    Iradiasi Neutron Pada Bahan Ss316 Untuk Pembuatan Endovascular Stent

    Neutron Irradiation on SS316 Material for Radioactive Endovascular Stent Production. It was reported thatrestenosis could be prevented by radioactive endovascular stent. SS316 material of endovascular stent has beenirradiated at pneumatic rabbit system of G.A. Siwabessy reactor for 5 minutes for producing radioactive stent byneutron activation. After 10 days of decay, the irradiated SS316 was measured by gamma spectrometer. Theradioisotopes of 51Cr, 59Fe and 60Co were detected in the irradiated SS316 with radioactivity of 5990, 107 and 109Bq/mg respectively. The Calculation results showed that radioisotopes of 51Cr, 59Fe and 55Fe were produced by neutronactivation. The radioactivity of 51Cr, 59Fe and 55Fe were 6051, 70 and 110 Bq/mg respectively. In the irradiatedmaterials, the 55Fe was not detected because the radioisotope emitted radiation with very low energy (5.9 keV). It isconsidered that radioisotope of 60Co was produced from cobalt impurity in the SS316

    Synchrotron Polarization at High Galactic Latitude

    We present preliminary results from mapping the high-latitude Galactic polarization with the Effelsberg Telescope at λ\lambda21 cm. Structures on the resulting maps are mostly on the scale of several degrees. The results show detection of polarization over most of the field, at the level of tens of percent of the synchrotron emission. The evidence of more structure in Stokes Q and U rather than in Q2+U2\sqrt{Q^2+U^2} suggests the existence of Faraday rotation.Comment: To be published in the proceedings of "The Cosmic Microwave Background and its Polarization", New Astronomy Reviews, (eds.     Synthesis and Characterization of Superabsorbent Polymer Composites Based on Acrylic Acid, Acrylamide and Bentonite

    Superabsorbent polymer (SAP) is a hydrogel material which is capable of absorbing and or storing liquid up to a hundred times of its dry weight. SAP was synthesized from monomers of acrylic acid and acrylamide. Beside that a superabsorbent polymer composite (SAPC) was also made by grafting the SAP with bentonite. The polymerization processes were carried out using a chemical method of a ammonium persulphate (APS) as chemical initiator and N,N-methylene bisacrylamide (MBA) as crosslink forming materials at temperature of 70 oC in the 500 mL round flask. The homogeneity of the mixture was achieved by an adjustable magnetic stirrer. The result of polymer formed was identified using a FT-IR spectroscopy and the characteristic of absorption was studied using demineral water and 0.9 % NaCl solution. The maximum absorption capacity obtained fromSAP is 339 g/g in water and 65 g/g in NaCl solution, while themaximumabsorption rate obtained from SPAc is 19.43 g/min in water and 7.3 g/min in NaCl solution. It is interesting to note the absorption characteristic of SAP and SAPc above, the SAP is better in capacity of absorption while the SAPC is better in the rate of absorption. This phenomenon is supported by the result of morphology identification of SEM that shows the micro porous structure of SAP is bigger in number but smaller in pore sizes, while the micro porous structure of SAPC is smaller in number but bigger pore sizes

    Belajar matematika, ketika hanya terfokus pada perhitungan angka, akan datar, kehilangan keindahan dan kebermaknaan, terutama angka dan operasinya. Seseorang yang belajar matematika diperlukan adanya kepekaan terhadap angka dan operasinya. Para ahli menyebut jenis sensitivitas sebagai sensitivitas angka. Para ahli mengatakan, jika seseorang memiliki nalar yang baik, matematika akan menjadi indah dan menyenangkan, sehingga konsep itu menjadi lebih baik. Sensitivitas akan angka membantu seseorang untuk melihat logika dari hasil perhitungan, sehingga semangat matematika akan ditemukan, dan matematika akan bermakna bagi siswa. Ada beberapa orang berpendapat bahwa matematika itu membosankan. Kondisi ini memiliki efek negatif pada pemahaman matematika seseorang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana strategi siswa di SMKN Penerbangan Aceh dalam memecahkan masalah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan teknik purposive subjek. Subjek tersebut diambil dari siswa yang memiliki kemampuan matematika yang baik berdasarkan skor di semester ketiga. Hal ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan data yang diharapkan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil diskusi dan analisis data dari tiga belas pertanyaan sensitivitas angka menyimpulkan bahwa: enam siswa tidak memiliki sensitivitas yang baik dari strategi operasi angka

