Happiness plays essential role on building prosperity and success in any society. Happiness is one of the essential factors to reach prosperity and success in people’s life and jobs but happiness is not always the same as capability, but they may be correlated while capability is a necessary for having a happy life and happiness feeds back on capability in different ways. People who feel happy could better contribute to society and help other people build better future. This study performs a review on recently completed studies on factors, which influence happiness, new definitions of happiness. Studying the Relationship between Learning Styles and Progressive Teaching Methods among High Schools Students in the city of Isfahan

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between learning styles and progressive teaching methods among high schools students in the city of Isfahan. This study is a practical research from purpose view and is a descriptive-correlation one from research methodology perspective. The statistical population of this study includes all of the male and female students of high schools in the city of Isfahan in 2010-2011 academic year. This population consists of 86142 students. A sample of 150 students has been selected from this population through multi-stages cluster sampling. This sample consists of 79 female students and 71 male ones. In order to collect the research data, a standard questionnaire and a self-administrated questionnaire has been used. The first questionnaire that has been developed by Reid was used for examining learning styles among students and the second self-administrated one has been used for investigating the teaching methods. The reliability of the questionnaires has been examined through Cronbachs’ Alpha Coefficient. The coefficient was 0.68 and 0.94 for our questionnaire and confirms reliability of the questionnaires. Also the supervisor and other professors have been asked to review and modify the questionnaire and thereby its face validity has been examined and confirmed. The results of this study revealed that there is not any significant relationship between individual learning style and students’ preferred teaching methods. Also the results indicated that there is not any significant relationship between collective learning styles and students’ preferred teaching methods. Another part of the results showed that the relationship between project learning style and students’ preferred teaching methods is significant. Finally, the observed difference between students’ average of learning styles and their preferred teaching methods in terms of gender was significant. Investigating the Simple and Multiple Relationship between Learning Styles and Preferred Teaching Methods by High School Students in the City of Isfahan

The present study was aimed to investigate the relationship between learning styles and preferred teaching methods by high school students in the city of Isfahan. The study is a descriptive-correlational research. The statistical population of this study includes 86142 male and female students of high schools in the city of Isfahan in 2010-2011 academic years. A sample of 79 female students and 71 male ones has been selected from this population through multi-stages cluster sampling. In order to collect the research data and measure the research variables (learning styles and teaching methods), the standardized questionnaire of Reid(learning styles) and a self-administrated questionnaire of teaching methods have been employed. The results of this study revealed that there is significant multiple correlations between learning style and preferred teaching methods (r: 0.039). Based on the results of this study, it was revealed that there is not any significant relationship between individual learning style and students’ preferred teaching methods. Another part of the results showed that there is not any significant relationship between collective learning style and students’ preferred teaching methods. Finally, a significant relationship has been observed between project learning style and students’ preferred teaching methods

Evaluation of analgesic effects of intrathecal eugenol in male rats

زمینه و هدف: اوژنول مهمترین ماده تشکیل دهنده عصاره گیاه میخک (Eugenia caryophylata) است که به طور گسترده در دندانپزشکی جهت تسکین درد و التهاب موضعی استفاده می‌شود. از آنجایی که مطالعه‌ای در زمینه تزریق داخل نخاعی اوژنول از نظر شروع و طول مدت بیدردی انجام نشده است، لذا این مطالعه با هدف ارزیابی اثرات ضددردی تجویز داخل نخاعی اوژنول از نظر شروع و طول مدت اثر آن در موش های صحرایی نر انجام شده است. روش بررسی: در این مطالعه تجربی 51 سر موش صحرایی نر نژاد ویستار در سه گروه اوژنول و سه گروه نرمال سالین قرار گرفتند. 5 روز بعد از کاتتر گذاری در نخاع از ناحیه کمر (تحت بی‌هوشی) اثرات تجویز داخل نخاعی حجم‌های مختلف اوژنول و نرمال سالین (5، 10 و 15 میکرولیتر به ازای هر حیوان) در زمان‌های قبل از کاتترگذاری، قبل از تجویز و 10، 30، 180، 360، 720 و1440 دقیقه بعد از تجویز، روی درد ناشی از قرار دادن دم در آب ºc51 بررسی و مقایسه شد. داده‌ها با استفاده از آزمون آماری ANOVA و آزمون LSD تجزیه و تحلیل شد. یافته‌ها: نتایج این تحقیق نشان داد که عمق و طول مدت بیدردی اوژنول وابسته به دوز بوده و مقادیر بالاتر باعث فلج و بی‌حرکتی طولانی مدت گردید (05/0

