    This study aimed to analyze to find out if there is a difference in the perception of costumer from instant messaging application WHATSAPP and LINE. From this analysis can be known whether there is a difference by age have different perceptions or have same perception of application instant messaging WHATSAPP and LINE, also aims to analyze most dominant variable against consumerperception and most distinguishes variable between WHATSAPP and LINE. The population taken in this research are consumers who ever use instan messaging WHATSAPP and LINE. Samples used in this research some 400 respondents used by non-probability sampling technique with approach quota sampling ( the sample based on predetermined amount). A method of analysisis used is quantitative ananlysis that is using Mann-Whitney U. The variable brand image is a factor that most distinguishes between instant mesagging aplication WHATSAPP and LINE with Z-value -2,857 then followed by feature of -2,221, design of -2,118 and reference group of -1,084. Hypothesis testing is done using Z test showed that consumers perception of the difference from instant messaging application WHATSAPP and LINE occurred against the variable viewed from brand image , feature and design. But consumer perception of differences did not happen to the variable viewed from reference goup variable. While the most dominant perception based on WHATSAPP respondent are Reference Group while LINE respondents are brand image.Costumer age above 25 years old have more preferable perception on WHATSAPP compared to who is aged 17-25 years old. Costumer aged 17-25 years old have more prefereable perception on LINE compared to who is aged above 25 years old

    Word Embeddings for Entity-annotated Texts

    Learned vector representations of words are useful tools for many information retrieval and natural language processing tasks due to their ability to capture lexical semantics. However, while many such tasks involve or even rely on named entities as central components, popular word embedding models have so far failed to include entities as first-class citizens. While it seems intuitive that annotating named entities in the training corpus should result in more intelligent word features for downstream tasks, performance issues arise when popular embedding approaches are naively applied to entity annotated corpora. Not only are the resulting entity embeddings less useful than expected, but one also finds that the performance of the non-entity word embeddings degrades in comparison to those trained on the raw, unannotated corpus. In this paper, we investigate approaches to jointly train word and entity embeddings on a large corpus with automatically annotated and linked entities. We discuss two distinct approaches to the generation of such embeddings, namely the training of state-of-the-art embeddings on raw-text and annotated versions of the corpus, as well as node embeddings of a co-occurrence graph representation of the annotated corpus. We compare the performance of annotated embeddings and classical word embeddings on a variety of word similarity, analogy, and clustering evaluation tasks, and investigate their performance in entity-specific tasks. Our findings show that it takes more than training popular word embedding models on an annotated corpus to create entity embeddings with acceptable performance on common test cases. Based on these results, we discuss how and when node embeddings of the co-occurrence graph representation of the text can restore the performance.Comment: This paper is accepted in 41st European Conference on Information Retrieva

    Graphene-perovskite fibre photodetectors

    The integration of optoelectronic devices, such as transistors and photodetectors (PDs), into wearables and textiles is of great interest for applications such as healthcare and physiological monitoring. These require flexible/wearable systems adaptable to body motions, thus materials conformable to non-planar surfaces, and able to maintain performance under mechanical distortions. Here, we prepare fibre PDs combining rolled graphene layers and photoactive perovskites. Conductive fibres (∼\sim500Ω\Omega/cm) are made by rolling single layer graphene (SLG) around silica fibres, followed by deposition of a dielectric layer (Al2_{2}O3_{3} and parylene C), another rolled SLG as channel, and perovskite as photoactive component. The resulting gate-tunable PDs have response time∼\sim5ms, with an external responsivity∼\sim22kA/W at 488nm for 1V bias. The external responsivity is two orders of magnitude higher and the response time one order of magnitude faster than state-of-the-art wearable fibre based PDs. Under bending at 4mm radius, up to∼\sim80\% photocurrent is maintained. Washability tests show∼\sim72\% of initial photocurrent after 30 cycles, promising for wearable applications

    Effect of Age on Variability in the Production of Text-Based Global Inferences

    As we age, our differences in cognitive skills become more visible, an effect especially true for memory and problem solving skills (i.e., fluid intelligence). However, by contrast with fluid intelligence, few studies have examined variability in measures that rely on one’s world knowledge (i.e., crystallized intelligence). The current study investigated whether age increased the variability in text based global inference generation–a measure of crystallized intelligence. Global inference generation requires the integration of textual information and world knowledge and can be expressed as a gist or lesson. Variability in generating two global inferences for a single text was examined in young-old (62 to 69 years), middle-old (70 to 76 years) and old-old (77 to 94 years) adults. The older two groups showed greater variability, with the middle elderly group being most variable. These findings suggest that variability may be a characteristic of both fluid and crystallized intelligence in aging

    Genetic and biochemical diversity of Paenibacillus larvae isolated from Tunisian infected honey bee broods

    Paenibacillus larvae is the causative agent of American foulbrood (AFB), a virulent disease of honeybee (Apis mellifera) larvae. In Tunisia, AFB has been detected in many beekeeping areas, where it causes important economical losses, but nothing is known about the diversity of the causing agent. Seventy five isolates of P. larvae, identified by biochemical tests and 16S rRNA gene sequencing, were obtained from fifteen contaminated broods showing typical AFB symptoms, collected in different locations in the northern part of the country. Using BOX-PCR, a distinct profile of P. larvae respect to related Paenibacillus species was detected which may be useful for its identification. Some P. larvae-specific bands represented novel potential molecular markers for the species. BOX-PCR fingerprints indicated a relatively high intraspecific diversity among the isolates not described previously with several molecular polymorphisms identifying six genotypes on polyacrylamide gel. Polymorphisms were also detected in several biochemical characters (indol production, nitrate reduction, methyl red and oxidase test). Contrary to the relatively high intraspecies molecular and phenotypic diversity, the in-vivo virulence of three selected P. larvae genotypes did not differ significantly, suggesting that the genotypic/phenotypic differences are neutral or related to ecological aspects other than virulence

    School toilets : queer, disabled bodies and gendered lessons of embodiment

    In this paper we argue that school toilets function as one civilising site (Elias, 1978) in which children learn that disabled and queer bodies are out of place. This paper is the first to offer queer and crip perspectives on school toilets. The small body of existing school toilet literature generally works from a normative position which implicitly perpetuates dominant and oppressive ideals. We draw on data from Around the Toilet, a collaborative research project with queer, trans and disabled people (aroundthetoilet.wordpress.com) to critically interrogate this work. In doing this we consider ‘toilet training’ as a form of ‘civilisation’, that teaches lessons around identity, embodiment and ab/normal ways of being in the world. Furthermore, we show that ‘toilet training’ continues into adulthood, albeit in ways that are less easily identifiable than in the early years. We therefore call for a more critical, inclusive, and transformative approach to school toilet research

However, concerns for the health and welfare of the GSD have been widely aired and there is evidence that breed numbers are now in decline in the UK. Accurate demographic and disorder data could assist with breeding and clinical prioritisation. The VetCompassTM Programme collects clinical data on dogs under primary veterinary care in the UK.
