A multiparameter family of irreducible representations of the quantum plane and of the quantum Weyl algebra
We construct a family of irreducible representations of the quantum plane and
of the quantum Weyl algebra over an arbitrary field, assuming the deformation
parameter is not a root of unity. We determine when two representations in this
family are isomorphic, and when they are weight representations, in the sense
of Bavula.Comment: 12 pages, Section 2 has been reorganized, new material added in a new

Point-Coupling Models from Mesonic Hypermassive Limit and Mean-Field Approaches
In this work we show how nonlinear point-coupling models, described by a
Lagrangian density that presents only terms up to fourth order in the fermion
condensate , are derived from a modified meson-exchange
nonlinear Walecka model. The derivation can be done through two distinct
methods, namely, the hypermassive meson limit within a functional integral
approach, and the mean-field approximation in which equations of state at zero
temperature of the nonlinear point-coupling models are directly obtained.Comment: 18 pages. Accepted for publication in Braz. J. Phy
Cycloaddition reactions of nitrosoalkenes, azoalkenes and nitrile oxides mediated by hydrotalcite
Mg:Al 3:1 hydrotalcite (Ht), used in catalytic quantities, promotes the generation of nitrosoalkenes, azoalkenes and nitrile oxides. These can be intercepted in situ by heterocycles and olefins in [4+2] and [3+2] cycloaddition reactions, producing dihydro-1,2-oxazines, tetrahydropyridazines and isoxazolines. The regeneration and reuse of Ht without loss of activity and the absence of organic solvent are the main advantages of this methodology
ProFuelDB : an open-access database of physiological properties of biofuel-producing anaerobic prokaryotes
Anaerobic microorganisms are attractive for the synthesis of fuels and chemicals, but information on the physiology of culturable anaerobes is dispersed in scientific literature. Herewith we present the ProFuelDB, a web-based publicly available database prototype compiling information on the physiology of anaerobic prokaryotes with relevance for biofuels production. It is foreseen that this prototype will evolve into a broader database of physiological properties of anaerobic prokaryotes
with biotechnological relevance
Homogenization and seismic assessment : review and recent trends
The mechanics of masonry structures has been for long
underdeveloped in comparison with other fields of knowledge. Presently,
non-linear analysis is a popular field in masonry research and
advanced computer codes are available for researchers and practitioners.
The chapter presents a discussion of masonry behaviour and
clarifies how to obtain the non-linear data required by the computations.
The chapter also addresses different homogenisation techniques
available in the literature in the linear and rigid-plastic case,
aiming at defining a catalogue and at discussing the advantages and
disadvantages of the different approaches. Special attention is given
to stress assumed models based either on a polynomial expansion
of the micro-stress field or in the discretization of the unit cell by
means of a few constant stress finite elements CST with joints reduced
to interfaces. Finally, the aspects of seismic assessment are
presented and case studies involving the use of macro-block analysis,
static (pushover) analysis and time integration analysis are
discussed.(undefined
Caso Raro de Quisto do Colédoco Todani Tipo III
rare biliary tree disorders, which are divided in several subtypes according to Todani classification. Type III choledochal cyst is one of the rarest subtype. Symptoms are almost always associated with complications such as cholangitis or pancreatitis, usually due to biliary stasis, choledocholithiasis, recurrent infection or inflammatory events. This article describes a case of a patient who presented to the emergency department due to fever and abdominal pain, owing to Todani type III cystic obstruction with representative findings in the computed tomography study and endoscopic confirmation.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Canonical Analysis of the Jackiw-Teitelboim Model in the Temporal Gauge. I. The Classical Theory
As a preparation for its quantization in the loop formalism, the
2-dimensional gravitation model of Jackiw and Teitelboim is analysed in the
classical canonical formalism. The dynamics is of pure constraints as it is
well-known. A partial gauge fixing of the temporal type being performed, the
resulting second class constraints are sorted out and the corresponding Dirac
bracket algebra is worked out. Dirac observables of this classical theory are
then calculated.Comment: 15 pages, Latex. Misprint correction
