A Diffractive Study of Parametric Process in Nonlinear Photonic Crystals
We report a general description of quasi-phase-matched parametric process in
nonlinear photonic crystals (NLPC) by extending the conventional X-ray
diffraction theory in solids. Under the virtual wave approximation,
phase-matching resonance is equivalent to the diffraction of the scattered
virtual wave. Hence a modified NLPC Ewald construction can be built up, which
illustrates the nature of the accident for the diffraction of the virtual wave
in NLPC and further reveals the complete set of diffractions of the virtual
wave for both of the air-dielectric and dielectric-dielectric contacts. We show
the two basic linear sequences, the anti-stacking and para-stacking linear
sequences, in one-dimension (1D) NLPC and present a general rule for multiple
phase-matching resonances in 1D NLPC. The parameters affecting the NLPC
structure factor are investigated, which indicate that not only the Ewald
construction but also the relative NLPC atom size together determine whether a
diffraction of the virtual wave can occur in 2D NLPC. The results also show
that 1D NLPC is a better choice than 2D NLPC for a single parametric process
Perturbative transport experiments on TJ-II Flexible Heliac
Transport properties of TJ-II are explored performing perturbative experiments and taking advantage of TJ-II flexibility. Rotational transform can be varied in a wide range, which allows one to introduce low order rationals and to study their effect on transport. On the other hand, confinement properties can be studied at very different rotational transform values and for different values of magnetic shear: Experiments on influence of the magnetic shear on confinement are reported. In these cases a Ohmic current has been induced in TJ-II plasma to modify magnetic shear and to evaluate itsd effect on confinement, showing that negative shear improves the confinement. Heat transport is also reduced by locating a low order rational near the power deposition profile. Plasma potential profiles have been recently measured in some configurations up to the plasma core with the Heavy Ion Beam Probe (HIBP) diagnostic and the electric field values measured in low-density plasmas are consistent with neoclassical calculations near the plasma core. Plasma edge turbulent transport has been studied in configurations that are marginally stable due to decreased magnetic well. Results show a dynamical coupling between gradients and turbulent transport. Finally, cold pulse propagation has been studied showing ballistic non diffusive propagation

Late complications of the treatment of patients with germ cell tumors [Поздние осложнения лечения больных с герминогенными опухолями]
Germ cell tumors are one of the highly sensitive to chemotherapy, and about 80 % of patients can be cured even having metastases. Apart from acute toxicity, chemotherapy is characterized by late complications that occur many years later and not only negatively affect the quality of life, but in some cases are life-threatening. The review summarizes the results of studies on the late complications’ occurrence and prevention when treating patients with germ cell tumors. © 2020 ABC-press Publishing House. All rights reserved
