Im N. Arch. XI, S. 409 - 410 theilt Dümmler aus der Hs. Nr. 544 der Gr. Hofbibliothek zu Darmstadt eine Reihe von Seelstiftungen mit; am Schlusse bemerkt er, er habe noch nicht ermitteln können, aus welchem Kloster diese Aufzeichnung stammt. Da ich dies nachzuweisen und ausserdem einige der vorkommenden Persönlichkeiten näher zu bestimmen vermag, wird man einen nochmaligen Abdruck des kurzen Eintrags entschuldigen. ..

Polyphenols from Ginkgo biloba

By Sephadex LH-20 gel chromatography of an extract from Gingko biloba leaves, polymeric proanthocyanidins were eluted after the fractions of flavonol glycosides and biflavone glycosides. A purified proanthocyanidin polymer accounted for 86.6% of the total proanthocyanidins, and for 37.7% of the total antioxidant activity of this leaf extract. For structure elucidation, the polymer was submitted to acidic depolymerization in the presence of phloroglucinol. The structures of the resulting flavan-3-ols and phloroglucinol adducts were determined on the basis of 1D-and reverse 2D-NMR (HSQC, HMBC) spectra of their peracetylated derivatives, MALDI-TOF-MS and CD-spectroscopy. The observations resulting from the degradation with phloroglucinol were confirmed by 13C-NMR spectroscopy of the polymer. The mean molecular weight of the polymeric fraction was estimated to be 9–10 flavan-3-ol-units

Comparative evaluation of different radical initiators, used for production of graft copolymers, based on atactic polypropylene

The possibility of application of atactic polypropylene, which isn't used practically in Russian industry right now, is considered in this article. Some series of experiments with different reaction conditions, types of comonomer, types and concentrations of initiators were performed. It was revealed that the copolymer of atactic polypropylene and styrene with initiation made by azoisobutyronitrile has better physical characteristics compared with the reagents. It was concluded that this modification of atactic polypropylene could be produced at the same regions, where propylene factories are located, and the copolymer itself could be used as a chemical additive for bitumens in perspective
