A New Saurolophine Dinosaur from the Latest Cretaceous of Far Eastern Russia

Background: Four main dinosaur sites have been investigated in latest Cretaceous deposits from the Amur/Heilongjiang Region: Jiayin and Wulaga in China (Yuliangze Formation), Blagoveschensk and Kundur in Russia (Udurchukan Formation). More than 90% of the bones discovered in these localities belong to hollow-crested lambeosaurine saurolophids, but flat-headed saurolophines are also represented: Kerberosaurus manakini at Blagoveschensk and Wulagasaurus dongi at Wulaga. Methodology/Principal Findings: Herein we describe a new saurolophine dinosaur, Kundurosaurus nagornyi gen. et sp. nov. from the Udurchukan Formation (Maastrichtian) of Kundur, represented by disarticulated cranial and postcranial material. This new taxon is diagnosed by four autapomorphies. Conclusions/Significance: A phylogenetic analysis of saurolophines indicates that Kundurosaurus nagornyi is nested within a rather robust clade including Edmontosaurus spp. Saurolophus spp. and Prosaurolophus maximus, possibly as a sister-taxon for Kerberosaurus manakini also from the Udurchukan Formation of Far Eastern Russia. The high diversity and mosaic distribution of Maastrichtian hadrosaurid faunas in the Amur-Heilongjiang region are the result of a complex palaeogeographical history and imply that many independent hadrosaurid lineages dispersed without any problem between western America and eastern Asia at the end of the Cretaceous. © 2012 Godefroit et al.SCOPUS: ar.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe

Прогностична роль клінічних даних і молекулярно-біологічних тканинних маркерів при великофракційному передопераційному опроміненні раку гортані

Cancer of the larynx ranks 10th among men in the general structure of Ukraine. The problem of the treatment of this disease is far from being solved. Alternative methods of treatment and prognosis are being searched for. We used large-fractional preoperative irradiation of cancer of the larynx, studied the main clinical features and tumor markers indicators which can be used for prediction and feasibility selection of a method of treatment.Рак гортани занимает 10-ое место среди мужчин в общей структуре Украины. Проблема лечения этой патологии далека от разрешения. Проводится поиск альтернативных методов лечения и прогноза заболевания. Нами применено крупнофракционное предоперационное облучение рака гортани, изучены основные клинические проявления и онкомаркеры, показатели которых могут использоваться для прогноза и выбора целесообразности того или иного метода лечения.Рак гортані посідає 10-те місце серед чоловіків у загальній структурі України. Проблема лікування цієї патології далека від вирішення. Проводиться пошук альтернативних методів лікування і прогнозу захворювання. ON CONSTRUCTION AND ANALYSIS OF FINITE DIFFERENCE SCHEMES FOR PSEUDOPARABOLIC PROBLEMS WITH NONLOCAL BOUNDARY CONDITIONS

In this paper the one- and two-dimensional pseudoparabolic equations with nonlocal boundary conditions are approximated by the Euler finite difference scheme. In the case of classical boundary conditions the stability of all schemes is investigated by the spectral method. Stability regions of finite difference schemes approximating pseudoparabolic problem are compared with the stability regions of the classical discrete parabolic problem. These results are generalized for problems with nonlocal boundary conditions if a matrix of the finite difference scheme can be diagonalized. For the two-dimensional problem an efficient algorithm is constructed, which is based on the combination of the FFT method and the factorization algorithm. General stability results, known for the three level finite difference schemes, are applied to investigate the stability of some explicit approximations of the two-dimensional pseudoparabolic problem with classical boundary conditions. A connection between the energy method stability conditions and the spectrum Hurwitz stability criterion is shown. The obtained results can be applied for pseudoparabolic problems with nonlocal boundary conditions, if a matrix of the finite difference scheme can be diagonalized
