KONTRA-RADIKALISASI AGAMA BERBASIS AJARAN TASAWUF DI INSTITUT AGAMA ISLAM NEGERI PEKALONGAN
This study aims to explore the strategy of counter-radicalization of religion among IAIN Pekalongan students. Qualitative research in the form of field research is descriptive-analytical. Data collection through interviews and documentation. Students who became informants, namely students of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training and the Faculty of Usuludin Adab, and Da'wah. Secondary data in the form of a variety of scientific research that is correlated with the core of the discussion. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique is through data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results of the study stated that the strategy of counter-radicalization of religion among IAIN Pekalongan students was through the internalization of Sufism teachings with two methods. First, the ta'lim method, namely through teaching various Sufism teachings in learning Sufism courses in the classroom, including the teachings of zuhud, tawasuth, and rahmatan lil alamin. Second, the ta'dib method, namely the habit of reading Asmaul Husna on student activities, such as starting learning in class, completing fardhu prayers in congregation, and at the opening of every religious activity. The strategy of counter-radicalization of religion in practice can lead to the formation of moderate religious understanding and social attitudes of students, neither extreme left nor right. The theoretical implication of this research shows that the application of Sufism teachings is compatible in shaping the character of moderate Islamic understanding and religious attitudes, so that it can become the basis of values as well as the paradigm of counter-radicalization of religion The limitation of this research is that it has not examined the role of the local government or local community leaders in the succession of the religious counter-deradicalization program at IAIN Pekalonga
Mutation determination of rice by using RAPD primers
PCR is a powerful tool for the amplification of genetic sequences but sometimes, even though using an established PCR protocol that had been optimized and successful for the amplification of a particular DNA segment, use of that same protocol on a different region can result in a less than desirable outcome. Therefore, an experiment was conducted at Molecular biology laboratory of Malaysian Nuclear Agency during December 2016 to January 2017 used seeds of 6 indica rice cultivars. To conduce RAPD experiments for the rice species it was established the following reaction conditions for the final volume of 20 μl where 0.1 unit of Taq DNA polymerase, 0.4 μl of each dNTP, 2.5 mM MgCl2, 1 μl primer and 2.0 μl of DNA template. From this experiment, it is clear that after mutation the parent MR219 performed some genetic modification and produce genetically different variety namely NMR151, NMR152, ML3, ML10 and ML30. These mutant varieties have two different groups based on their mutation source and it is clear enough from their RAPD profile.

Interpretasi Bawah Permukaan Daerah Sumber Air Panas Diwak-derekan Berdasarkan Data Magnetik
Research has been carried out using a magnetic method that aims to interpret the subsurface structure of the area hot springs Derekan - Diwak based on the total magnetic field anomaly data. It also aims to investigate the geothermal system in the area. Some 99 points measurement areas were measured using PPM (Proton Precession Magnetometer) geometrics type GSM19T models to get the value of the total magnetic field and two points as a base station simultaneously measured using the PPM G856X models. Measurement data is processed by the daily variation correction and IGRF (International Geomagnetic Reference Field) correction. The data has been used to create a contour corrected total magnetic field anomalies and subsurface cross sections involving the upward continuation and reduction to the poles. The results of study showed the total magnetic field anomaly closure pair of positive and negative closure indicate a fault zone below the surface. Interpretation is strengthened by the results of the modeling showed two faults of Derekan - Diwak areas trending southwest- northeast. This fault zone is a media outlet fluid to the surface in the area of geothermal systems
Biochemical Study and Molecular Approaching on Eight Wild Herbals Used in Folk Medicine in Al-Baha Region, KSA
studies describing the traditional therapeutic uses of natural medicinal and aromatic plants have been established in Al-Baha region, KSA. In this work, the antioxidant activity of eight herbals plant samples from Al-Baha region was studied using different solvents (ethanol, hexane and water) to evaluate their strong and total lipid-soluble antioxidant and water-soluble antioxidant activity (TLAC37,95 and TWAC37,95). The eight herbal plants were also molecularly characterized using the PCR-based ISSR markers. The studied samples demonstrated valuable and variable antioxidant properties. The strong antioxidant capacity of Rumex (Rumex nervosus Vahl.) samples for ethanolic and aqueous extract samples was the highest followed by Fringed Rue (Ruta chalepensis L.) samples (47.68 and 42.72 & 81.74 and 74.18 µmoles/g respectively), while hexanic extracts of Euryops (Euryops arabicus Steud. ex Jaub. & Spach) samples revealed the highest strong antioxidant capacity followed by Fringed Rue samples (23.67 and 13.83 µmoles/g respectively). Besides that, ethanolic extracts of Fringed Rue samples demonstrated the highest total antioxidant capacity followed by olive leaves (Olea europaea subsp. cuspidata (Wall. & G.Don) Cif.) samples (686.95 and 462.62 µmoles/g respectively), while aqueous extracts of Rumex samples revealed superior total antioxidant capacity followed by olive leaves samples and Fringed Rue samples (869.10, 837.21 and 743.75 µmoles/g respectively. But the hexanic extracts of Fringed Rue samples revealed valuable total antioxidant capacity followed by Rumex samples (127.83 and 38.00 µmoles/g respectively. The herbal plants of Rumex, Fringed Rue and olive revealed huge both total and strong antioxidant activity. In the present study we began an initial approach to authenticate and identify different plant species in our study using inter-simple sequence repeats (ISSRs) molecular markers
Activity of bovine parainfluenza type 3 virus in cattle in North Eastern Nigeria -A short communication
