    Empowerment of Women's Leadership Through Various Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Programmes

    This systematic literature review identifies women's leadership empowerment through various Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes. Women in leadership positions offer numerous advantages and play a crucial role in achieving gender equality and fostering a more inclusive and prosperous society. 20 articles based on qualitative and quantitative research from prominent research platforms such as Scopus, Directory of Open Access Journal (DOAJ), and Google Scholar were analysed using PRISMA guidelines. The review determines nine training programme domains and their impact on the development of women's leadership, such as Change Management, Coaching and Mentoring, Conflict Resolution, Communication Skills, Gender Equality, Inspiring workers, Leading Innovation, Problem-solving, and Project Management. The findings reveal the significance of implementing and expanding specialised TVET programmes to ensure women's active participation and leadership in various sectors. This study highlights the transformative potential of TVET in empowering women and calls for further research and policy development in this field. &nbsp

    IMPAK MEDIA SOSIAL TERHADAP TINGKAH LAKU SOSIAL PELAJAR DI KOLEJ VOKASIONAL

    Social media networks have created a phenomenon on the internet that helps maintain relationships with other users. However, in recent times there are a handful of teenagers who are too obsessed with the use of social media that result in the phenomenon of social media addiction. Therefore, this study is conducted to examine the impact of social media on student's social behaviour in vocational colleges. The study was quantitative. The sample of the study consisted of 345 vocational college students. The research instrument involved a set of questionnaires that contained 41 items and used the Likert scale as a measure. The mean score analysis and standard deviation are used to see the purpose of using and the impact of social media among students. T-test is used to see the impact of social media impact on gender-based social behaviour. There are social media effects on students such as wasting time, depression and stress as students are exposed to immoral videos and pictures. Furthermore, there was no significant difference in the impact of social media on students based on student gender based on t-test. In conclusion, social media has had a negative impact on the students. Thus, high awareness needs to be applied to students to curb social behaviour problems

    Penggunaan alat bahan bantu mengajar (ABBM) berasaskan multimedia dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran (P&P) telah terbukti dalam meningkatkan keberkesanan pengajaran dan pembelajaran (pdp). Kajian ini dijalankan untuk meninjau tahap penggunaan ABBM berasaskan multimedia dalam kalangan guru serta persepsi guru terhadap kepentingan penggunaan ABBM berasaskan multimedia dalam pdp. Seramai 40 orang guru teknik dan vokasional di lima buah sekolah menengah zon Benut telah dipilih sebagai responden dalam kajian ini. Analisis data adalah menggunakan perisian Statistical For Social Science (SPSS) Versi 22.0. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan tahap penggunaan ABBM berasaskan multimedia adalah sederhana. Manakala persepsi guru terhadap kepentingan penggunaan ABBM berasaskan multimedia adalah positif. Kesimpulannya kajian ini menunjukkan bahawa walaupun guru mempunyai persepsi yang positif terhadap kepentingan penggunaan ABBM berasaskan multimedia namun tahap penggunaannya masih di peringkat sederhana. Ini menunjukkan bahawa inisiatif atau kesedaran dalam penggunaan ABBM berasaskan multimedia perlu ditingkatkan

    EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS OF TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL STUDENTS WITH HEARING IMPAIREMENTS: EMPLOYERS' PERSPECTIVES

    This study aims to explore the employers’ requirement for employability skills of the technical and vocational students who are hearing impaired. The research instrument used was adapted from the Secretary's Commission on Achieving Necessary Skills (SCANS) which consists of thirty nine items. The employability skills surveyed include basic skills, thinking skills, personal qualities, sourcing skills, information skills, interpersonal skills, system skills and technology skills. The instrument was distributed to 110 industry employers throughout Malaysia. However, only 23 (21%) employers returned the survey form. The majority of respondents are from service industry (78.2%) including the retail, food service, restaurants and hotel as well as the fashion designing industry. A high percentage of the respondents (65.2%) are Human Resource Manager who had one to five years of working experience. Based on the survey, the three top most highly rated skills are, personal qualities (M=4.37, SD=.39), basic skills (M=4.10, SD=.58) and interpersonal skills (M=4.07, SD=.47). Knowing the skills that employers demand from their hearing impaired employees, institutions can provide the appropriate training to prepare their hearing impaired graduates for future employment

