Environmental safety as a priority factor of international relations under the conditions of globalization: parity basis and principles of formation

The article examines prerequisites for the formation of the global environmental safety as an integral part of international relations and politics against the background of the long-term ecological crisis. Features of the global environmental safety and levels of its operation on a territorial basis are singled out and grounded. Attention is focused on transboundary character of the manifestation of most environmental threats and hazards, making it impossible for countries to overcome the consequences on their own. Emphasized are global threats and hazards that will determine areas of cooperation in the global environmental safety in the near future. Parity basis and principles of formation of global ecologically safe space are outlined. Considering the world experience of the implementation of forms and methods of economical use of natural resources and observance of safety of existence, directions of strategic planning of national environmental safety are suggested.Розкриваються передумови становлення глобальної екологічної безпеки як невід’ємної частини міжнародних відносин та політики на фоні довготривалої екологічної кризи. Виділяються та обґрунтовуються характерні ознаки глобальної екологічної безпеки та рівні її функціонування за територіальним принципом. Акцентується увага на транскордонності прояву більшості екологічних загроз та небезпек, що унеможливлює подолання наслідків державами самостійно. Виділено глобальні загрози та небезпеки, що визначатимуть у найближчій перспективі напрями співпраці у світовій екологічній безпеці. Окреслюються паритетні засади та принципи формування глобального екологобезпечного простору. Виходячи із світового досвіду форм і методів ощадливого використання природних ресурсів та дотримання безпеки існування, запропоновано напрями стратегічного планування національної екологічної безпеки

Photoproduction off the nucleon revisited: Evidence for a narrow N(1688) resonance?

Revised analysis of $\Sigma$ beam asymmetry for the $\eta$ photoproduction on the free proton reveals a structure at $W\sim 1.69$ GeV. Fit of the experimental data based on the E429 solution of the SAID partial wave analysis suggests a narrow ($\Gamma \leq 25$ MeV) resonance. Possible candidates are $P_{11}, P_{13}$, or $D_{13}$ resonances. The result is considered in conjunction with the recent evidence for a bump-like structure at $W\sim 1.67 - 1.68$ GeV in the quasi-free $\eta$ photoproduction on the neutron.Comment: Contribution to the Workshop on the Physics of the Excited Nucleons NSTAR2007, Bonn, Germany, Sept. 5 - 8 2007. Феномен покоління: особливості соціологічної концептуалізації

The article analyzes theoretization of generational issues in classical and contemporary sociological discourse, analyses the main methodological approaches that define vector of such research. An attempt is made explication of criteria for the selection of the generations through the prism of the objectivist and subjectivist sociology. Conceptualization of generation is carried out in the framework of structural-functional paradigm. Defining the theoretical model generation, the base is taken as a symbolic model. Special attention in defining symbolic model emphasizes community of contemporaries whose life coincided with a particular period of history, which is what causes the formation of entelechy of generation.It is concluded that generation habitualization determines the identity and self-perception of individuals through representation in the title (name) of generation and objectivists in social practices and particular life style generation. Examines the processes of self-determination of generation communities through identifying markers that contribute to the institutionalization generation organization of society.Аналізується теоретизація поколінної проблематики у класичному і сучасному соціологічному дискурсі, розглядаються основні методологічні підходи, які визначають векторність даних дослід­жень. Здійснюється спроба експлікації критеріїв виділення поколінь крізь призму об’єктивістської і суб’єктивістської соціології. Концептуалізація покоління здійснюється у межах структурно-діяльнісної парадигми. Визначивши теоретичні моделі покоління,за базову береться символічна модель.Особлива увага у визначенні символічної моделі акцентується на спільності сучасників, життя яких збыглося з особливим періодом історії, що й обумовлює формування ентелехії покоління.Робиться висновок щодо поколінної габітуалізації, яка визначає самоідентифікацію і самовідчуття індивідів через репрезентації у назві (самоназві) генерації і об’єктивізується в соціальних практиках і особливому життєвому стилі покоління.Розглядаються процеси самовизначення поколінних спільнот через ідентифікаційні маркери, які сприяють інституціалізації поколінній організації суспільства.Аналізується теоретизація поколінної проблематики у класичному і сучасному соціологічному дискурсі, розглядаються основні методологічні підходи, які визначають векторність даних дослід­жень. Optimization of characteristics of multilayer spherical control joint-hinge stiffness

In this work the analytical expression is derived on the basis of the variational method for the evaluation of angular stiffness characteristics of the spherical multilayered elastomeric package joint-hinge subjected to loading with hinge moment and hydrostatic pressure on the lateral surfaces. Joint-package consists of alternating metallic and thin elastomeric layers. Metallic plates-layers are assumed to be rigid. It is demonstrated that the hydrostatic pressure can both mitigate and "harden" the hinge angular stiffness characteristics depending on which side surface of the elastomeric layer it is applied. Obtained relationships allow solving problems of optimal design, operation and control program selection for compensating joints of this type

Introduction: The term "postpartum psychosis" refers to a severe mental illness that begins abruptly shortly after childbirth. The pathophysiology of postpartum psychosis is poorly understood, but factors such as primiparity, difficult labor, genetic predisposition, and hormonal changes have been suggested as etiological factors. It is argued that sleep loss resulting from the interaction of various putative causal factors may be the final common pathway in the development of psychosis in susceptible women

Optimal design of turbines taking into consideration the mode of operation

The technique of turbines parameters optimization taking into consideration a variable mode of their operation has been developed. Block-hierarchical representation of design process is used. The hierarchy of local optimization problems is organized by a functional sign and realized in a common information space. The structure of optimization technique is shown, and also the analysis of the data streams uniting these problems in unified process of optimal design is resulted. By means of the developed technique optimal design of the 4-stage turbine expander with rated power 4 MW has been performed. Results of the design are presented and analyzed

Complex Approach to the Evaluation of the Reactivity of Solid Organic Fuels

A universal experiment-calculation approach for the evaluation of the kinetic characteristics of thermochemical transformation of solid organic fuels based on the application of the methods of complex thermal analysis and mathematical simulation has been proposed. The technique of the thermogravimetric experiment data processing and mathematical model description bases itself on a unifi ed calculation scheme of material balances and kinetic processes of natural coal burnout. Satisfactory qualitative and quantitative convergence of experimental and numerical results has been obtained.Предложен экспериментально-расчетный подход для оценки кинетических характеристик термохимического превращения твердых органических топлив, основанный на использовании методов комплексного термического анализа и математического моделирования. В основу методики обработки данных термогравиметрического эксперимента и описания математической модели положена единая расчетная схема материальных балансов и кинетических процессов выгорания натуральных углей. Получена удовлетворительная качественная и количественная сходимость экспериментальных и численных результатов