Identifying finance strategies in central libraries of public universities in Tehran

Objective: The purpose of this study is to identify financing strategies in Tehran central library of public universities. Methods: This study in terms of implementation is library then survey, and data collection tools are study texts then a researcher made questionnaire. First, the current status of libraries in terms of funding from the heads or deputies or their representatives point of view is discussed. Then the questionnaires were distributed among the managers and librarians to inform us about their viewpoint about financing strategies. To measure the current situation the study population consisted of all managers and heads of 11 academic universities and the attitude assessment was in a census method. A total of 156 librarians responded to the questionnaires. The analysis of the findings of this study has been done through SPSS. Findings: The findings of the study show that the current strategies used to finance in the central libraries of academic universities of Tehran are not appropriate to the current situation. Besides, it was founded that there is a significant relationship between the main variables of the research, namely financing strategies, and its dimensions, and income-generating activities, financing methods, and training in the financing, respectively, have the greatest impact on financing strategies in university central libraries. Originality: This study for the first time examines the approach of financing in Tehran public university libraries in addition, using the perspectives of managers and librarians, offers some guidelines for financing in academic libraries

Economic Efficiency of Intensive Care Units Department of Hospitals Affiliated With Yazd University of Medical Sciences: A DEA Approach

Introduction:Hospitals as the most expensive health care system is an operational unit, considering the cost efficiency of this unit is very important. The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of the intensive care units of hospitals affiliated with Yazd University of Medical Sciences. Methods:This is a descriptive - analytic study performed in 2014. Intensive care units of 8 hospitals affiliated with Yazd University of Medical Sciences were included in this study. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) was used to evaluate the economic efficiency of intensive care units. Input variables included the number of physicians, nurses, and active beds, as well as the number of equipment (ventilator), and output variables included bed occupancy rate and the number of patients discharged healthy. Input prices contained the doctors and nurses income, bed price, and depreciation cost of equipment (ventilator). Results:The findings show that among 8 studied hospitals, the efficiency of 5 hospitals were 1 and the efficiencies of the other hospitals were 0.174, 0.645, and 0.855. The mean economic efficiency of intensive care units of all hospitals was 834.0 in 2014. Conclusion:By ameliorating the allocation of resources allocated for hospitals including human resources and equipment, the efficiency level of hospitals can be improved. Quadruplet Heterotopic Pregnancy Following In Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer with Laparotomic Removal of Ruptured Twin Tubal Ectopic Pregnancy: A Case Report

Heterotopic pregnancy (HP) is a rare occurrence in natural pregnancies. However, it can be a life-threatening condition and should be taken into account in all assisted reproductive treatments. Diagnosis and treatment of ectopic pregnancy are challenging issues in patients with HP. Here, we report a rare case of quadruplet HP following an in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer with a viable twin intrauterine pregnancy and ruptured live twin left tubal ectopic pregnancy. A 35-year-old woman (gravida 5, para 1, ectopic pregnancies 2, and abortion 1) was presented to the Emergency Department of Arash Women’s Hospital (Tehran, Iran) in March 2021 with abdominal pain. The patient was at six weeks and five days of pregnancy following in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer. Transvaginal sonography (TVS) revealed a live twin intrauterine pregnancy with a ruptured live twin left tubal ectopic pregnancy. The latter was removed via laparotomy to preserve the intrauterine pregnancy. The patient subsequently delivered a female infant at 38 weeks of pregnancy

The Efficacy of Cupping Therapy Added to Electroacupuncture and Exercise Therapy on Knee Osteoarthritis

Background: Electroacupuncture and exercise therapy have been used to treat knee osteoarthritis, but evidence for adding cupping to this treatment is lacking. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effect of cupping and acupuncture combined with exercise on knee osteoarthritis. Materials and Methods: This randomized control trial was done on 56 patients with knee osteoarthritis. We had two groups: a control and an intervention group. Both groups received electroacupuncture and exercise therapy programs. The intervention group received cupping after electroacupuncture plus exercise therapy. The Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Index (WOMAC) questionnaire and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) measured patient outcomes before and after treatment. Results: All patients' VAS and WOMAC scores decreased in these two groups after treatment. The difference between VAS and WOMAC scores and pain and knee function was significant compared to the intervention group with the control group (p<0.05). The difference in knee stiffness was not significant comparing the intervention group with the control group (p>0.05). Conclusion: Adding cupping therapy following electroacupuncture and exercise therapy significantly decreased pain and improved function