Parainfluenza type 3 virus (PI3V) is a primary agent of Bovine Shipping Fever worldwide. The activity of the virus was accessed through a sero-survey using the haemagglutination inhibition (HI) test. Out of 656 cattle sampled from Adamawa, Bauchi, Taraba and Borno States, 51.37% were seropositive. The reciprocal of HI titres ranged between 21 and 212. The geometric mean HI titres ranged from 106 in Borno State to 686 in Adamawa State. The implication of these findings to the possible occurance of shipping fever along cattle routes is discussed
Long-Term Outcomes of Everolimus Therapy in De Novo Liver Transplantation: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials
BACKGROUND: Risk of nephrotoxicity in liver transplant patients on calcineurin inhibitors (CnIs) is a concern. Several controlled trials reported benefit of everolimus (EVR) in minimizing this risk when combined with a reduced CnI dose. BACKGROUND: To systematically review the efficacy and safety of EVR, alone or with reduced CnI dose, as compared to CnI alone post-liver transplantation. METHODS: We searched MEDLINE, Scopus, and the Cochrane Library for randomized controlled trials comparing EVR- and CnI-based regimens post-liver transplantation. Assessment of studies and data extraction were undertaken independently. RESULTS: Eight studies were selected, describing 769 patients. Cockcroft-Gault GFR was higher at one (PÂ = .05), 3, and 5 years (PÂ = .030) in patients on EVR compared to those receiving CnI therapy. The composite endpoint of efficacy failure was similar between the 2 arms after 1, 3, and 5 years of study. More patients discontinued EVR due to adverse effects in 1 year; however, no difference was noted after 3 or 5 years. A higher rates of proteinuria, peripheral edema, and incisional hernia occurred in patients on EVR. CONCLUSIONS: The analysis confirms noninferiority of EVR and reduced CnI combination. Combination regimen resulted in better renal function compared to standard CnI therapy
Oestradiol-17β plasma concentrations after intramuscular injection of oestradiol benzoate or oestradiol cypionate in llamas (Lama glama)
<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Llamas (<it>Lama glama</it>) are induced ovulators and the process of ovulation depends on dominant follicular size. In addition, a close relationship between behavioural estrus and ovulation is not registered in llamas. Therefore, the exogenous control of follicular development with hormones aims to predict the optimal time to mate. Oestradiol-17β (E2) and its esters are currently used in domestic species, including camelids, in synchronization treatments. But, in llamas, there is no reports regarding the appropriate dosages to be used and most protocols have been designed by extrapolation from those recommended for other ruminants. The aim of the present study was to characterize plasma E2 concentrations in intact female llamas following a single intramuscular (i.m.) injection of two oestradiol esters: oestradiol benzoate (EB) and oestradiol cypionate (ECP).</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>Twelve non pregnant and non lactating sexually mature llamas were i.m. injected on day 0 with 2.5 mg of EB (EB group, n = 6) or ECP (ECP group, n = 6). Blood samples were collected immediately before injection, at 1, 6, 12, 24 h after treatment and then daily until day 14 post injection. Changes in hormone concentrations with time were analyzed in each group by analysis of variance (ANOVA) using a repeated measures (within-SS) design. Plasma E2 concentrations and area under the concentration-time curve (AUC) values were compared between groups by ANOVA. In all cases a Least-Significant Difference test (LSD) was used to determine differences between means. Hormonal and AUC data are expressed as mean ± S.E.M.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Peak plasma E2 concentrations were achieved earlier and were higher in EB group than in ECP group. Thereafter, E2 returned to physiological concentrations earlier in EB group (day 5) than in ECP group (day 9). Although plasma E2 profiles differed over time among groups there were no differences between them on AUC values.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>The i.m. injection of a single dose of both oestradiol esters resulted in plasma E2 concentrations exceeding physiological values for a variable period. Moreover, the plasma E2 profiles observed depended on the derivative of oestradiol administered. This basic information becomes relevant at defining treatment protocols including oestrogens in llamas.</p
BIOINFORMATICS: INFLAMMATORY CYTOKINES AND ATTENUATION OF DIABETES HYPERCHOLESTEROLEMIA-INDUCED RENAL INJURY USING MORNING GLORY AND NECKLACE POD EXTRACTS
Objective: The present research in bioinformatics focuses on pharmacological effects of morning glory and necklace pod ethanolic extracts (MGE and NPE) on some biochemical parameters in high fat diet-induced hypercholesterolemia and streptozotocin-induced hyperglycemia in rats. Methods: Compared to atorvastatin; an anti-hypercholesterolemic (HC) and glibenclamide; an antidiabetic drug. Endothelium activation markers of soluble vascular cell adhesion molecule (VCAM)-1 and intercellular adhesion molecule (ICAM)-1 were determined using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Creatinine, urea, and inflammatory biomarkers; C-reactive protein (CRP) and pro-inflammatory cytokines including tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin (IL)-10 levels were also measured in serum of different therapeutic groups. Results: Significant decrease in ICAM-1 level with MGE and NPE supplemented to normal rats as compared to untreated control with percentages decrease 17.80 and 12.00% was observed. Insignificant change was detected in VCAM-1 level. Profound amelioration in CRP, total urea and creatinine levels by NPE treatment. Creatinine, urea, CRP, and TNF-α level were significantly increased in hyperglycemic (HG)-HC rats. However, IL-10 level showed a significant decrease. Meanwhile, histopathological investigation of the kidney and heart was carried out. Image recognition system for kidney and heart images was developed to diagnose their diseases. Tested extract attenuated creatinine, urea, CRP, and TNF-α level. Hyperglycemia and hypercholesterolemia linked kidney disorders were relieved. Conclusion: In vivo oral administration with each extract declared suppression of cytokines mediated inflammation, vascular function leading to infiltration reduction of renal macrophage together with lowering in kidney indices and ameliorate renal tissues architectures in HG-HC rats
