Poisson-Lie T-duality and N=2 superconformal WZNW models on compact groups

The supersymmetric generalization of Pisson-Lie T-duality in N=2 superconformal WZNW models on the compact groups is considered. It is shown that the role of Drinfeld's doubles play the complexifications of the corresponding compact groups. These complex doubles are used to define the natural actions of the isotropic subgroups forming the doubles on the group manifolds of the N=2 superconformal WZNW models. The Poisson- Lie T-duality in N=2 superconformal U(2)-WZNW model considered in details. It is shown that this model admits Poisson-Lie symmetries with respect to the isotropic subgroups forming Drinfeld's double Gl(2,C). Poisson-Lie T-duality transformation maps this model into itself but acts nontrivialy on the space of classical solutions. Supersymmetric generalization of Poisson-Lie T-duality in N=2 superconformal WZNW models on the compact groups of higher dimensions is proposed.Comment: 12 pages, latex, misprints correcte

Structure and three-body decay of 9^9Be resonances

The complex-rotated hyperspherical adiabatic method is used to study the decay of low-lying 9^9Be resonances into one neutron and two α\alpha-particles. We investigate the six resonances above the break-up threshold and below 6 MeV: 1/2±1/2^\pm, 3/2±3/2^\pm and 5/2±5/2^\pm. The short-distance properties of each resonance are studied, and the different angular momentum and parity configurations of the 8^8Be and 5^5He two-body substructures are determined. We compute the branching ratio for sequential decay via the 8^8Be ground state which qualitatively is consistent with measurements. We extract the momentum distributions after decay directly into the three-body continuum from the large-distance asymptotic structures. The kinematically complete results are presented as Dalitz plots as well as projections on given neutron and α\alpha-energy. The distributions are discussed and in most cases found to agree with available experimental data.Comment: 12 pages, 10 figures. To appear in Physical Review

The complex-rotated hyperspherical adiabatic method is used to study the decay of low-lying 9^9Be and 9^9B resonances into α\alpha, α\alpha and nn or pp. We consider six low-lying resonances of 9^9Be (1/2±1/2^\pm, 3/2±3/2^\pm and 5/2±5/2^\pm) and one resonance of 9^9B (5/25/2^-) to compare with. The properties of the resonances at large distances are decisive for the momentum distributions of the three decaying fragments. Systematic detailed energy correlations of Dalitz plots are presented.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figures. Proceedings of the SOTANCP2 conference held in Brussels in May 201

A Way to Dynamically Overcome the Cosmological Constant Problem

The Cosmological Constant problem can be solved once we require that the full standard Einstein Hilbert lagrangian, gravity plus matter, is multiplied by a total derivative. We analyze such a picture writing the total derivative as the covariant gradient of a new vector field (b_mu). The dynamics of this b_mu field can play a key role in the explanation of the present cosmological acceleration of the Universe.Comment: 5 page

    A Two-loop Test of Buscher's T-duality I

We study the two loop quantum equivalence of sigma models related by Buscher's T-duality transformation. The computation of the two loop perturbative free energy density is performed in the case of a certain deformation of the SU(2) principal sigma model, and its T-dual, using dimensional regularization and the geometric sigma model perturbation theory. We obtain agreement between the free energy density expressions of the two models.Comment: 28 pp, Latex, references adde

Scale Factor Duality: A Quantum Cosmological Approach

    Get PDF
We consider the minisuperspace model arising from the lowest order string effective action containing the graviton and the dilaton and study solutions of the resulting Wheeler-Dewitt equation. The scale factor duality symmetry is discussed in the context of our quantum cosmological model.Comment: 10 pages, plain tex, uses panda.tex (appended

Spacetime and the Holographic Renormalization Group

Anti-de Sitter (AdS) space can be foliated by a family of nested surfaces homeomorphic to the boundary of the space. We propose a holographic correspondence between theories living on each surface in the foliation and quantum gravity in the enclosed volume. The flow of observables between our ``interior'' theories is described by a renormalization group equation. The dependence of these flows on the foliation of space encodes bulk geometry.Comment: 12 page
