Perception of organizational politics (POP) is a critical issue for all organizations. Most of the researchers indicate that it has a negative effect on employee’s performance. This study finds the relationship between POP and employee’s well-being (EWB) by using interpersonal conflicts at work (ICW) and interpersonal trust at work (ITW) as mediators. The well-being of employees is an important factor to be studied because it covers overall happiness of employees which includes job satisfaction, performance, job loyalty etc. Therefore, without concerning the employee’s well-being, no organization can compete or lead in the competitive environment. So there is a research gap which needs to conduct a research study on employee’s well-being with the reference to perception of organizational politics. The main focus of this study is to find out the relationship between employee’s well-being and perception of organizational politics with the mediating effect of interpersonal conflicts at work and interpersonal trust at work. The sample size of this study is in a number of 223 with cross-sectional study and conducted in the famous city Lahore, Pakistan

A strong construction of S-box using Mandelbrot set an image encryption scheme

    Get PDF
The substitution box (S-box) plays a vital role in creating confusion during the encryption process of digital data. The quality of encryption schemes depends upon the S-box. There have been several attempts to enhance the quality of the S-box by using fractal chaotic mechanisms. However, there is still weakness in the robustness against cryptanalysis of fractal-based S-boxes. Due to their chaotic behavior, fractals are frequently employed to achieve randomness by confusion and diffusion process. A complex number-based S-box and a chaotic map diffusion are proposed to achieve high nonlinearity and low correlation. This study proposed a Mandelbrot set S-box construction based on the complex number and Chen chaotic map for resisting cryptanalytic attacks by creating diffusion in our proposed algorithm. The cryptosystem was built on the idea of substitution permutation networks (SPN). The complex nature of the proposed S-box makes it more random than other chaotic maps. The robustness of the proposed system was analyzed by different analysis properties of the S-box, such as nonlinearity, strict avalanche criterion, Bit independent criterion, and differential and linear probability. Moreover, to check the strength of the proposed S-box against differential and brute force attacks, we performed image encryption with the proposed S-box. The security analysis was performed, including statistical attack analysis and NIST analysis. The analysis results show that the proposed system achieves high-security standards than existing schemes

Date is one of the major cash fruits in Pakistan. Presently Pakistan stands at sixth position in dates producing countries. Date occupies third position after citrus and mango in terms of fruit area and production. The present study was conducted to explore the current margins of various stakeholders involved in the existing marketing system of dates in two leading districts of South Punjab district, as Dera Ghazi Khan and Muzaffar Garh. A sample of 40 farmers, 30 commission agents, 30 wholesalers, 30 retailers and 30 consumers was selected randomly. Pretested questionnaires were used to collect the data from selected respondents through personal interviews. Private sector is dominant in all major marketing activities. The market intermediaries in date marketing system involve commission agent, wholesaler and retailer. Different intermediaries were taking different margins according to form of dates and locality. In Dera Ghazi khan, commission agent was getting 13.55%, wholesaler 11.71% and retailer, 18.09% margins of marketing chain for fresh date and share of growers in consumer price was 56.09%. Commission agent was taking 14.13%, wholesaler, 10.67% and retailer 17.2%; margin of marketing chain for fresh date and share of growers in consumer price was 58% in Muzaffar Garh. The price of date is much high due to long chain of marketing system. In order to reduce the wholesale and retail prices, government should take measures to establish date marketing centers and supply chain management training programs for the date growers

Progressive Entity Resolution with Node Embeddings

    Get PDF
Entity Resolution (ER) is the task of finding records that refer to the same real-world entity, which are called matches. ER is a fundamental pre-processing step when dealing with dirty and/or heterogeneous datasets; however, it can be very time-consuming when employing complex machine learning models to detect matches, as state-of-the-art ER methods do. Thus, when time is a critical component and having a partial ER result is better than having no result at all, progressive ER methods are employed to try to maximize the number of detected matches as a function of time. In this paper, we study how to perform progressive ER by exploiting graph embeddings. The basic idea is to represent candidate matches in a graph: each node is a record and each edge is a possible comparison to check—we build that on top of a well-known, established graph-based ER framework. We experimentally show that our method performs better than existing state-of-the-art progressive ER methods on real-world benchmark datasets
