A New Paradigm in Using Bamboo as Sustainable Material for Future Building Construction

The 21st century is a modern era with the human egoism of world greed that results in the imbalance of the earth and the release of carbon gases on ozone that are very worrying. The 'Sustainable Development Goals’ (SDG) by United Nation makes using sustainable materials such as bamboo for building construction. However, negative perception has made it a material that is not widely used. This study explores and observes the design transformations of bamboo building construction. The shaping of knowledge: communication of meaning through museum exhibition design / Shamsidar Ahmad … [et al.]

The primary objective of museum management in shaping of knowledge can be achieved by a communication of meaning through quality displays of the permanent collection or temporary exhibitions, the specimens of a continent or the interactive apparatus of science. This paper looks at research derived primarily from the museum scholars and experts with academics working in the field of visitor studies towards developing exhibits that facilitated visitor learning. These findings are recast the approach in order to offer an integrated framework for visitor behavior has implications for service management of the service encounter at the museum in Malaysia

Mosque Development in Malaysia: Is it the product of evolution and social behaviour?

Building of a mosque is a great achievement of the Muslim community. This research aims to introduce the idea of changing uses and meaning of the mosque in contemporary Muslim societies by evaluating the development and social behavior towards spaces in Malaysia mosques. The method is to examine textual reference Al Quran and hadith as a reference and to adopt quantitative and qualitative approach towards typological development of Mosque and social behavior of users in the case studies. Perceptions toward a sanctity of space are preferential to the prayer hall. It is through an honest response to such considerations rather than through a literal expression of past that the mosque of the future will retain their differences and remain close to the spirit of Islam.© 2016. Museum Learning: Using Research as Best Practice in Creating Future Museum Exhibition

AbstractThe purpose of this paper is the identification of issues from the perspective views of museum scholars and experts toward creating direction in developing museum exhibitions in Malaysia for public learning. Many researchers had recognised that museums are important path of broader learning and knowledge institution for the society. Recently, museums have developed a strong interest in technology as their path more towards of leisure industries. However, there are contradicting opinions arising between using “traditional” approach and “interactive” technology exhibition techniques for visitor learning. The issues identification will be based on only literature search focusing on their viewpoints on an effective and meaningful ideas in creating extensive and highly developed exhibition for future generation. This paper also initiates a search for such literature and identifies key concepts for further deliberations. Finally, these findings are intended to formulate the best-practice on learning “tool” in a museum exhibition practice
