The inhibition efficiency of boiled red onion skin extracts (BROE) against tin corrosion in 0.2 M Maleic acid has been studied using electrochemical and surface analytical methods. The electrochemical polarization curves displayed the active/passive transition of the anodic behavior of the tin electrode. The electrochemical impedance measurements demonstrated the effect of increasing BORE concentration on the inhibition efficiency (η %) (to a ηmax = 94% at 300 mg/L of BORE). The inhibition mechanism is attributed to the formation of adsorbed protective layers, on the metal surface, that fit the Langmuir adsorption isotherm model. Increasing the temperature hindered the η values

Photophoretic Strength on Chondrules. 2. Experiment

Photophoretic motion can transport illuminated particles in protoplanetary disks. In a previous paper we focused on the modeling of steady state photophoretic forces based on the compositions derived from tomography and heat transfer. Here, we present microgravity experiments which deviate significantly from the steady state calculations of the first paper. The experiments on average show a significantly smaller force than predicted with a large variation in absolute photophoretic force and in the direction of motion with respect to the illumination. Time-dependent modeling of photophoretic forces for heat-up and rotation show that the variations in strength and direction observed can be well explained by the particle reorientation in the limited experiment time of a drop tower experiment. In protoplanetary disks, random rotation subsides due to gas friction on short timescales and the results of our earlier paper hold. Rotation has a significant influence in short duration laboratory studies. Observing particle motion and rotation under the influence of photophoresis can be considered as a basic laboratory analog experiment to Yarkovsky and YORP effects

Pemberlakuan Peraturan Dasar Sebagai Wadah Haluan Negara (Gagasan Redesain Garis-Garis Besar Haluan Negara (GBHN) Prespektif Sistem Peraturan Perundang-Undangan Di Indonesia)

    Get PDF
In the current era of economic development complexity, sustainable development has become a critical focus for many countries, including Indonesia. The aim of sustainable development is to achieve a balance between economic growth, environmental preservation, and social justice. Meeting these challenges requires a reconstruction of economic models that can achieve long-term sustainability by integrating ethical values, including Islamic values. The Qur'an and Sunnah form the basis of Islamic sciences, guiding various aspects of life, including economics. Islamic Economics, or Shariah Economics, represents a reconstructed economic model based on Islamic principles, using revelation, reason, and ijtihad (interpretation) as foundational elements. Principles such as the prohibition of usury (riba) and efforts to ensure fair wealth distribution aim to create a sustainable and inclusive economic environment. This research employs a literature review method to elucidate how Shariah Economics can serve as a solution for sustainable economic development in Sumbawa Regency. Emphasizing financial inclusion, empowerment of SMEs, and principles of justice in economic transactions, Shariah Economics offers a significant contribution to enhancing overall societal welfare

Corrosion behaviour of steel rebar: effect of simulated concrete pore solution and chloride ions

    Get PDF
In this work, we investigate the corrosion behavior of steel rebar (SR) in four simulated concrete pore solutions (CPS): NaOH+KOH (CPS1), Na2CO3 (CPS2), NaOH (CPS3) and Ca(OH)2 (CPS4) medium.  Effect of addition of Cl- anions as pollutant on pitting and uniform corrosion of SR is investigated by using potentiodynamic polarization (PDP) technic. The result obtained show that uniform and pitting corrosion of SR are strongly influenced by the nature of simulated CPS. In unpolluted CPS’s, only uniform corrosion of SR is observed in all cases. SR has excellent corrosion resistance in CPS4 compared to the other simulated CPS. In the polluted CPS’s by Cl- anions, we observe an accelerated uniform corrosion especially in CPS1, CPS3 and CPS4 mediums. The sensitivity to localized corrosion of SR varies from one simulated environment to another. It has the best resistance to pitting corrosion in polluted CPS3 medium. In CPS1 (pH = 13) and CPS2 (pH = 11.6) polluted by 3% NaCl, the tendency to pitting corrosion is the same. The localized attack is more pronounced in polluted CPS4 (pH=12.7). These results demonstrate that there are no limit values of the pH and the content of Cl- ions for the initiation of pitting and / or uniform corrosion. Therefore, it is the chemical composition of the simulated medium which imposes the pH value and the Cl- content for systematic corrosion study of the SR in the simulated CPS

This study was conducted to evaluate the use of CHROMagar Orientation for presumptive identification of enterococci from poultry, and to characterize the antimicrobial resistance of the isolates. Strains identification with conventional methods allowed confirmation of Enterococcus genus membership of all of the isolates on CHROMagar orientation (100%). Of the 141 enterococci isolates obtained from chicken, 81 (57.45%) were identified as Enterococcus faecalis and 60 (42.55%) as Enterococcus faecium. The antimicrobial susceptibility test presented high level of resistance to Tetracycline (89%) and Erythromycin (65%), low level of resistance to High Level of Streptomycin, Penicillin and Ciprofloxacin (13%, 10% and 9% respectively). Few of isolates were resistant to Chloramphenicol (2%). All the strains were susceptible to High Level of Gentamycin, Ampicillin, Vancomycin and Nitrofurantoin. The predominant phenotype of resistance pattern identified in both E.faecalis and E.faecium was (Erythromycin -Tetracycline)

Variability in almond oil chemical traits from traditional cultivars from eastern Morocco

In Morocco, cultivation of almond tree (Prunus amygdalus L.) constitutes the second most important plantation of fruit trees after olive growing. It is mostly cultivated in two regions, « Taza, Al Houceima Taounate » in the north and « Souss Massa Draa » in the south. Almond genetic resources (Marcoma, Fournat, Ferragnes/Ferraduel and Beldi), cultivated in eastern Morocco were studied during two consecutive crop years in order to evaluate variations in kernel oil yield, fatty acid profiles, oleic /linoleic (O/L) ratio and almond oils oxydative stability (OSI,evaluated by rancimat tests) in comparison to monovarietal olive oils. Almond kernel total oil (AO), Oleic acid (C18:1), Linoleic acid (C18:2), O/L-ratio, and tocopherol contents range between: 48 - 62% for kernel total oil; 65- 77.5% for C18:1; 17- 25% for C18:2; 2.5-4 for O/L ratio and 370 - 675 μg/g oil for tocopherols, respectively. We conclude that the genotype is the main variability source for all these chemical traits of AOs. Results obtained from Ferragnes/Ferraduel may be of interest for almond breeding focused to improve kernel oil yield and fatty acid profile. Besides, tocopherols contents of AOs seem to be the most important contributor for their stability to oxidation, even though compared to monovarietal olive oils, stability of AOs were very low and OSI value range between 20-27 hours. This fragility of AOs is due to their high content of unsaturated fatty acid which not allows their use for cooking or storage for long period. However, almond oils could have many applications in the food industry as in cosmeti
