Microperimetry and multimodal imaging in polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy
Polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) is a degenerative macular disease. The study determined the topographical concordance in the areal extent of PCV, defined by indocyanine green angiography (ICGA), and the corresponding outcomes from spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) and microperimetry, in 25 individuals (25 eyes) who had undergone 3 months of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor treatment. The differential light sensitivity within 10° eccentricity was evaluated by Pattern Deviation probability analysis. The concordances and proportional areal extents of the abnormality for ICGA, SD-OCT and microperimetry were compared. The concordance in the areal extent between all three modalities was 59%. The median concordance between ICGA and microperimetry was 60%; between ICGA and SD-OCT, 70%; and between SD-OCT and microperimetry, 72%. SD-OCT and microperimetry each identified a greater areal extent (>20%) compared to ICGA in 13 and 19 eyes, respectively. A greater areal extent (>20%) was present in 9 eyes for microperimetry compared to SD-OCT and in 5 eyes for SD-OCT compared to microperimetry. SD-OCT and microperimetry each identified a greater area of abnormality than ICGA which supports the clinical utility of SD-OCT. Strong concordance was present between SD-OCT and microperimetry; however, microperimetry identified additional areas of functional abnormality

2018 Best Practice Guidelines for the EU Code of Conduct on Data Centre Energy Efficiency: Version 9.1.0
The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector including data centres generates up to 2% of the global CO2 emissions and data centres are estimated to have the fastest growing carbon footprint from across the whole ICT sector, mainly due to new business such as the cloud computing and the rapid growth of the use of Internet services. The European Code of Conduct for Data Centre Energy Efficiency programme is a voluntary initiative created in 2008 in response to the increasing energy consumption in data centres and the need to reduce the related environmental, economic and energy supply security impacts. Companies participating on the Code of Conduct have to adopt best practices for energy management in data centres. The present report supplements to the Code of Conduct and present the updated (year 2018) version of the Best Practices. This report is provided as an education and reference document as part of the Code of Conduct to assist data centre operators in identifying and implementing measures to improve the energy efficiency of their data centres. A broad group of expert reviewers from operators, vendors, consultants, academics, professional and national bodies have contributed to and reviewed the Best Practices. This report provides a full list of the identified and recognised data centre energy efficiency best practices within the Code of Conduct. Customers or suppliers of IT services may also find it useful to request or provide a list of Code of Conduct Practices implemented in a data centre to assist in procurement of services that meet their environmental or sustainability standards.JRC.C.2-Energy Efficiency and Renewable
2016 Best Practice Guidelines for the EU Code of Conduct on Data Centre Energy Efficiency
The Best Practices are the energy efficiency actions that data centre operators can implement in their data centres to make them more efficient. Due to the fats technology developments in the ICT field, the Best Practices are revised every year to keep them up-to-date.These Best Practices shall be implemented by the Participants in the Code of Conduct, but are a very useful guide for all the other data centres operators.JRC.C.2-Energy Efficiency and Renewable

Prevalence of iron deficiency in 62,685 women of seven race/ethnicity groups: The HEIRS Study.
BackgroundFew cross-sectional studies report iron deficiency (ID) prevalence in women of different race/ethnicity and ages in US or Canada.Materials and methodsWe evaluated screening observations on women who participated between 2001-2003 in a cross-sectional, primary care-based sample of adults ages ≥25 y whose observations were complete: race/ethnicity; age; transferrin saturation; serum ferritin; and HFE p.C282Y and p.H63D alleles. We defined ID using a stringent criterion: combined transferrin saturation <10% and serum ferritin <33.7 pmol/L (<15 μg/L). We compared ID prevalence in women of different race/ethnicity subgrouped by age and determined associations of p.C282Y and p.H63D to ID overall, and to ID in women ages 25-44 y with or without self-reported pregnancy.ResultsThese 62,685 women included 27,079 whites, 17,272 blacks, 8,566 Hispanics, 7,615 Asians, 449 Pacific Islanders, 441 Native Americans, and 1,263 participants of other race/ethnicity. Proportions of women with ID were higher in Hispanics and blacks than whites and Asians. Prevalence of ID was significantly greater in women ages 25-54 y of all race/ethnicity groups than women ages ≥55 y of corresponding race/ethnicity. In women ages ≥55 y, ID prevalence did not differ significantly across race/ethnicity. p.C282Y and p.H63D prevalence did not differ significantly in women with or without ID, regardless of race/ethnicity, age subgroup, or pregnancy.ConclusionsID prevalence was greater in Hispanic and black than white and Asian women ages 25-54 y. p.C282Y and p.H63D prevalence did not differ significantly in women with or without ID, regardless of race/ethnicity, age subgroup, or pregnancy
Constraints From Gauge Coupling Unification On The Scale Of Supersymmetry Breaking
We reanalyze precision LEP data and coupling constant unification in the
minimal supersymmetric model including the evolution of the gaugino
masses. We derive general bounds on the primordial gaugino
supersymmetry-breaking mass-scale in terms of the various input
parameters. The model cannot accommodate m_{1/2}<1\TeV for values of \as <
0.115, even for extreme values of the other inputs. We emphasize
the sensitivity of this type of calculations to the various input parameters.Comment: 9 pages, 1 figure not included, ACT-10/9
