    Water diffusivity in model biological membranes

    Water self-diffusion was studied in model biological membranes (lipid bilayers of dioleoylphosphatidylcholine (DOPC) and dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine) by nuclear magnetic resonance with pulsed field gradient. The results for DOPC-water bilayers for three different orientations of the angle θ between the direction of the field gradient and the normal to the bilayer (θ = 57.4, 90, 0°) were presented. The differences in the diffusion decay shapes and values of the diffusion coefficients, obtained at different bilayer orientations and demonstrating highly anisotropic diffusion of the interbilayer water was discussed. This study also has shown some features of water diffusion in model lipid bilayers at the concentrations corresponding to the presence of bound and quasi-free water. The dependence of the water and lipid diffusion on the water content was considered from the point of view of the bilayers hydration and types of interbilayer water

    The article is devoted to the development of emotional intelligence of preschool children using art therapy. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to develop the potential of the child in the field of interaction with other people, to form the resource of social success. The article contains a review of scientific publications aimed at the study of human emotional intelligence, as well as the study of a set of art therapeutic methods effective in working with children. The definitions of such phenomena as “art therapy,” “emotional intelligence” are given. The author offers the definition of the concept “emotional intelligence.” Attention is paid to the structure of emotional intelligence. The content of its components, such as the perception of emotions, identification of emotions, understanding of the causes of their occurrence is considered. An important part of the article is the results of a diagnostic examination of emotional intelligence of children of preschool age. The results of a comparative analysis of the level of development of emotional intelligence of children before the formative experiment and after its completion are presented. It is proved that the use of such art methods as the reflection of the emotional states of a person through drawing, role-playing emotional states, joining the emotional states of the characters through literary work contribute to the development of such components of emotional intelligence as perception, identification of emotions, determining the causes of their occurrence

    Costs of HIV-infection treatment in Russian Federation are a considerable burden on national resources.Study objective: calculation of one year costs for first line antiretroviral therapy (ART) according to Recommendations (clinical guidelines) of Russian Federal/National Research and Methodology Centre of AIDS Prevention and Treatment, with assessment of patient access within a fixed budget.Materials and methods: Cost calculation for acquisition of one year of ART is based on Emergency Drug List (EDL) registered prices by Ministry of Health including the VAT and 10% trade surplus. Comparisons are performed within treatment categories recommended by Russian clinical guidelines. ART selections within categories are assumed to be of similar efficacy and tolerability, according to Russian guidelines.Results and discussion: annual cost of first line ART per patient vary from 44 to 286 thousand RUR. The choice of ART is primarily based on clinical situation and co-morbidity. Among ART regimens in the same treatment category, assuming similar clinical efficacy and tolerability profiles, the less costly are preferable.Conclusions: comparison of alternative antiretroviral first line treatment regimens with comparable clinical efficacy and tolerability profiles demonstrates that cost minimization based on drug prices can grant access to treatment to maximum number of patients. Lopinavir/ritonavir is the less costly option in several guideline-recommended categories of first line regimens.Затраты на терапию ВИЧ-инфицированных пациентов в РФ весьма велики.Целью работы являлся расчет затрат на антиретровирусную терапию (АРВТ) первой линии в соответствии с Рекомендациями Федерального научно-методического центра по профилактике и борьбе со СПИДом.Материалы и методы: расчет осуществлялся на основе зарегистрированных цен с учетом НДС и 10% торговой надбавки.Результаты и обсуждение: затраты на АРВТ первой линии в расчете на 1 пациента в течение года варьируют в пределах 44–286 тыс. руб. При этом выбор должен быть обусловлен, в первую очередь, особенностями клинической ситуации и наличием у пациентов сопутствующей патологии. В то же время при сравнении сопоставимых по клинической эффективности и переносимости альтернативных режимов АРВТ целесообразно назначение наименее затратной схемы.Выводы: при сравнении сопоставимых по клинической эффективности и переносимости альтернативных режимов АРВТ первой линии, минимизация затрат с учетом ценовых характеристик лекарственных средств позволяет обеспечить терапией максимальное количество пациентов. В ряде клинических ситуаций минимальной стоимостью характеризуются режимы, включающие фиксированную комбинацию лопинавира и ритонавира

    Photoelectrochemical behavior of the ternary heterostructured systems CdS/WO3/TiO2

    In this article, we report the results of comparative studies of photoelectrochemical behavior of the binary CdS/TiO2 and WO3/TiO2 and ternary CdS/WO3/TiO2 heterostructures based on titania nanotube and planar structures. Physical–chemical characterization by XRD, XPS, and electron microscopy methods together with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements confirm a successful formation of heterostructured electrodes, both nanotube-based and planar. The results of photoelectrochemical studies of the heterostructures demonstrate a significant difference in their behavior depending on the structure geometry and the character of the formed heterojunctions. It is concluded that nanotube-based heterostructure electrodes can be characterized by a stochastic set of different heterojunctions while planar systems demonstrate well-ordered heterojunctions with a strictly defined electron transfer direction. Particularly, we demonstrate the possibility of the realization of Z-scheme of photoexcitation and charge separation in ternary planar systems under visible light irradiation

    Efficacy of conjugate vaccines in pneumococcal infection prevention

    The problem of pneumococcal infection is actual for many countries of the world in connection with high incidence and mortality. Vaccination by the 7-valent conjugated pneumococcal vaccine of children till 2 years is available in Russia since 2009, 13-valent – since 2012. Objectives – an assessment of clinical and epidemiological efficacy in pneumococcal infection prevention infection by catamnesis after 7-valent conjugated pneumococcal vaccine application. Observation over incidence of pneumonia and otitis of 50 children imparted against a pneumococcal infection is made. The indicator of density of incidence of pneumonia in group of the imparted made 9,7 on 1000 (95% of CI; 9,1–10,3) in group of comparison – 92,6 on 1000 (95% of CI; 91,3–93,9). Index of efficacy of vaccination concerning pneumonia of any etiology – 9,5, effectiveness ratio – 89,5%. The indicator of density of incidence of otitis at the imparted was 1,8 times less – 155,3 on 1000 (95% of CI; 150,9–155,7) in group of comparison – 263,9 on 1000 (95% of CI; 261,7–266,1). The index and vaccination effectiveness ratio concerning acute otitis media made 1,8 and 44,3%. Thus, vaccination against pneumococcal infection is effective as concerning community acquired pneumonia, and acute otitis media of any etiology