    , Background of the problems in this study was the variation of physical activity undertaken by students of SMPN 5 kopah, many types of activities will be related to physical fitness. However, lack of accurate data on students of SMPN 5 kopah makes researchers intersted to conduct this research. This research is descriptive, objective of this study was to determine the physical fitness of class V students at SMPN 5 Kopah District of Kuantan Tengah. Data obtained from the test results TKJI with a sample of 26 male students (purposive sampling). Based on the analysis of physical fitness of class V students at SMPN5 Kopah District of Kuantan Tengah, it is obtained: 1) To Level Physical Freshness fitness of class V students at SMPN5 Kopah District of Kuantan Tengah to both categories once and either no or 0%, 2) To Level Physical freshness fitness of class V students at SMPN5 Kopah District of Kuantan Tengah with category showed 11.5% with the number of students as much as 3, 3) to Level Physical freshness fitness of class V students at SMPN5 Kopah District of Kuantan Tengah with less category showed 69.2% with the number of students as many as 18 people, and 4) to Level Physical Freshness fitness of class V students at SMPN5 Kopah District of Kuantan Tengah with less category once showed 19.2% with the number of students as many as five people. From the above data it can be concluded that the physical fitness level of class V students at SMPN5 Kopah District of Kuantan Tengah classified in categories less, it is known from the value of the average value of 11:08 with less category as they are the sum of the values 10-13.

    Radioaktivitas Iodium-125 Pada Uji Produksi Menggunakan Target Xenon-124 Diperkaya

    Telah dilakukan uji produksi 125I menggunakan target xenondiperkaya dengan pengayaan 124Xe sebesar 82,4%. Target diiradiasi neutron di kamar iradiasidi posisi S1 pada reaktor G.A. Siwabessy. Setelah iradiasi selama 24 jam, gas xenon teriradiasidiluruhkan di dalam botol peluruhan selama 7 hari. Radioisotop 125I yang terbentuk di dalambotol peluruhan dilarutkan menggunakan NaOH 0,005N sebanyak 3 kali. Dari uji produksi ke-1sampai dengan ke-8 diperoleh radioaktivitas total 125I sebesar 9541, 9801, 11239, 9458, 3293,3735, 4693 dan 2744 mCi. Penurunan radioaktivitas total 125I disebabkan oleh penurunanjumlah gas target. Radioaktivitas 125I hasil pelarutan pertama bergantung pada volume larutanNaOH yang digunakan. Persentase rerata radioaktivitas 125I pada pelarutan pertama sebesar65,1%, 71,5% dan 82,6% dari radioaktivitas total untuk pelarutan menggunakan larutan NaOHdengan volume 3, 4 dan 5 mL. Konsentrasi radioaktivitas maksimum yang berhasil diproduksisebesar 3410 mCi/mL dari hasil pelarutan pertama dari uji produksi pertama

    Prospects for inhibition of lignin degrading enzymes to control ganoderma white rot of oil palm

    Oil palm (OP) is prone to a rot by the fungus Ganoderma which may be capable of being controlled by enzyme inhibitors. Palm oil is used in the production of vegetable oil for foods, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and, most recently, biodiesel. However, the fundamental process of the disease as “white rot” has been ignored by researchers. White rot fungi are capable of degrading lignin ultimately to carbon dioxide and water: Celluloses become available as nutrients for the fungus. One potential control method is to inhibit the ligninolytic enzymes. There are few data on the lignin of OP and none on how it is degraded by OP Ganoderma and so specific examples on how to inhibit the enzymes of the fungus is impossible. Fortunately, there is more information on lignin and lignin model compounds degraded by other fungi. The taxonomy of Ganoderma is confused; hence drawing direct comparisons between other taxa within the genus in terms of ligninolysis is of limited utility. In general, ligninolytic enzymes can be inhibited by (a) temperature, pH and aeration, (b) high carbon and high nitrogen and (c) halides, metal chelators, heavy metals, and reducing agents. These factors require to be tested against the enzymes from Ganoderma from OPs in vitro with a view to developing control methods in the field, and this is how the area requires to be progressed. Furthermore, the procedures may be useful to control other rots of trees and wood products. In the case of OP, such compounds could be (a) injected into (b) sprayed onto and/or (c) added to the soil of the OP. In conclusion, the control of Ganoderma of OP would benefit from investigating the effect of inhibitors on the lignin degrading enzymes in vitro to enable this to be applied in plantations
