression in suspected cases.Streszczenie Bruceloza to choroba zakaxna przenoszona przez spożycie niepasteryzowanych produktów mlecznych lub przez kontakt z zakażonym zwierzęciem. Zajęcie kręgosłupa jest jednym z najistotniejszych jej powikłań, a odcinek lędźwiowy to okolica najczęściej objęta zmianami chorobowymi. Uciśnięcie korzenia nerwowego jest jednym z neurologicznych następstw choroby i może być spowodowane ropniem nadtwardówkowym, ziarniniakiem lub zapaleniem krążka międzykręgowego wtórnym do zajęcia trzonu kręgu. Przedstawiono przypadek 50-letniego mężczyzny, u którego brucelozowe zapalenie krążka międzykręgowego bez zapalenia kręgu spowodowało wypadnięcie krążka międzykręgowego w odcinku lędxwiowym. Autorzy podkreślają, że zapalenie krążka międzykręgowego należy brać pod uwagę w rozpoznaniu różnicowym przyczyn uciśnięcia korzenia nerwowego
