Lagrangian description of the radiation damping
We present a Lagrangian formalism to the dissipative system of a charge
interacting with its own radiation field, which gives rise to the radiation
damping \cite{Heitler}, by the indirect representation doubling the phase-space
dimensions.Comment: 3 page
Obtaining non-Abelian field theories via Faddeev-Jackiw symplectic formalism
In this work we have shown that it is possible to construct non-Abelian field
theories employing, in a systematic way, the Faddeev-Jackiw symplectic
formalism. This approach follows two steps. In the first step, the original
Abelian fields are modified in order to introduce the non-Abelian algebra.
After that, the Faddeev-Jackiw method is implemented and the gauge symmetry
relative to some non-Abelian symmetry group, is introduced through the
zero-mode of the symplectic matrix. We construct the SU(2) and SU(2)xU(1)
Yang-Mills theories having as starting point the U(1) Maxwell electromagnetic
theory.Comment: 6 pages. Revtex 4.
Metafluid dynamics and Hamilton-Jacobi formalism
Metafluid dynamics was investigated within Hamilton-Jacobi formalism and the
existence of the hidden gauge symmetry was analyzed. The obtained results are
in agreement with those of Faddeev-Jackiw approach.Comment: 7 page
Association Of Inflammation, Dyslipidemia, Obesity And Physical Activity Status In Children
The aim of this study was to verify the association between inflammatory biomarkers, dyslipidemia, obesity and physical activity status in 10-years old children. Ninety-four children participated in this study and were classified into eutrophic (n=36), overweight (n=34) or obese (n=24) according to their body mass index (BMI). The genic expression of interleukin 6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and chemokine C-C motif ligand 2 (CCL-2) mRNA; the serum concentration of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) and triglycerides; BMI, percentage of body fat (% BF) and waist circumference; and the number of steps per day were determined. The expression of IL-6, TNF-α and CCL-2 were associated (p 0.05) between pro-inflammatory biomarkers and number of steps per day was found.222182

METHODOLOGIES TO STUDY THE BEHAVIOR OF HERBICIDES ON PLANTS AND THE SOIL USING RADIOISOTOPES
ABSTRACT In Brazil, the “Pesticide Act” (Act no. 7,802/89) has introduced new criteria related to the environment, public health and agronomic performance in the analyses of pesticide-related activities. Likewise, radioisotopes are used for environmental behavior and in planta studies, since they provide some advantages in comparison to chemical measures, including greater sensitivity, stepwise description of a particular element in a metabolic system, and pesticide position and detection through X-ray films and/or radio image (in plants) and liquid scintillation (in plants and soil), respectively. This review describes methodologies related to radioisotope utilization in studies on herbicide absorption, translocation and metabolism in plants, as well as in studies on herbicide biodegradation, mineralization, leaching and sorption-desorption on the soil. The step-by-step of the described methodologies is based on the guidelines that were established, mostly by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). On this review, methodological information on soil and plant studies, using radioisotopes, is available to Brazilian researchers. Thus, the objective of this review is to stimulate the conduction of further studies that use the methodologies described herein.</jats:p
