    Penampilan Karakter Kuantitatif Dan Kualitatif Serta Keberhasilan Persilangan Pada Empat Varietas Stroberi (Fragaria X Ananassa Duch)

    Stroberi varietas lokal batu memiliki keunggulan yang tidak dimiliki oleh varietas yang lain, yaitu aroma buah yang harum. Akan tetapi, produksi buah sedikit karena ukuran buah yang lebih kecil. Petani telah meninggalkan varietas lokal karena varietas introduksi memiliki keunggulan pada produksi dan ukuran buah yang lebih besar akan tetapi memiliki aroma buah yang kurang dibanding lokal. Pemuliaan stroberi dapat diarahkan menuju perakitan varietas stroberi berdaya hasil tinggi dan juga memiliki aroma buah yang wangi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakter kuantitatif dan kualitatif serta kombinasi persilangan pada empat varietas stroberi. Penelitian dilaksanakan di lahan petani di Kelurahan Sisir, Kecamatan Batu, Kota Batu pada bulan September hingga Desember 2013. Percobaan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan yaitu (EB) : varietas earlibrite; (SC) : varietas sweet Charlie; (CL) : varietas california; (LB) : lokal batu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa varietas lokal memiliki jumlah anakan yang lebih banyak, umur berbunga yang lebih lambat dan bobot buah yang lebih kecil daripada varietas introduksi. Varietas lokal juga memiliki aroma yang lebih harum dan kekerasan buah yang lebih lunak daripada varietas introduksi. Hasil persilangan menunjukkan rata rata keberhasilan persilangan adalah 61.84 %

    Kampunganyar is one of the village in Banyuwangi regency that currenty develops and promotes its waterfall, so called Kampunganyar Waterfall, as a tourist atraction. The development cannot be separated from the effort of local communities to make the village get famous. In the process of the development, there were obstacles accured such as rejections the program and the conflict between local communities. In order to solve the problem, BUMDES (Badan Usaha Milik Desa), a kind of small corporation established by the village administration, is currenty manage the waterfall. This research aim to describe and explain the local community participation including factors affect community involvement , and to explain economic activitiy emerged. The research uses descriptive qualitatif method and data sources obtained from observation, interview, and documentation. The result of this research showed that the form public participation consisting of participation on deccision making, participation in the lmplementation, participatlion in the result of the development, and participation in evaluation. Factor that impedes the participation is derived from the social gap among society. Mean while, the push factors of participation comes from the eagerness to possess tourist attraction as what have already done by the neighboring villages. Activities arising is produce change jobs and income enchacement of the community

    Classification of Foetal Distress and Hypoxia Using Machine Learning Approaches

Foetal distress and hypoxia (oxygen deprivation) is considered as a serious condition and one of the main factors for caesarean section in the obstetrics and Gynecology department. It is the third most common cause of death in new-born babies. Many foetuses that experienced some sort of hypoxic effects can develop series risks including damage to the cells of the central nervous system that may lead to life-long disability (cerebral palsy) or even death. Continuous labour monitoring is essential to observe the foetal well being. Foetal surveillance by monitoring the foetal heart rate with a cardiotocography is widely used. Despite the indication of normal results, these results are not reassuring, and a small proportion of these foetuses are actually hypoxic. In this paper, machine-learning algorithms are utilized to classify foetuses which are experiencing oxygen deprivation using PH value (a measure of hydrogen ion concentration of blood used to specify the acidity or alkalinity) and Base Deficit of extra cellular fluid level (a measure of the total concentration of blood buffer base that indicates the metabolic acidosis or compensated respiratory alkalosis) as indicators of respiratory and metabolic acidosis, respectively, using open source partum clinical data obtained from Physionet. Six well know machine learning classifier models are utilised in our experiments for the evaluation; each model was presented with a set of selected features derived from the clinical data. Classifier’s evaluation is performed using the receiver operating characteristic curve analysis, area under the curve plots, as well as the confusion matrix. Our simulation results indicate that machine-learning algorithms provide viable methods that could delivery improvements over conventional analysis

    Mapping ergonomics application to improve SMEs working condition in industrially developing countries: a critical review

    In industrially developing countries (IDC), small and medium enterprises (SMEs) account for the highest proprotion of employment. Unfortunately, the working conditions in SMEs are often very poor and expose employees to a potentially wide range of health and safety risks. This paper presents a comprehensive review of 161 articles related to ergonomics application in SMEs, using Indonesia as a case study. The aim of this paper is to investigate the extent of ergonomics application and identify areas that can be improved to promote effective ergonomics for SMEs in IDC. The most urgent issue found is the need for adopting participatory approach in contrast to the commonly implemented top-down approach. Some good practices in ergonomics application were also revealed from the review, e.g. a multidisciplinary approach, unsophisticated and low-cost solutions, and recognising the importance of productivity. The review also found that more work is still required to achieve appropriate cross-cultural adaptation of ergonomics application. Practitioner Summary: Despite continuous efforts in addressing ergonomics issues in SMEs of IDC, workers are still exposed to poor work conditions. We reviewed factual-based evidence of current ergonomics application to inform future strategies of ergonomics in IDC, using Indonesia as a case study

    Exploring Student\u27s Blended Learning Through Social Media

    Information technology (IT) has been used widely in many aspects of our daily life. Social media as a leading application on the internet has changed many aspects of life become more globalized. This article discussed the use of social media to support learning activities for students in the faculty of computer science. The author used Facebook and WordPress as an alternative to electronic learning, those were: 1) online attendance tool, 2) media storage and dissemination of course materials, 3) and event scheduling for the lectures. Social media succeed to change the way of modern learning styles and environment. The results of this study are some learning activities such as (1) Preparation, (2) Weekly meeting activities, (3) Course Page, (4) Social Media as Online Attendance Tool, (5) Social Media as Learning Repository and Dissemination, and (6) Social Media as Online Event Scheduling.     KONTROL CATU DAYA DC 30V/15A MENGUNAKAN MIKROKONTROLER AT89C52 DENGAN METODE LOOK-UP TABLE UNTUK APLIKASI SISTEM PEMAGNETAN. Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai sistem pengontrol arus DC berbasis mikrokontroler Atmel AT89C52. Mikrokontroler mengatur transistor yang akan diaktifkan guna melewatkan arus DC untuk menghasilkan medan magnet homogen. Sistem ini menghasilkan variasi arus DC dari 1,8 A hingga 12 A. Variasi arus tersebut menghasilkan nilai medan magnet terukur yang bernilai 23 mT hingga 325 mT. Pengolahan data masukan dan data yang tersimpan dalam mikrokontroler menggunakan metode look-up table. Rangkaian mikrokontroler dan rangkaian catu daya tersebut dipisahkan /diisolasi dengan menggunakan optocoupler. Sistem pengontrol arus DC ini dapat dijadikan model awal untuk pengontrol medan magnet untuk tujuan magnetisasi pada sistem pemagnetan