    Pembangunan dan kemajuan teknologi mudah alih berkembang pesat setelah teknologi ini diterapkan dalam sistem pendidikan di Malaysia. M-pembelajaran adalah pendekatan pembelajaran yang menentukan penguasaan pengetahuan dan kemahiran melalui teknologi mudah alih. Oleh yang demikian, kajian ini dijalankan bagi mengkaji tahap penggunaan m-pembelajaran dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran, faktor-faktor yang penggunaan m-pembelajaran serta sikap pelajar terhadap penggunaan m-pembelajaran ini dalam kalangan pelajar politeknik. Kajian ini berbentuk tinjauan secara deskriptif dan melibatkan seramai 322 sampel pelajar Politeknik Ibrahim Sultan. Borang soal selidik digunakan sebagai instrumen bagi tujuan pengumpulan data. Data yang diperolehi dianalisis menggunakan perisian SPSS versi 21.0. Hasil analisis didapati tahap penggunaan m-pembelajaran dalam kalangan pelajar adalah tinggi. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi penggunaan m-pembelajaran seperti persepsi kebergunaan (Perceived Usefulness - PU) dan persepsi mudah digunakan (Perceived Ease of Use-PEOU) berada pada tahap tinggi. Manakala sikap pelajar terhadap penggunaan m-pembelajaran dalam pembelajaran sangat positif. Dapatan kajian ini berguna kepada pensyarah serta pentadbir politeknik dalam meningkatkan penggunaan m-pembelajaran dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran

    Program coaching di organisasi telah lama bertapak di Malaysia, namun begitu, kajian mengenai coaching masih pada tahap yang rendah. Setiap pekerja mempunyai bakat yang berbeza dan tertentu. Terdapat pelbagai cara dan kaedah dalam menyerlahkan bakat seseorang. Salah satu daripada kaedah-kaedah adalah melalui bimbingan pembimbing. Dengan nasihat dan pandangan daripada pembimbing, pekerja dapat menyerlahkan bakat dalam kerja yang diberikan, seterusnya melahirkan pekerja yang berkemahiran tinggi. Kajian ini adalah membincangkan mengenai pendekatan coaching dalam organisasi di Malaysia bagi meningkatkan prestasi pekerja. Setiap pekerja mempunyai set kemahiran dan pengetahuan yang berbeza apabila memasuki bidang pekerjaan. Pihak organisasi perlu melantik pembimbing yang sesuai yang akan ditugaskan untuk membantu pekerja menyesuaikan diri pada tempat yang baru. Mereka juga perlu membimbing pekerja mendapatkan set kemahiran dan pengetahuan yang diperlukan di dalam unit yang baru agar bersesuaian dengan tugasan yang diberikan

    The Potential of Using Augmented Reality (AR) Technology as Learning Material in TVET

    In the field of education today, people can choose from a variety of ways and methods to acquire specific information and skills; here are some good examples: classroom lectures with textbooks, computers, hand-held devices, and other electronics appliances such as tablets and smartphones. In a rapidly changing society, there are countless sources of knowledge and a great deal of available information; hence, adopting an appropriate method and applying relevant information at the right time and place are important in both schools and business settings. The augmented reality (AR) technology is one of the most advanced developments in the education sector tailored for 21st Century learning. With so much to offer, it is worthwhile to investigate the potential of integrating AR into the teaching-learning processes. This study focuses on exploring the possibility of merging TVET learning materials with the AR technology; the survey was carried out among the lecturers to gauge their knowledge and perception of AR as well as the relationship between the two elements. This quantitative study includes randomly selected samples of 230 lecturers from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). The respondents were given a questionnaire to answer. The SPSS version 22 software package was used to analyse the data collected. Overall, the mean score indicates that the lecturers' knowledge level for AR technology is high. The lecturers also have a positive perception of using AR as a tool to incorporate and present the learning materials. Finally, this study discovers that there is a positive relationship between the lecturers’ information about AR and their perception of using AR as a vehicle to deliver the learning materials. AR is expected to achieve widespread adoption in schools, universities and colleges,  TVET and other higher learning institutions. Therefore, this study may be useful to the developers and providers of augmented reality solutions, end users of these solutions, teachers and students, and the experimenting digital communities.&nbsp

    Towards Digital TVET: A Comparative Study on Students’ Readiness in The Industry Digital Demands in Indonesia and Malaysia

    One of the current challenges in the industrial revolution 4.0 is the acceleration of digitalization in vocational education, which is also required to meet various industrial demands, including digital skills. This study aims to measure and analyse the digital skills level possessed by students who have experience in the industry. The study involves two universities, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) and University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). By using an online questionnaire, 259 students from UPI and UTHM answered 21 questions to measure five digital competence domains as described in the European Digital Competence Framework, which are information, communication, content creation, safety, and problem-solving. Each option on the questions indicates the level of digital competencies measured by scores. The data were analysed using descriptive statistics, such as frequency distribution, mean, standard deviation and independent sample t-test. The result shows that on average, both UPI and UTHM students scored in the intermediate level, with UTHM students scoring slightly higher than UPI students on average. Interestingly, both UPI and UTHM students scored the highest in the information domain and the lowest in problem-solving. It shows that the hypothesis was not accepted as there is a significant difference in the digital skills of the students from both countries. Based on the findings, the result is expected to provide input and improvement in the targeted aspects based on the findings
