Proximity Full-Text Search with a Response Time Guarantee by Means of Additional Indexes
Full-text search engines are important tools for information retrieval. Term
proximity is an important factor in relevance score measurement. In a proximity
full-text search, we assume that a relevant document contains query terms near
each other, especially if the query terms are frequently occurring words. A
methodology for high-performance full-text query execution is discussed. We
build additional indexes to achieve better efficiency. For a word that occurs
in the text, we include in the indexes some information about nearby words.
What types of additional indexes do we use? How do we use them? These questions
are discussed in this work. We present the results of experiments showing that
the average time of search query execution is 44-45 times less than that
required when using ordinary inverted indexes.

Field theory of scaling lattice models. The Potts antiferromagnet
In contrast to what happens for ferromagnets, the lattice structure
participates in a crucial way to determine existence and type of critical
behaviour in antiferromagnetic systems. It is an interesting question to
investigate how the memory of the lattice survives in the field theory
describing a scaling antiferromagnet. We discuss this issue for the square
lattice three-state Potts model, whose scaling limit as T->0 is argued to be
described exactly by the sine-Gordon field theory at a specific value of the
coupling. The solution of the scaling ferromagnetic case is recalled for
comparison. The field theory describing the crossover from antiferromagnetic to

Lorenz System Parameter Determination and Application to Break the Security of Two-channel Chaotic Cryptosystems
This paper describes how to determine the parameter values of the chaotic
Lorenz system used in a two-channel cryptosystem. The geometrical properties of
the Lorenz system are used firstly to reduce the parameter search space, then
the parameters are exactly determined, directly from the ciphertext, through
the minimization of the average jamming noise power created by the encryption

J-Class Abelian Semigroups of Matrices on C^n and Hypercyclicity
We give a characterization of hypercyclic finitely generated abelian
semigroups of matrices on C^n using the extended limit sets (the J-sets).
Moreover we construct for any n\geq 2 an abelian semigroup G of GL(n;C)
generated by n + 1 diagonal matrices which is locally hypercyclic but not
hypercyclic and such that JG(e_k) = C^n for every k = 1; : : : ; n, where (e_1;
: : : ; e_n) is the canonical basis of C^n. This gives a negative answer to a
question raised by Costakis and Manoussos.Comment: 10 page
3D printing dimensional calibration shape: Clebsch Cubic
3D printing and other layer manufacturing processes are challenged by
dimensional accuracy. Several techniques are used to validate and calibrate
dimensional accuracy through the complete building envelope. The validation
process involves the growing and measuring of a shape with known parameters.
The measured result is compared with the intended digital model. Processes with
the risk of deformation after time or post processing may find this technique
beneficial. We propose to use objects from algebraic geometry as test shapes. A
cubic surface is given as the zero set of a 3rd degree polynomial with 3
variables. A class of cubics in real 3D space contains exactly 27 real lines.
We provide a library for the computer algebra system Singular which, from 6
given points in the plane, constructs a cubic and the lines on it. A surface
shape derived from a cubic offers simplicity to the dimensional comparison
process, in that the straight lines and many other features can be analytically
determined and easily measured using non-digital equipment. For example, the
surface contains so-called Eckardt points, in each of which three of the lines
intersect, and also other intersection points of pairs of lines. Distances
between these intersection points can easily be measured, since the points are
connected by straight lines. At all intersection points of lines, angles can be
verified. Hence, many features distributed over the build volume are known
analytically, and can be used for the validation process. Due to the thin shape
geometry the material required to produce an algebraic surface is minimal. This
paper is the first in a series that proposes the process chain to first define
a cubic with a configuration of lines in a given print volume and then to
develop the point cloud for the final manufacturing. Simple measuring

A detailed analysis of online pharmacy characteristics to inform safe usage by patients
Background: Evidence suggests that consumers potentially put themselves at risk when purchasing medicines on-line. Whilst logos provided by regulators may provide some level of reassurance there may be other indicators which could be used by consumers to identify those websites which may be safely used. Objectives: Identify characteristics of on-line pharmacies which are related to whether websites are regulated or non-regulated and those characteristics which could be used by patients to increase the likelihood of accessing regulated sites. Setting: Online pharmacies which supply diazepam, fluoxetine and simvastatin. Methods: Using piloted search terms via Google and Yahoo search engines, identified websites were screened for regulatory status, adherence to regulatory standards, administrative requirements, clinical assessment requirements and additional details deemed to be of relevance to a user. Characteristics of regulated and non-regulated (defined as those with an absence of a correctly linked regulatory logo) websites were compared to identify differences which could be used to improve patient safety. Main outcome measure: Regulatory status, adherence to regulatory standards, quality of information provision, barriers to medicines access. Results: 113 websites sold diazepam, fluoxetine and simvastatin; were identified within the first 100 results. Less than quarter were found to be regulated online pharmacies. 80 websites were willing to sell the medication without a prescription. The unregulated internet pharmacy websites (defined as those with an absence of a correctly linked regulatory logo) were found to adhere more closely to the clinical criteria, were less significantly likely to disclose a contact name and address, telephone number of the pharmacy or demand a prescription prior to sale (P\0.05, Fisherâs Exact). Conclusions: The three prescription-only medicines which are liable to abuse, have potentially serious interactions and require counselling to ensure patient safety are readily available via the internet. When purchasing medicines via this route UK consumers should be made aware of the importance of regulatory logos and additionally should ensure that the seller can be meaningfully contacted by the contact details provided. The provision of clinical information should not be used alone as an indication of the sellerâs provenance

Electronic properties of SnO2-based ceramics with double function of varistor and humidity sensor

The official published version can be obtained from the link below - Copyright @ 2010 AD-Tech.Tin dioxide based varistor ceramics SnO2-Co3O4-Nb2O5-Cr2O3-xCuO (x=0; 0.05; 0.1 and 0.5) were made and their electrical properties were studied. The highest nonlinearity coefficient and electric field (at current density 10-3 A cm-2) were obtained for 0.1 mol.% CuO addition. It was observed that low-field electrical conductivity is increased with relative humidity, therefore, materials obtained exhibit double function of varistor and humidity sensor. The highest humidity sensitivity coefficient is found for SnO2-Co3O4-Nb2O5-Cr2O3 ceramics (without CuO). Observed varistor and humidity-sensitive properties are explained in the frames of grain-boundary double Schottky barrier concept as a decrease of the barrier height with electric field or relative humidity. Using suggested simple theory and data obtained on isothermal capacitance relaxation, the energy of the grain-boundary monoenergetic trapping states were estimated. These values are less than found for activation energy of electrical conduction (as a measure of the barrier height).
