    The role of neuroimaging in the treatment strategy for epilepsy

    <p><em>Objective</em>: estimate advantages of using high feld brain MRI in the epilepsy diagnostics. <em>Methods. </em>Examination of 586 patients with different types of epilepsy was performed to fnd epileptogenic changes in brain substance. <em>Results. </em>Clinical examples, that illustrate importance of using high feld MRI (1.5 T and more) during examination of the patients with epilepsy in accordance with the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) guidelines, are described. <em>Conclusion. </em>High feld MRI is necessary for timely assessment of the etiology of the disease and the treatment optimization.</p&gt

    The possibility of the high quality AZO thin films fabrication by the PLD method using the second harmonic of the Q-switched YAG:Nd3+ laser is demonstrated. The investigations of dependence of the AZO thin films properties on the PLD conditions (concentration of Al in the target, buffer gas pressure) have been conducted.     Design study of the UELV-10/5-15S accelerating structure

    The UELV-10/5-15S electron linear accelerator is intended for use in the sterilization applications. Electron energy can be continuously variable from 5 to 10 MeV by changing the accelerated beam current. The 2 m long accelerating structure includes a standing wave buncher, a travelling wave accelerating part and an on-axis resonant RF load. Beam dynamics calculations have been made taking into account space charge forces. Optimization of the buncher parameters permitted to achieve capture efficiencies up to 75% with no external focussing. It is expected that beam powers from 13 kW to 15 kW will be obtained in the 5 to 10 MeV energy range

    Application of laser texturing method for mc-Si solar cells fabrication

    The results of the experiments on the “black” mc-Si surface fabrication by the nanosecond pulses of the YAG laser second harmonic and on application of the introduced laser texturing method for the mc-Si solar cells efficiency improvement are represented. The developed version of laser texturing permits producing a low-reflection mc-Si surface with the reflectance of ~3% in the spectral range of 0.3-1.1 μm. The application of the introduced laser texturing method in mc-Si solar cells fabrication makes it possible to increase the short circuit current density and quantum efficiency

    ИССЛЕДОВАНИЕ ВРЕМЕНИ ПЕРЕКЛЮЧЕНИЯ АБОНЕНТСКОГО УСТРОЙСТВА МЕЖДУ СЕТЬЮ LTE И КОГНИТИВНОЙ РАДИОСЕТЬЮ

    This paper presents a model for handover time estimation when user equipment switches from a long term evolution (LTE) or fourth generation (4G) network to a cognitive wireless network (CWN). This procedure is relevant for a mobile tactile Internet, for example. The discussed handover can be characterized as an intersystem vertical handover. The intersystem handover is a terminal switching procedure between networks with different radio access technologies and authorization methods at a given location. A standard for a regional CWN was officially approved by international Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2011 and is based on the using of “white spaces”. “White space” is a temporary unused television (TV) channel that was originally assigned to the TV broadcasting. The paper shows the synthesis process for the basic procedure of setting up an IP-session in a regional CWN and initiating a dynamic traffic flow. Another phase of the discussed procedure involves the releasing of a 4G mobile network resources after IP session was established in a regional CWN. A vertical handover procedure is presented as a sequence of 39 signaling messages spanning the time period from the discovery of CWN to the full completion of switching procedure and service delivery continuation at the CWN. Unlike the estimation methods for open queueing network, the proposed method includes not only the main foreground traffic but the background traffic too. An estimation of switching time was obtained for several service time distribution functions.Современное абонентское устройство позволяет использовать сети радиодоступа различных стандартов. Для повышения гибкости использования радиочастотного спектра актуально использование системы когнитивного радио для беспроводного широкополосного доступа в дополнение к сетям LTE. Системы когнитивного радио позволяют использовать для приема и передачи временно свободные участки радиочастотного спектра, например, в телевизионном диапазоне частот от 54 МГц до 862 МГц. Время, за которое абонентское устройство может осуществить межсистемное переключение из текущей сети LTE в целевую когнитивную радиосеть, является одним из ключевых показателей производительности в условиях минимизации задержек передачи информации в современных сетях. Поэтому в статье разработана процедура и аналитическая модель для оценки времени переключения абонентского устройства из LTE в когнитивную радиосеть. Приведены численные оценки времени переключения для различной интенсивности запросов от абонентских устройств
